I've been searching the forums to see if I can find any info on this, but so far I haven't seen anything. I apologize if this has already been asked. I really love the CM7 Rom on the Infuse, and I really want to stick with it, but I've noticed that it won't detect the Infuse desktop dock, therefore it won't launch any sort of dock app I have installed. It works just fine in the Infuse car dock. I was wondering if anyone has found a way to include the Infuse dock detection in the CM7 Kernel, or even modify the desktop dock so that it will work with whatever method of dock detection CM7 uses. I can't even use a custom kernel with a stock AT&T Rom, because that won't detect the dock either. Is there something wrong with my phone, or am I just missing something?
you arent alone, I have the same issue

Does this work with the N1? I'm guessing it should work fine if you're on CM6 because CM6 is ****ing awesome with HID input and will pair with damn near anything, but I'm using MIUI ROM and am wondering if in general the Freedom Pro keyboard will work with the N1 rooted, unrooted, stock or custom ROM. It's a bit pricey too, so I'd like to know before I order the thing. Some dude from a tech blog said it worked with his Evo so I assume it must also work with other Android phones esp. those made by HTC, but I want to be really safe.
There are different apps on the market which allow BT keyboards to connect.
Keypro and BlueKeyboard are the 2 i can think of (the latter recommended since keypro its 10 bucks)
Since the freedom pro keyboard is pretty popular, I'd imagine it would work. Not 100% sure though.

Works fine with my N1 (stock, unrooted, 2.2.1) - bought it last week. I simply followed the online setup guide (the one supplied with the keyboard didn't have an Android section).
MIUI doesn't seem to have bluetooth keyboard HID support, as long as the keyboard is standards-compliant it should work with CM6 though.
Yeah, I've got mine in hand now. If you change it to SSP mode, it'll connect with MIUI and/or stock just fine. Pretty good too, for what it is--about the size of a netbook keyboard (possibly a bit larger) when unfolded. Takes some getting used to to type on, though.
Hi. I am asking these questions for my dad. First, he seems to be having the "Sleep of Death" issue. He is running rooted stock EE19 Leak. Any suggestions to fix that? There is no custom kernel/overclock/set cpu profiles set.
Also, if I were to flash CM7 to his phone, is there a way to get the Samsung soft keyboard on it? he likes that one a TON more than the Stock android one.
As for the SOD issue. If its straight stockd then really the only thing you can do is either reflash it back to EE19 or try a custom kernel.
As for the keyboard. I don't think that would work but you could find one on the market that is similiar. The stock gingerbreak keyboard is pretty nice and there's one on the market for a dollar that allows you to change the skin and key size and all that good stuff. I've used it for a while and love it. Hope that helps. Also if you flash CM7. That may very well fix the SOD issues as I've been running it for a decent while now and haven't had that happen yet.

Can anyone experienced with the touchpad and cm7 tell me if there's a way to just load cm7 on the touchpad and not have the Webos?
While it might be possible to completely remove webos, it is not a good idea at this time. Remember that cm7 is an alpha release right now. The only way to completely restore your touchpad, in the event of a crash, is through webos doctor. If you were to remove webos and cm7 crashes, you have no method of restoring the tablet and have just converted it into an expensive doorstop.

all you do is don't install moboot
IMHO I won't do it. I have had CM7 on my TP for a couple of weeks and it's cool but, not prefect. The WiFi comes and go and someting you and get the market place(Amazon's and Google's ) and other times it won't connect. It's not a Wifi problem because the browser works fine at the same time. When it starts to mess up I switch back to WebOS and everything is fine on WebOS.
I also would not remove it quite yet. As said above, it's nice but still not ready for 100% prime time use on the device.
I know. I can't connect to the amazon or andriod market now on CM7

I think. he wants to remove it probably for space. That's why I want to do it.

