I honestly don't use ICS but here is a shot in the dark. Have you tried using a stock ROM and experience the same thing?

from what i remember i had no problems with the stock rom but from what it seems its like a registry issue but idk...

ok this only happens on the energy roms anybody have a clue on why this happens?

Please someone help i hate this!!!!1

Fuze ICS auto disconnecting
Try this:
Windows Start
Tools
Advanced Config
Network
Scroll Down to the (Turn Off WiFi if no activity) Change it to NO
right below the above (WiFi If no activity) find (Wifi auto off timeout) and set it to 120001.
Also you can go to the menu feature at bottom tap more settings, connections-- make sure the disconnect after is not checked and that wifi is enabled on standbye.
Hope this helps !!

My wifi comes back ON automatically, why?

Hi all, once I turn OFF wifi on my SP5m, it sometimes comes back ON automatically, even though all my "internet applications" are shutdown/closed. It's as if an internet connection would still be needed somewhere on the phone?!... but once I turn it OFF again, it stays OFF this time! Why would it do that? How can I make sure it stays OFF once I actually turn it OFF?
Thanks all
highmighty
May be a bug? or a Feature ??
* Double check for all application shutdown
* Go on Comm Manager and disable it, wait for LCD go off now return on Comm Manager and check if wifi is on, than turn it off
I'm using bundled CeleTask to close all tasks and stop wifi, work, may be some time need to turn off wifi 2 times, (after the lcd turns on)
FYI, I'm using WM6 (perfect edition) and to me it looks like a bug, anyone else has this? It's very annoying cause I always have to double-check that wifi is OFF when i put my phone away... otherwise, it reconnects to my wifi network and drains my battery
Same over here
same here as well
but even before i flashed my dopod577w with imate sp5 rom i already experienced that problem
I have the same problem. SDA flashed w/imate
I do face that problem using AKU2 , sometimes
so does that mean it!s a known issue for both wm5 and wmó? anyone knows more about it? someone is working on a fix? thanks all
highmighty
This has plagued the SP5m in every firmware version I tried, except the factory one, and also in wm6.
Same thing on my qtek 8310 with any firmware. Always have to close Wifi two times.
I have a T-mobile SDA with its stock rom and it has the same problem. I think why the problem is happening is something to do with the setting that turns off wifi automatically to save power.
I have not experimented with it, but I think if you turn off the setting, you shouldn't have any problems anymore.

WiFi - Not working at all HTC Touch Pro

Hi,
Having some really odd problems with an HTC Touch Pro....
It was working fine, IMAP a bit slow over WiFi but nothing I couldn't put up with, I was using: 1.66.405.1 then today the WiFi just disappeared... Nothing
Whenever in comms manager I clicked on WiFi I got the whirling WM icon and then nothing
I faithfully backed up and reflashed in case it was something I'd done... No nothing..
I've since upgraded to 1.90.405.1 and still have the same problem!
Does anyone have any bright ideas to how I can get WiFi working again.
I should add that in the Wireless LAN settings screen it says:
Wireless LAN is OFF. Turn on Wireless LAN (but clicking the link has zero effect!)
touch pro wi fi not working
i have the same problem pls someone help
Try to upgrade to ROM 1.90.456.3, I hope you will get rid of many problems in Touch pro.
htc touch pro
can you pls tell me how am i going to do this PLSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
I'm quite happy flashing ROMs (I've installed enough on this one!!!)
But can someone tell me where I might find ROM 1.90.456.3 (it's not in the Wiki)
Or any ROM people believe will fix my WiFi problems?
This is really frustrating!!
I'm having issues too. Wireless had been working fine then out of the blue last night I couldn't get connected back to my wireless LAN. Now its been a day and still cannot. I rebooted my router and one of my access points. This is driving me nutz...
Does your wireless icon even come on, or does it just sit there with the rotating icon and nothing happens before it goes back to the comm manager?
I'm going to reflash this again - can someone suggest a stable ROM that might solve my WiFi problems?

