That is a completely false statement. The thing that Woz loves more is barbecue restaurants. If you follow him, almost 100% of his foursquare checks come from these places.

Without Woz (and after him, PARC, Jonathan Ive, Scott Forstall, etc), there would be no Apple, true. Without Jobs, Apple wouldn't be Apple, though. We saw how the company foundered, marginalized and distracted, when not under his leadership. (Fifteen hundred different models of indistinguishable Performa/LC/PowerMac models; overpriced underperforming Newtons; rebadged Canon printers; OpenDoc; Taligent/Pink/Copland ...)
I know Woz (not well, but I have met him in person (through John "Cap'n Crunch" Draper, back when The Cap'n was flinging 3.5" disks of PGP around raves). I love Woz. I was an Apple IIe/IIgs user back in the day. But Woz' contributions were of a day. All too quickly, the bare-metal hacks of elegance Woz excelled at -- nybble disk reading routines with 1:1 interleave; tricky hi-res NTSC video output -- they just weren't necessary anymore.
I think it's telling that Jobs went on to usher into the world standard-setting new gadgets until his dying days, whereas Woz tried to launch a universal remote control, put together some jam sessions, and then basically retired to teach middle school kids and play around on his Segway and other new gadgets -- all of them engineered by other people.

Jobs was a charismatic mascot who used his companies perceived underdog status, marketing acumen and relationship with mass media providers to generate massive amounts of undeserved hype for his average at best products.
The biggest standards set by apple while Jobs was in charge was patent trolling and
frivolous lawsuits.
Good on Woz for not being a fanboi.

I hate to have to say this but the majority of people who would actively object to apple are not going to be apple customers and so apple won't take any notice.
I disaprove of their tactics, suing rather than offering a licence, it is done simply to eliminate android as competition but it is also a very effective way to take out competition in general.
Nexus 7 will be an apple target, especially if an ipad mini is released, it is all about control. You are right but your basically calling any passionate android fans to action and they are the very people who apple will listen to the least

We've been a british colony since 1913. It's better for you to go research it yourself, but if you must know, I'll tell you how. Also, our money hasn't been backed by gold, and we haven't OWNED ANY GOLD AT ALL, since 1937.

The flag in Washington's District of Columbia has 3 red stars, each symbolizing a city state within the three city empire. The three city empire consists of Washington D.C., London, and Vatican City. London is the corporate center of the three city states and controls the world economically. Washington's District of Columbia city state is in charge of the military, and the Vatican offers spiritual guidance. The constitution of the district of Columbia operates under a tyrannical roman law known as lex fori, which in no way resembles the U.S. constitution.
When congress passed the act of 1871, it created a separate corporate government for the District of Columbia. This allowed the District of Columbia to operate as a corporation outside the constitution.
If you take a moment to study some signed treaties and charters between the United States and Britain, you will find that the United States has always been a British crowned Colony. In 1606, King James (yes, the King James who revised the bible) signed the charter of Virginia. The charter granted Americas British forefathers a license to settle and colonize America. The charter also guaranteed future kings and queens of England would have sovereign authority over all citizens and colonized land in America.
In 1783, the Paris peace treaty was signed. This treaty identifies the King of England as the prince of the United States contradicting the belief that America won the war of independence. And although King George III of England gave up most claims over his American colonies, he kept his right to continue receiving payments for his business ventures of colonizing America. If America won the war of independence, why would the agree to pay reparations to the king.
When the 13th amendment to the constitution was passed, the U.S. president was made subservient to the King of England. The 13th Amendment (the title of nobility amendment) forbids U.S. officials from using royal titles like king, or prince. For some strange reason though, the 13th amendment which was ratified in 1810 no longer appears in current copies of the U.S. constitution.
The war of independence against the British bankrupted America and turned its citizens into debt slaves of the king. In 1812, the British torched and burned the white house and all U.S. government buildings to the ground, destroying many ratification records of the U.S. constitution.
Then, nearly a century later, a corrupt U.S. congress committed the biggest theft in world history. They passed Paul Warburgs federal reserve act of 1913, handing over Americas gold and silver reserves (and total control of Americas economy) to the federal reserve bank. Most Americans still believe the FED is owned by the government, but it is not. The FED is a privately owned banking system whose majority class A shareholders include the Rothschild's, Warburgs, J.P. Morgan, the Rockefeller's and the Lehman brothers.
Most U.S. citizens believe the United States is a country and the president is its leader, but the U.S. is not a country, it is a corporation, and the president is not our leader, he is the president of the corporation of the U.S. The president, along his elected officials work for the corporation, not for the American People.

I've dedicated the greater portion of my prior-service life to true patriotism. To the poster above shortbus, Zeitgeist is old news, and a FRAUD. It makes some good points and observations, but it is wrought with factual obfuscation and misdirection.
For anyone who might be on the same level as I... they know we are here, they know we are awake, they know they must begin to take action to protect themselves from patriots. The trick on the battlefield has always been, to out-strategize the enemy. America has been classified as a battlefield by the government since the Patriot Act. Only recently have they begun publicly acknowledging it, and taking the necessary steps to creat controlled flashpoints.
I'll say it one more time....

