I just visited my local ghost armor kiosk and had them wrap my phone. I got the matte finish on this puppy. Say hello to the perfect fit, and goodbye to those darn glossy/slippery edges.
Now I'm not constantly whipping the back of my phone every half hour check it out below! $40 later:

Sweet! you said a kiosk, I suppose inside a mall right? Are they held on with adhesive? $?
Go to ghost-armor.com and click on locations. Put in your zip code and it'll pull up the closest ones to you.
This wrap cost me 40$, but they have carbon fiber wraps and such that cost 45$. It includes the screen. The dude told me that if i just wanted to do the back without the screen its only $20.
And its held on with adhesive. They use a special box to put it on. Its really cool. If you get it done, definitely watch them!

I might have this done on mine this weekend. They have one at a local mall about 15 miles from me. Not sure if I want the matte or glossy. One thing I do hate is finger prints. But I also do not like the way matte makes the screen very very dull.
wow I didn't even know they had these. I am planning on getting the white skyrocket so I didn't want a case because I wanted to show off the white phone this will be perfect. there is one in a mall that's like 20 minutes away awesome info!
looks very cool! How is the screen protector portion? Is it crystal clear and feals like glass? I hate the Zagg protectors because they ruin the feel of a touch screen. Vikuti and Steinheil are great, but a ***** to put on right. (For me at least...)

Ghost armor doesn't do matte screens only crystal clear.
The front protector itself is polyurethane like Zagg, however it is much thinner and way more natural. You need a microscope to see the orange peel. It fits better than the zagg best buy gave me too. Much more precise.

For some reason I prefer the ZAGG. Looks to me like the image is clearer.
I think zagg quality depends on the phone. The zagg on my iPhone 4 was good but on the skyrocket it looked horrendous. The ghost armor protector is the way to go IMO

I'm tempted to get this, the pictures you posted look great. I just hated when I had Zagg and it would gather lint on the edges of the protector, does this one go on better than that?
Went and got the carbon fiber back set and clear front for $43.. pretty happy with it. Much easier to hold on to now with the carbon fiber back, definitely the best part of it. I may or may not keep the front cover, since the gorrilla glass really doesnt need a cover. But I'd recommend the carbon fiber back to everyone with a skyrocket.

Had the carbon fiber on my iPhone 4 for a year, but I honestly think the normal ghost armor is better for grip than the carbon fiber. I personally got the Matte installed yesterday and like the looks and the grip to it. Compared to zagg, the orange peel look is much less noticeable, huge fan of the Ghost Armor.

I went back to them yesterday and swapped to the carbon fiber back. Didn't cost me a dime
I do however recommend the screen stay on though, for I did exactly what you are thinking of. Took it off because GG doesn't need it. Boy was I wrong. Put it in my glove box full of junk while getting pulled over, took the phone out and had a lovely slash down the middle. Gorilla glass my ass.
Luckily I saved the ghost armor protector and brought it back to them, the guy put on a new one for free. Amazing service from them, and I'm never taking this cover off haha

I have used Ghost Armor on every phone I have had since the iPhone 4. Used it on the SGSII and now the Skyrocket. I absolutely love this product. Just had my daughters Samsung Epic 4G wrapped in it as well. Worth every penny. Had the carbon fiber on the iPhone and the SGSII, but got the matte finish on the SR and I like it better than the carbon fiber finish and yes the screen protector is a must.

My whole phone took the guy about 15 minutes. He was juggling like 3 phones at once though. The kid worked pretty quick, especially compared to all the other lazy NJ kids in retail.
How easy is it to put on, without screwing anything up, if there isn't a location near me and I have to apply it myself? I'm in Houston and the closest location is is Austin or Dallas. I also have little to no personal experience putting these things on phones, but I've seen some installation videos for similar products and it doesn't seem too difficult.