The wireless adapter was active and could see the networks, but it could never authenticate.
I did a hard reset and it's working again but I have to say the connection is a bit flaky in that it drops frequently even though I have a strong wireless signal.
Currently I don't even get that - it just toggles back to the "off" position after whirring for a little while!
I flashed it with the Elite ROM still nothing.
Took the battery out overnight, lo and behold this morning turned it on and the wireless icon appeared, the device promptly crashed!
After the reboot the aerial icon flashed up "network detected" and I nearly jumped for joy as I entered my password, only for it to crash again.
On this reboot the aerial icon was alive with the arrows going left and right as if it was trying to pickup an IP address, but nothing and when I went into comm manager or the settings menu it said wlan was not active (and wouldn't let me activate it!).
I've just reflashed it again with NATF Rom and still nothing, don't tell me I have to leave the battery out for 12 hours to get it?!
Settings>Connections>Wireless LAN>Power Mode - make certain that the slider is all the way to "Best Performance". With the slider anywhere else, connection will be difficult. Drove me nuts for a few days until I discovered a thread for other HTC machines on another site.
Surely I have to be able to turn on wireless first? I can't even do that!
I too have this issue, and have never been able to find ANYONE who can fix this issue, flashing to the latest rom version from AT&T to see if it will work then, if not, i think i might set my phone to factory and claim my insurance/warranty on this phone to get another one since almost nobody is having this issue and those that do say "search the forums" i have, and have found tons of people with it, but no fixes!
I have exactly the same ... because i use wm 6.5 (my own cooked) i thought is me did something wrong so flashed again with a new build, then nothing i went back to 6.1, still nothing seems the wifi controller is totally disapeared from the system unable to comunicate with the controller all progs i tried came back "The pipe is being closed" what is that i cant even see any wifi controller related in the system....
Someone please.anything works fine except WIFI
any recent developments on this issue?
I just recieved a BRAND NEW Fuze from HTC and im so pissed that the wifi isnt working......
I have the same problem ... i have flashed some ROM, some RADIOS, but the wireless still not working ...
Any ideas

HTC Fuze - GPS not working

Okay, so heres the problem...
I flashed this rom: [ROM][WWE][04-8-2009][ShEp's Rom Ver 3c][WinMo 6.5][Build 21500V2][TF3D RhodiumV1d]
And after that, I flashed the Raphael 1.12.25.19 Radio.
Everything works on my phone except GPS, for some reason when it tries to use the GPS it goes to the cannot connect screen. it shows Dialed:
I currently have ATT and turned off the internet service with AdvancedConfigTool. I don't know if this is the problem.
Thanks
Do you have AGPS turned on or off? It might be trying to connect to teh ATT network to use the A-GPS but is getting shut down by your internet not working.
Does the GPS eventually connect, or not at all?
some snapshots would be great
I disabled for my Fuze to connect to the ATT internet using AdvanceConfigTool. When GPS tries to work, the Dialed screen comes up and...
Dialed: (Blank)
That's it. In the settings it says A-GPS is on. I'm using Wifi btw.
Can anyone help me...

Disabling the AGPS worked for me. I just kept loosing GPS connection when it was enabled.

What program are you using?
You need to turn AGPS off. As far as I know, there is no way to use AGPS over WiFi. You will need to disable it in order to stop the pop-up.
[Q]GPS realy not working.
So, 1st post for me, same problem so i didn't want to open a new thread.
*Not HTC Fuze, but Touch Pro, Raph100, anyway same device.*
GPS, COM4, 4800, auto location on, agps on, does not lock.
Neither on gpsinfo, google maps, igo 8, htc gps tool. It just keep on searching, and showing lots of text in gpsinfo and htc gps tool, but no lock (left it at least 20 mins at the window).
Tried with quickgps, location set correctly, same result. I have stock battery.
ROM: EnergyROM 'Phoenix 2' (21885) |Dec 21
Radio: 1.14.25.05, same on 1.12.25.19.
Didn't test the gps on the original rom because the first thing i did when i put my hands on this phone was to change the rom
No warranty for this phone, so any help would be greatly appreciated. I just don't know what to do anymore.
up? problem still in place, any help appreciated
I have the same problem. same rom and same phone ie raphael and energy rom 24 dec. i used these tweakings but no use http://blog.mohdimran.com/htc-touch-pro-gps-problem-tweaking/
a help will be appreciated. i m about to try a stock rom.
Maybe post a reply if it solves your problem
up? not solved..
Try different Radios
It happen to me a long time ago a pair of times and now is back (thats the reason I found this post), first be patience a lot.
It seems to me like Radio problem, meens not every mix of roms and radios work nice with GPS and depends too wich country you use the GPS. So let's try and give enough time sky open to build the database and get first fix. Quick GPS can help (keep udated).
Like I said before I'm facing it right now I flash a new ROM and Radio problems began (Included so long to connect a voice call, fail data service, low bars on signal level, etc.) So I try 2 radios now first fix all except GPS the second I can get GPS fix but takes about 15 minutes every time so I will keep on trying I will tell my results.
just in case you can solve it let me know please.