Wodensman.....I've never even heard of Zeitgeist nor do i plan to watch it so please don't bring me up with that post thank you.
I do believe in true patriotism and bringing down the corruption..... I don't intend to watch or believe in false propaganda.... only by true facts and making a better future for my....our.....children.
We cannot afford to be miss guided in our fight for freedom.....if we allow that to happen...we've already lost
Even though the general consensus seems to be that In-App purchases are a HATED thing by consumers...Devs keep coming out with apps that utilize it.
I'm curious to see how many folks from XDA actually have payed into IAP.
I have on ios, ive spent 7$ on dead space. But most games i just use the iap cracker hack, downloads iaps for free lol

Maybe not the right section of XDA but anyway...
I have NEVER played a game with in-app purchases because I can guess already that the game will push you to buy... I hate freemium.

They do not push you to buy, but they implement a reward/delayed gratification system that humans succumb to, justifying in game "coins" purchases for the impatient.
I have a lot of games that use this: tiny tower, svz, dead trigger, contract killer; none of these force purchases.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda app-developers app
Recent news about Dead Trigger is what piqued my interest about IAP.
Basically Madfinger blames rampant piracy of Dead Trigger as the reason why they recently dropped the price of Dead Trigger from $0.99 to FREE.
To which I think it's a load of BS and it's more likely they're using known issues of piracy on Android as an easier-to-digest public announcement of the pricedrop...Versus the truth, which is that their IAPs are doing very well so they're going to give the game away to entice more people in so they'll also use the IAP.
Call me a conspiracist, but since when does giving your product away for free as a piracy deterrent a good business model?...Photoshop has got to be one of the most pirated piece of software out there, you don't see Adobe giving it out for free to battle piracy though.
Actually, I prefer iap than downright paying for an app that might not deliver as promised.
Most games that use iap are actually more challenging/fun/satisfying when you go through them without spending real money to make them a cakewalk.
iAP is actually ok if it was equal to the amount that is usually charged for paid apps. However, most dev see it as a way to earn more money by crippling the game so much that it requires iap. Dead trigger seems to be ok without purchasing iap.

I agree.
Would like to but can't
Being from outside the US, I have not figured out how to do an iAP.
I can buy from the Play Store through my browser, but so far, have not been able to purchase via iAP.
While I do not play games on my Note 2, there are occasions where I would like to make an iAP.
So, long story short, if I could figure out how... I would.
Though I hate it. I would rather have a free version and a pro version I can buy on the forum through my browser on my computer vs. iAP. That way I can buy them too.
I do spend money on in game purchases, even though I think a lot of it is borderline evil and essentially charging people to cheat.
I really think there should be regulations.
I mean paying money to change some memory value in a single player game seems like a scam to me. Seems dishonest. Selling actual content is ok, but selling cheats just makes me angry!
I mean buying gems is essentially a money cheat. So sometimes I use freedom app to do that instead. And if you think cheating is not ok, then you clearly have not been alive back when every game out there had cheats FOR FREE!
And then we see the glorified gambling boxes everywhere with undisclosed chances to get what you actually want. Its the wild west.
I feel bad for the 'whales' that spend thousands of dollars on a game, because their addictive tendencies got exploited and in 5 years from now the game will be taken offline.
Also paying for power makes many games unacceptable for me and like 90% of mobile games do it now. You always have to pay for power, power increases over time. Its basically a game subscription if you want to be competitive, except instead of $20 per month, you would have to spend $300 per month to stay competitive.
And the saddest thing about it all is that consumers accept that stuff. And so do legislators. FOR NOW. But times are changing. The Wild west of mobile casinos will end. Soon you wont be able to do micro transactions in certain jurisdictions if your game is a pay-for-cheats lootbox/pack casino, and good riddance.
Well done Google! You proved that you have added another skill to your inventory!
A world class prankster!
The commercials and the Kit Kat candy bars with cryptic clues and $5 play store credits was pure genius, like I have said before. A wonderful marketing machine for both Nestle and Google, and paved the way for advertising your products on popular consumer food items in the future.
Bravo, bravo!
PS - you also turned me into the Halloween scrooge, as there will be no child who will receive a Kit Kat or Nestle candy product from me tonight as I will go out of my way to avoid these products today on my $100 annual candy purchase - I live in a soccer mom neighborhood where kids swarm like locusts as the sun goes down. Just my own little personal trick or treat favor in return - if everyone on XDA did the same around the world it would make a nice dent in those holiday profits, and that would be wonderful news to read. But alas, people are fickle and will awake tomorrow morning like the same excited 'hungry dog' with 'lapping tongue' hitting F5 on the source page until they finally wear off the letters, and yet no update will come until mid November because any later than that and you risk parents and shoppers buying another type of phone for the holidays, and that's not going to be allowed to happen because that's part of your arterial blood supply.
Happy Haloween my XDA brothers and sisters! And for once Nestle can 'eat me' not the other way around! lol.