Ok i received my phone a couple of days ago from and ebay user. The phone was suppose to be brand new. But to my surprise right out if the box it had a pretty big scratch. I think that little piece of plastic that sticks out of the back and goes under the battery is what scratched it. Because the film thats suppose to be protecting the screen was not applied, so that plastic piece was rubbing up against the bare screen during shipment.
So anyways i paid $450 for the phone, and he gave me $25 back since it had a scratch. but this scratch is really bothering me. Is there any way i could get htc to replace it?
Doubt it very much, you can ask them but that's about it
$25 off for a scratched screen? Are you kidding? Got a 60" plasma with a cracked screen for sale for $2000, willing to go $1925 just for you

why can not you send it back to ebay, I bought a xperia x10 a while ago from ebay and the buttons were not functioning, I sent it back for a full refund.
If the seller does not agree then I would suggest you to get EBAY involved
or you can just buy one of this

eBay buyer protection. Contact PayPal they work faster than ebay. Refund back the $25 and open a case and get all ur money back. I wouldn't keep it. If I got a scratch on my screen I wouldnt want the phone anymore

It's just a screen protector LOL but it's doing the job. 'I had the silver carbon fiber put on the back as well. It's three pieces of sticker that cover the three pieces of the back. I was hoping it would make it less slippery. Didn't really help. Looks great though.

Yeah, I was kinda second guessing the glossy back cover after the fact, but it's too late now...
Phantom Skinz has matte, as well and someone else in the thread I started put up some pics of their install with it.
I hope you have better luck with GA then I did!
those of you looking for some decent protection for your touchpad should check out the ghost armor full body MATTE PROTECTION.
I have what they call a "matte" back on my iphone 3gs and iphone 4 and not only does it cover up all the scratches and give it a nice "frosty" look, it does not get any fingerprints on it whatsoever! The screen protector itself is crystal clear and quite a bit like zagg's invisibleshield, but it is less rubbery feeling, alas more natural.
I went to the kiosk in my mall and special ordered it for my touchpad, it should be installed on monday. I'll post some pictures once I get it on but i'm sure it will look great since the touchpad's back looks just like an iphone 3gs.
And for those of you worried about it peeling off like the zaggs sometimes do on cell phones, this is a tablet that you probably won't be putting in your pocket so there isn't too much risk of it peeling
This is what I use...
http://www.amazon.com/ArmorSuit-MilitaryShield-TouchPad-Protector-REPLACEMENTS/dp/B0057KCZ2Y/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1314565095&sr=8-2
Fits the touchpad perfectly. Looks like nothing is there. I have used zagg, BSE, and everything else out there, and I have to say, this is probably my favorite so far.
Personally I went for the Bodyguardz carbon fiber skin. 29 bucks and fits great. No glare screen protector as well.
If you want an additional discount, go onto their fb page, like them, and follow instructions on their competitve upgrade option. 30% discount
After you have an account with them, you also get permanent 20% discount on all your purchases with them.

Very happy.
If you take your time and know how to do it right... its awesome. You cant even tell there is anything there.
You can see videos online that show you how to do it... its really not that hard.

2 more questions...as for the texture, is it somewhat grippy? or slippery?
and the screen protector....does it dry clear after a few days?...or is it annoying?

I have the ghost armor on my ipad 2. It is great if installed right. I had them do it at the mall but the total price is insane.
I use bodyguardz for all my stuff. Excellent product with excellent customer service. I always get my replacements with no hassle. I put on my carbon fiber skin yesterday and I fits perfectly. Wished it had a hole for the HP symbol though. I'll try take some pics tonight. The screen protector is smooth as well. No stickiness like the zagg. Also the carbon fiber products are dry install.
any pics of the completed install?
I'm deciding between Ghost Armor and Zagg
I have zagg on my phone and I do NOT like the feel of it. It also has some imperfections (dents?). It does clean well though.
On my TP (now getting serviced for the crack by the speaker), has the Armor Suit Military Shield. I don't like the carbon backing - the corners are horrid. I do like the screen protector. Smooth and anti-glare.
I am going to try BobyGaurdz next. I hear the carbon back sits better on the TP than the Armor Suit.
Guys dont spend 30 bucks on that carbon fiber skin. Just type 3m carbon on ebay and look for the right size it cant be mnre than 5 bucks. I had some leftovers from my motorcycle and did both my phone and touchpad. Both perfect and it takes less than 5 mins.
For some reason it wount let me upload pics but if someone could shoot me a pm with their mail they could post them.

