Hi, I have CoreDroid installed on my ATT HTC Inspire 4g. I was wondering if there was a type of cable or sync I can do to output my phones display to my cars display, as well as control the phone via touch screen on the display.
Just wondering if external devices support the touch screen. I know there is a projector output connector cable, but that does not support touch screen, as its only output.
Just thought I would ask.
Thanks,
-Eric

I was recently recovering a touch pro from a friend that had raped i mean damaged, and while reconnecting the keyboard connection, i noticed that the lcd screen had a detachable ribbon cable connection. . I was hoping that I could connect a larger 7 inch touch screen to it and mount the whole phone in my car running android as a nav/media controller. Please let me know if this would be possible. I have searched on the google, but i dont know where to start. I am very amateur with electronics, so any advice would help.
Ok so now that android is starting to support video output and dlna services and full blue tooth is there a way to hook up and external touchscreen and have it display what is on the phone screen ? basically i want to put a 10 inch touch screen in my car and connect it to my speakers and then have either a dock or wireless connection to my android phone so i can have in car nav/mp3/video/phone/video phone and well the list is endless cause android rocks . Anyone have any ideas , also want to keep the cost down .
I have got a Samsung Galaxy S. I also have an 8 inch touchscreen which I have had for some time but a friend borrowed it and lost the VGA and USB cables for it. Today I hacked up a cable using this http://pinoutsguide.com/CellularPhones-P-W/samsung_galaxy_vidout_pinout.shtml and one of these scart adapters http://img.focalprice.com/spic/201008/GXB12S.jpg. The benefit in using the scart adapter like this is that I can use it in the car with my touchscreen using the RCA plugs, or I can take it in the house and plug the scart straight into the tv
I can plug in my touchscreen (using RCA plugs) and get video output using the composite cable to the screen, and if I wanted to, I could play sound through the screens built in speaker but I prefer to route my sound through my Bury CC9960 car kit. So I have a secondary screen on my phone which works great. I am now searching for a way to use the touchscreen functionality on it as well. I believe this would require USB Host (or USB-OTG) functionality which is possible on some devices but I haven't yet tried on mine. I guess using a touchscreen would also need an app on the phone to calibrate the position of clicking on the screen with whats being displayed (and possibly to rotate the controls 90 degrees when the phone is in portrait or landscape mode).
I think with a bit of software and hardware hacking it would definitely be possible, it may be dependent on the hardware in your phone supporting USB Host mode but I would think most Android phones probably have a video-out option so you could still use this as I currently do but it may take a while longer for someone to come up with a hack to use the touchscreen functionality.
I have been searching for some way to do this since I got my Evo 4g. I am now using an Evo 3D, and would really like to be able to output to a 7"-10" stereoscopic 3d touchscreen display Hard to find... but they do exist... and my evo 3d does output 3d content over DLNA, wirelessly.
Possible but with limitations
If you have a Android tablet/device with Resistive Touch screen and HDMI out, you probably can connect an external LCD screen with Touch to it.
I do not know for tablets with capacitive screens, as I have not tried it yet
I tried this as an experiment, based on / inspired by the Martin Drashkov experiment (Google for martin drashkov and android megapad) and succeeded.
The Resistive screen tablets use - in most cases - 4 wire Resistive Touch panels.
These panels are "interchangeable". The 23 inch Resistive touch panel I used for my proof of concept worked absolutely fine and without the need to adjust settings on touch positions.
See my blog post about it:

You will void your warrenty when doing this.
Hi, I have an HTC Sensation with the 2.3.4 upgrade, and just recently bought a pair of Active-i video sunglasses (mfg by Joker Technologies) which has a "spycam" and mic built in, similar in function to the spypens and spy keyfobs. It comes with a 2.5 mm jack, which includes cables to hook up to your TV via the composite RCA inputs (mono audio), and also a tiny camera that you can plug into the jack, that's so small and distorted that it's practically unviewable, unless I don't have it angled right. The camera/monitor doesn't need to be attached when recording, can be viewed later on a PC.
My question - is there a cable that will let me hook the output of the video sunglasses to the Sensation to be able to see what's being recorded (or playback) on the Sensation's screen? I also assume I'd need an app for it. I know you can get video out from the Sensation, but this will be audio/video in.
Thanks.
Hey guys,
My HTC sensation was damaged, screen smashed. I claimed on my house insurance and they sent me a new one and allowed me to keep the old one! I'm now wondering what to do with it.
I can't use it as the digitizer is broken, so I thought maybe I could turn it into a media center for my TV? I mean, the hardware is more than capable, with it's dual core processor and 768mb of ram, it should make a good media center, right?
I'm just wondering how I can achieve this without being able to control it via the screen, the phone can be attached via a MHL cable to give it power and video out, but how can I configure the peripherals to control it? like a bluetooth keyboard.
I'm wondering how to go about this, so if you have any suggestions please let me know! It looks worthwhile.
Is there any way to use a MHL cable and USB mouse at the same time?

Hey all
My Atrix 2 was runover by a car when it fell from my pocket into a parking lot. The digitizer cracked. When I try to turn on the phone, the LED light lights up and even the buttons light up but nothing comes up on the screen, nor does it make any sound. I tried calling my phone but it doesn't ring.
1) Is there any chance that the phone can be revived by changing the digitizer & screen?
2) How can I test if the rest of the phone is working?
3) I have never used the HDMI out of the phone. I'm thinking of ordering an hdmi cable to test it. But I'm not sure if upon connecting the hdmi cable the android OS asks for some settings to be changed to enable the hdmi output from software. Does it? Because if it does, then testing with the hdmi would be pointless as I cannot see and touch the screen to change any hdmi settings.
The phone is rooted and running stock AT&T ICS 4.04 ROM.
Thanks.

Hdmi will launch automatically if you are on stock firmware.............But i suggest you show your Phone to the service center coz the car
Running over it might have cracked other key components safer to send it to service center if your in warranty......
Or u can try replacing the digitizer just check out this video..........