[Q] My wifi turns on and off

Hey there,
I'm having a weird issue with my stock Nexus S. I've tried a few custom roms, but after realizing that I was better off with stock, I flashed stock again... Now, I've noticed that sometimes, with the WiFi off, I would receive emails and Google+ notifications! It turns out that my wifi is turning on and off, and I don't know how!
I don't have, to my knowledge, installed a program that controls wifi(if you want, I can post my list of apps).
So, what's happening here? Anyone has any idea?
Thanks
Ditto here

You have the same issue? Can you post your list of installed apps? I seriously don't know what's going on!
This may seem really obvious - but have you double-checked that those notifications aren't coming in via your mobile network?
If you have Juice Defender (or something similar) installed, that might also be responsible for switching on your wifi periodically.

Nothing like that... I was just activating my alarm clock for tomorrow and the wifi came on, out of thin air! It shutdown in less than a second, too! And I did absolutely nothing!
Also, I don't have any app like Juice Defender
Ok, so I've flashed the stock rom, locked the bootloader, etc, and I thought I had solved the problem. I didn't, the thing keeps turning on and off!!
I'm seriously thinking about sending it for repairs
you could send it in to samsung or install some newer 2.3.5 kernels which seemed to solve any wifi issues i may have had. Android 2.3.5 made some changes to wifi signal strenght.

I have stock, and it's the regular nexus S, not the 4G one (so I haven't received 2.3.5 yet).
I'll try installing the 2.3.5 kernels and report back
check your advanced wifi settings.
by default they are set to turn wifi off when screen is off. so even if you have wifi on it will turn off when screen is off automatically.
menu>settings>wireless and network settings>wi-fi settings>menu(softkey)>advanced>wifi sleep policy>check the "never" radio button.

I wish it were that simple... I've the wifi sleep policy set to never since I can remember. I only turn on wifi when I need it

Official HTC ICS Update: Problem with Wireless LAN

Hi!
I updated to the original HTC ICS rom and am noticing 2 little "bugs"
1: Wireless LAN doesn't stay on. I can turn it on, but once the screen turns off the wireless connection is turned off. To resolve this I have set it up so that it stays connected to the AP even in Standby Mode, but this seems to have no effect.
2: Bad GPS reception: I have noticed that the GPS reception isn't really all that good. Don't know if this is related to the update, but I have now really started to notice this problem.
Anyone else had the same problems? If yes was there a solution found?
Cheers

Ur best chance is looking at here for anyone else experiencing anything similar.
For your GPS problems you can try this FasterFix app. Worked very good for me
Edit: Just saw that It requires root. I don't know if you have rooted your official ICS... Be careful
Thanks for the tip
My problem however isn't a FAST gps fix. My problem is getting a gps lock at all, and holding it. Strange thing is that when I am in the car I constantly lose the gps lock, or get a bad fix.
My girlfriend however (she has a Wildfire S) has no problems whatsoever in the same car.
I would be far more tempted to look at aGPS if I were you. I was never convinced by FasterFix - it's a very minimal app.

It sure is, but it does what it has to do. Setting the ntp pool on my phone from Asia to Europe surely made a difference

I agree with you there - it made a difference to me as well, but setting up my aGPS correctly brought my time to acquire a stable lock down from about 17 seconds to 3 - 4.
my wifi on desire s is work properly n nothing found any problem
I had a similar problem with wifi and it worked by re flashing!
gave vupgno
I have official ICS, after few minutes of using i downloaded and installed JB.

Had the same problem - but I'm still using Gingerbread.
The solution:
Settings > Wireless & Network > Wi-Fi Settings > "Menu Button" > Advanced > Wi-Fi Sleep Policy.
You'll probably find you've got a policy that lets the Wifi sleep after a certain while. Turn that off, and you're probably ready to go!
Hope this helps (hope it's the same on ICS)
===
Yes. It's the same on ICS. I did it after I upgraded, and it's working fine.