What is the best screen protector?
I am looking at this one http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Skyro..._1_8?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1331135872&sr=1-8
I have the otterbox communicator and the screen protector did not work so well.
I don't know if they are the "best" but I've been happy with Ghost Armor. I had it on my Inspire and now on my SR. No complaints so far.
No hazy effect, easy to get fingerprints/smudges off, etc.
I think they are good quality, though that doesn't mean there aren't other good ones out there.
+1 for the ghost armor. While you're at it you might as well get the entire wrap done.
vakuti , but cheaper and decent the one by ringke ( pack of 2 ) is cool
I just picked up an iVisor AG. It's anti-glare, anti-fingerprint, 100% bubble-free, removable and washable. I am using with the otterbox defender, I took off the defenders screen protector and used this screen protector instead.
Here is a link to check it out, but I got it from AT&T.
http://www.amazon.com/Moshi-Protection-Anti-Glare-Samsung-SkyRocket/dp/B006ACHERE
I'm partial to Steinheil products myself. I've tried a myriad of different companies but the Steinheils seem to be my favorite. Here is the one that I'm using right now:
http://www.amazon.com/SGP-Samsung-S...1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1331570396&sr=1-1
i got both
http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Skyro..._1_8?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1331135872&sr=1-8
and
http://www.amazon.com/SGP-Samsung-S...9ING/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1332086793&sr=8-6
and i find that they are both nice and pretty much bubble free if put on right. i think the steinheil feels a bit more premium and more like glass
in my opinion this is the best and easiest way to apply a screen protector correctly and with the best results.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&feature=endscreen&v=l-7bXUa4V5o
I am partial to the Steinheil products. I used to be a ghost armor fan but I don't like the wet application biz and the last time I used g armor it really darkened the screen. I have used the Steihheil (ultra crystal and ultra oleophobic) on the family phones now for a couple of generations (of phones ) and I am pleased with the results.
+1 on Steinheil, used it 2x (3 counting wash + reapply) on my Captivate. Now I am using Zagg Invisible Sheild on my 20% off from Best Buy Wireless. Not a matte screeen but anti-glare, easy instructions liquid apply and looks good + durable with lifetime no???s replacements.
End result: Wish I'd gotten Stienheil. ZIS needed too much wipedown and worst of all, didn't live up to scratch proof expectations. Trying something cheap from Amazon. Will post any positive outcome.

I find I prefer matte finish and the Anti-glare Matte Screen Protector for AT&T Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket I727 - 2 pack by CASE123 at amazon for $1.95 went on super easy, looks fine at straight veiwing angles and fits and wears well. Shared cutout for the speaker and FFC at the top seems to be the major difference vs. more expensive SGP.
Don't get the AT&T one. It makes the screen dark and you have to press harder than normal.
One good thing about it is that you never get air bubbles.

Add my vote for GA. But I gotta break with you on the full body wrap. I let them talk me into a carbon fiber full wrap. I tore it off within minutes - I didn't think it was possible to make the SR even more slippery, but that did the trick. They may offer full wraps using the same material as the screen protector, which would probably be fine since it has some grip. Personally, I need protection from drops, so I need a case.
So When i had a thread in the skyrocket forum for ghost armor it picked up pretty well. Ghost armor is a wet application protector like zagg and bodyguardz. They offer screen and full body protection. their protectors are, IMO, much less rubbery and tacky feeling than zagg and they show a lot less orange peel.
Aside from the clear finish though, they have different flavors such as carbon fiber wraps and my personal favorite, matte finish. Instead of using a case on my phones I always use these guys and have never been disappointed. I highly recommend having their kiosk employee do the installation too.
Here is my One X with the matte finish ghost armor applied, along with the screen. The original kit did not come with the sides and i had to add them in extra, but it's well worth it because the glossy sides are the most easily scratched part.
Looks very nice. I might just get it done as well!
Thank you! I had no clue there was a separate color option for the camera circle. Definitely getting now. How does it feel by the way?

I hate the orange peel effect it gives to the screen.
How much extra were the sides?
I was shocked when I picked mine up and didn't have any protection for the sides.

I actually got too anxious and couldn't wait for my full ghost armor so I bought the Zagg HD screen protector today. Damn is this thing smooth. Really feels just like the glass of the phone. I'm just going to use the back and sides from Ghost Armor, as I really can't stand any case that's out for this phone.
The matte actually improves the grip of the phone by quite a but but still feels awesome to hold. Side pieces cost me an extra $5 he used the pieces from an iPhone 3g kit

So is there any orange peal affect like Zagg on the screen protector?
I have no idea what that is. Never used any screen protector before today.
Ooh Gunny, that looks awesome! Have it professionally installed?

