So I have this idea for an app. Yes, I know it's been done before (Button Savior), but I'm looking for something different. I want something that will allow me to resize my screen usage space to accommodate the soft buttons to be present full-time and not interfere with the usage of my phone. And I want it to mimic the look and feel of the Galaxy Nexus soft buttons. Does anybody know of an app of this caliber?

I think he just means if there's some way to make the volume buttons act as a hardware camera button, although his wording does make it somewhat ambiguous.
is there any way to wake my phone screen up when locked using the menu button? or home button? or search etc. im so tired of pressing the power button just to wake my screen up sometimes its just so irritating.. ive tried using widgetlocker and the easywake mode that allows volume buttons wake up still feels uncomfortable to me..

I'm not sure how I feel about this one. The power button makes sense because it is a physical button. Its really easy to accidentally turn the phone on by hitting they led keys. would kill the battery fast. But I'll look into it once I get a chance. Work is killing me right now.

Hi there, running Nexus Beam 4, and Glados ICS kernel here, and i think it would be very 'Galaxy Nexus-ey' if we reversed the effects of the home button, IE one touch brings up the ICS multitasking, whilst holding it activates the home screen, anyone know how something like that could be achieved?

I have a Nexus 7 running CM10 and a XPLAY now running ICS, and i have just noticed that when you swipe the apps after long pressing, you just take the app off the list, but some still running...(like dead trigger and gamecih)
does someone knows a app/mod that force closes the app insted of just taking off the list, when you swipe it

If u go under developers options all the way at the bottom there's a setting that destroys all activities when the user leaves. That's kind of like it

Android 2.2 and up handles multitasking itself, you don't want to force close unless the app starts behaving erratically.

Hey y'all, is there a way to disable the power button. My power is giving me major issues an if I touch it, it will make my phone reboot over and over. Is there an app that will help me remap my buttons?

It sounds like you have an issue that is a common one for the Infuse, namely the power button wearing out or getting contaminated... Result being a tendency to stick "on", which leads to screen on or reboots.
Search the forum for "clean power button" ... you should find a thread with info on repair services and do it yourself solutions.

I took my phone apart already and cleaned it as well, but it sti'll sticks. So I was wondering if there is a way the I can disable the power button.?

I'm not sure about this, but I suspect the long press of power triggering reboot is in the hardware...
Someone else may know better.
When you cleaned your phone did you disassemble to get access to the back of the button and use a cleaner like CRC QD electronic cleaner squirted in from all possible directions?

CRC QD restores the electrical contact to normal operation. You might want to try that. It's available from Amazon.
Short blasts from all directions allowing dry time in between. A final air blast after wouldn't hurt. Give it another 5 min or so to completely dry then reassemble.

There was an app somewhere here on xda called Button Remapper that did exactly what you're asking to do, disable or set up another button to do that task. Or you can try galaxy tuner on the market. Says it has that option.