Don't know if you've already found your answer, but if you boot back into webos and then back to cm7 it will let you go back into both markets. It gets annoying, but it only takes a couple of seconds.
Not too sure which version of cm7 you are running but I run the xron mod of cm7. It is b2.9.1 and I do not have any wifi issues. The mod is super fast and responsive. Wifi connects and stays stable even when I move to different routers. Check out the xronified thread in the touchpad development section of this forum. Once installed, you will not regret it. Just sayin....

Hi all-
First, I should say I'm really happy with my stock, un-rooted TF300T. I just got the official keyboard dock, and it seems even more awesome than before.
That said, I've read here and elsewhere that many custom ROMs seem to be way more optimized than the stock builds. Between that and the idea of actually having full control when needed of my device, I'm thinking about rooting and installing a ROM (probably CM10).
My main question is, what functionality of the official keyboard dock is preserved if I install CM10 (or any other ROM or kernel)? I really like all the hotkeys, and the USB port and SDCard reader will no doubt come in handy...
I'm looking for real answers here from people that have actually installed CM10 (or really any other ROM or kernel aside from stock) and use the official dock.
I've tried a couple of ROMs
first was;

everything worked fine, dock SD slot, USB for hard drive, flash drive, PS3 pad etc
currently on;

This is a CM10 build and again it all works perfectly.
The stock one is a good one to start on as it's basically what you've got at the moment but unlocked so you can get to grips with stuff like SuperSu titanium backup etc and then start playing with the more bespoke roms.
So in general you'd say you've not noticed any loss in functionality of the dock when running cm10?

I hadn't however I've just found out that the default map is English US meaning the £ key is # etc and there's no English UK included with the ROM :crying:
Will have to start searching for a keyboard map or try another ROM, this will only affect you if you're used to using a UK keyboard

Won't be a problem for me. Guess us yanks luck out sometimes.
On what firmwares, photon q works with lapdock in mirroring mode? On stock all work. Who connected photon q to the lapdock on CM or CARBON?
I'm wondering the same thing many years later. My guess, based on what I've been able to find, is that only works on latest stock rom. (earlier stock roms display only, no keyboard/mouse/sdcard, latest support all hardware). And couldn't find anyone that got webtop to run on PQ. Lotta people with ideas of how to make it work by using atrix version, but couldn't find anyone who did it.
I ran across a lapdock 500 for cheap is the reason I ask.
Well, seems no. Just tried Jellybean, no keyboard/trackpad, and display is very zoomed in, like a resolution problem.

With CM11, keyboard & touchpad work and mouse pointer appeared on phone screen, but distorted unusable display.
With sfos 3.0.8.9, nothing.
Apparently only the final ICS works, but I haven't tested that yet as I don't have any easy way to install... if anyone actually reads this and has a twrp backup of ics, that would be great. Otherwise I'm gunna have to figure out how to run rsdlite, I think one of my old computers has dual boot to xp on it, I tried rsdlite under wine but it doesnt see my phone.
Finally tested stock ICS, and finally everything works (in mirror mode). It is an exact mirror so in apps that allow landscape, everything looks huge on the screen. Some apps allow you to shrink text within the app (i.e. terminal I could set the font size down) and I'm trying to find a browser that'll let me shrink, but still all the UI headers and gadgets adress bar etc are huge looking and can't do anything about that. On an app that forces portrait, it looks more normal cuz that's similar to the size of a modern phone (although you're then only using ~1/3 of the screen pillarboxed).
I've never used Android this old in my life, not even on PQ. But beside the point.
I don't think anyone cares about this device anymore, but this is annoying me. I just read the wikipedia article and someone (with no reference) had claimed it works with LOS. However my phone with LOS14.1 on it has a battery issue and I'm tired of taking apart these things, and I'm tired of re-installing OSs, I think I wanna keep my others on sfos & stock ics. But someday in the future I will either swap batteries or get another battery and try my LOS14.1 phone with it. Cuz if that works how well whoever put that in wikipedia says, that's awesome.
I never used ICS, I don't even know if I can root it the normal way, dunno if I can use simmod with it... all before my time... so LOS would be great if that works. Plus ics supports even less apps than kitkat.