Yeah. I drink way too much coffee and could never have gotten it to look that good so I paid them. 37 bucks with tax for the skin and install.

I just googled. There may be a MINIMAL effect but I only see it when the phone is off and it's more like seeing vertical lines than bumps and swirls like in the pictures I saw.
Hate cases on a nice phone, but worried due to reports of the lcd cracking in pockets.
Anyone having luck without a case?

Broke my first 1 caseless within days, i got a clear TPU case that is VERY slim and does not take away from the phone much at all, I also added the Spigen glass.t screen protector

I'm caseless and I work in construction. I put it in a Ziploc bag to keep the debris out and I'm good to go.

I just pay for blacktie through best buy and go case less and don't have to worry about it breaking

The phone is too slippery for me without a case. I got a Ringke Slim, a bit easier to hold and extremely thin. Only 7 bucks shipped, can't go wrong!

Caseless and Happy
I've had my GS4 caseless since I got it just over two weeks ago, it's still in great condition. I generally don't like using a case on my phones, (I never used a case on my GS2 before this one) as I don't like the look and bulk that it adds, no screen protector either, I'm still amazed by how well Gorilla glass resists scratching, the screen on my GS2 still looks brand new, despite never having a screen protector on it.
Case less all the way, with a screen protector..prob don't neet it but I'm anal like that. Oh and changed the back to a metal one. Gives the phone a "heavier" feel.
Naked with a ArmorSuit Miltary shield screen protector and Seidio spring-clip hoster.
I am thinking of getting the metal back too. they look cool and seem to add weight to the back so the phone might be more likely to fall on the back in the event of a drop.
Im caseless and screen protector less, my phone flung off my lap when i got outta the car the othet day, cartwheeled on asphalt and only left a nick in the bottom right of bezel. No cracks thank god..
I think i may have a few light scratches, may get one of those fancy glass screen protectors everyone's been raving about

Not I. I had my Galaxy S II caseless without a screen protector and it held pretty well... That thing was pretty solid.
I was watching all the drop tests, and seeing how easy Gorilla Glass III actually cracks; even seeing on here where it cracked in peoples pants??? Seeing that this is a bigger device, somewhat harder to hold in my hands, and definitely a lot more slippery than the SII, I do not want to take a chance on the $649.99 device. I also like leaving the device laying flat down on a surface(still getting used to air gestures, but the notification air gesture is cool); but one of the first things to touch the surface while laying flat is the camera lens which bothered me. I also have AT&T insurance but after seeing this case, it made my choice...
Spigen Neo Hybrid Case (Satin Silver)
edit* funny I had a dream last night that I actually cracked my S4. In the dream, it felt so real and that feeling of the cracked screen just really brings you down (sorry guys for the ones who did), but when I woke up, I was so relieved...

I like that case!!
And your pants (no homo)
I think i wanna wait and see if mophie comes out with a juice pack for us.. If im adding bulk might as well add functionality too.. Besides protection

You guys crack me up. Spend hundreds for the phone and don't want to spend more than 7.00 on a case. Just Kidding
I prefer a leather pouch. Will get the Spigen one for 29.99. Has always done well for me and allows me to "use" phone with no case.
I am getting 2 32gb S4's tonight. My son still wants a case to use and keeps phone in pocket while at work. Does bending, stocking. Doesn't want case while using the phone, like me. But, doesn't want pouch. Is there a hard case that easily comes off then back on. Looked at many web sites and videos. Seems once they are on, they are not designed to be popping on and off--
OP: Based on my research, I would get some kinda case for the phone. I don't think this one will fair as well as my One S and Blackberries when dropped--
I roll caseless with my S4 and HTC One, both with Ghost Armor front and back.

If I get a case its going to be that exact one. It really is a nice looking case imo. does it add much bulk? doesnt look like it in the pics.
I sometimes dream about my phone too. makes me feel a bit obsessed lol.
I went caseless until I noticed the metal camera ring got all scratched up. Luckily I found a dead pixel on the display and was able to exchange it because of that.
With the premier discount on my account, I picked up the decent Case Mate clear case from the AT&T for 35% off. It works and the camera ring is still shiny with love.
