Trying to decide to reverse eng s-off, unroot, and return to stock to take the phone to att. Glass lift seems to be getting a little bit worse, so I am thinking of trying the store again. I went to one store and they referred me to HTC. HTC said I could send it in for repair but can't go without mobile email with work so I'm thinking of shopping around for a cool att store that may let me swap. Wonder what my odds are. I don't necessarily want to go through returning to stock for nothing. The first root went so smooth. I have had no issues with software whatsoever so not sure if I want to gamble with messing with stuff if it leads me to more work for absolutely nothing.
Anyone else have luck with att store after remorse period was up?

I thought a phone bought in an ATT corp store was covered by 1 year warranty and swapped at the store.

I had good luck with an ATT store swapping my old iPhone 3gs that had a defective digitizer and the lady gave me the captivate. This is for my second line on my account.

They won't swap at a store after 30 days. You just have to call at&t warranty department and they will ship you a refurb. They even include tape to seal the box for sending the old one back.

Why are people turning there phones in because of the screen?

The right side of my screen is lifting. It pokes up above the frame on the right side and its getting worse.

No. Call att cust service and do a warranty swap you will get a phone in the mail (possibly a refurb) and a box to send the old one back. Turn around time is just a couple of days usually.

Got s on and then rooted back. If I can call ATT and have time, the hard part of getting eng s off reverted is done.

I tried Bubby's and it did not work. Used gfree and that worked for me. Exchanged.mine at a Device Support Center today. My gps had stopped working.

At&t nexus s sim locked?

Hi,
Im from asia and i have a friend who is from texas i wanted her to buy me a nexus s and the only one available is from at&t.she would buy full retail but the salesman said that the phone is locked!i thot all nexus were unlocked.so im confused.is it really locked?if so how can i unlock it?i really need help

it's a truth of the world that salesmen will lie to make a sale, it now appears that they will lie to prevent a sale....
no nexus S will ever be sim locked.

As far as I know every single Nexus S is factory unlocked (Google requirement)...

So does that mean the salesman is just lying?cuz at&t wanta it to be called "locked"?

I've seen too many cellphone salesmen say so many incorrect things about devices, or their own plans and policies that I usually bundle them with used car salesmen until they've "proven themselves"...

ive used this site once. they sent me the code to unlock my tmobile htc sensation within a couple of minutes. and it worked.

Man, I have searched all over for a way to unlock the device and even called ATT directly, but they refused since the phone is exclusive to them in the US. I finally shelled out the $28 and got it unlocked....

The code is 8 digits long.

So no developer has figured out a way to get the code manually?

cellunlocker . net quoted 5 minutes to 5 hours or so touting automated email and bull.
Now they emailed me after a day saying some global database upgrade or some bs like that! I work with databases and I know how any reliable business models do database upgrades. That definitely doesn't include taking their service down for 1~3 days!!
I would suggest eBay since they work hard to get a good rating!

cellunlock.net does it for $40, but you can type in a coupon code for 50% off so you can do it for $20. You have to do the "Any Samsung USA phone" or else they won't do it. Trust me, I tried haha. I just did it a few days ago.. hope this helps!

Broke my headphone jack?

I accidentally yanked my headphones out and now only one side works.I tried different headphones, so i know its the phone. I haven't been able to find a jack online to replace it. What can I do?

i have no intentions of flashing to another carrier, but several thunderbolt users i've seen have been able to flash to pageplus. you may need CDMA workshop if you want to do it yourself, i think CDMA workshop is around $100.00. there's a free demo version too, but i'm not sure that the demo would be sufficient to do this.

I'm not sure that you can 'unlock' an meid yourself, that's something the carrier has to do (with stolen phones and whatnot)
So if it's on her account, she'll have to get in touch with them herself and give her IMEI number and account details. They should then give an unlock code to make the phone usable again.
If that IMEI number has been flagged (as stolen or possibly delinquent) even an unlocking service won't be able to help you until the carrier clears it.

What you are looking for is to CLEAR the MEID/IMEI so that it can be used on another account.
You can't do that. Only the carrier can. Until the account is settled/paid with the carrier, that MEID/IMEI will be associated/assigned to that account and therefore can't be used on a different account.
Since PagePlus uses VZW towers/service (to my knowledge), you're stuck until the old account issues are settled.

Yup I'm stuck with Wi-Fi only thunderbolt this sux I guess she won in the long run although I have seen some nice prepaid phone's I seen an HTC one and some evo 4g's that have ics and are affordable virgin mobile and boost have unlimited data
