[Q] Anyone with a NS on BOOST? - Nexus S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am trying to flash my ns4g to boost and I am at the step where i use efs explorer to copy the files "0" and "1943"
I dont see either of these files.
IDK what to do. attached is the guide i am using.
im at the step labeled "round 6". its towards the end of the doc.

maybe it's a dumb question but i try it anyway: why are you trying a procedure developed for an HTC Evo 3D on a samsung nexus s 4g?

AT&T "Bloat-ware"

Does anyone know where i can find a listing of the at&t cab files in the windows directory that are installed during the initial start-up? Im just looking to see which cab files install was, such as the mall, or music, for example. Not that i plan on needing them but after searching the internet for a couple days now it would be nice to learn how to bring the phone back to at&t specs. Thanks.
Greg
You can hard reset and not skip the bloat or you can go into the windows directory and sort the files by their type.
But what if you want a couple at&t programs on there?

go into the windows directory and sort the files by their type.
Click to collapse
1. Open up File Explorer
2. Go to the /Windows directory
3. Sort files by type
4. Locate the .cab files
5. Choose which apps you want to install
If you are trying to bring the phone back to ATT spec (to sell or to send it back for support), the best way is to flash using an ATT stock ROM. They are posted on the ROM development forum, here is one on the front page. Since its an official ROM you dont have to mess with HardSPL or anything of that matter, it should just flash the phone.
If you are trying to get the best performance out of your Fuze, I would suggest flashing your phone with a custom ROM.

[Q] Installing Coptic and custom Fonts

Guys,
I just made the move from a 3GS to the Galaxy 4G, and need to install 2 custom fonts, that i created, on the phone.
On the iphone, i was able to add the files to the fonts folder, and change an XML file to make it work...how do i do that on this phone?
Thanks.
Anyone???
I managed to add my font files to the font folder, on the phone...fonts are still not showing up right. What do i need to do to have the phone recognize the new installed files?
Am i posting in the wrong forum?
What i am asking is impossible to do??
No one around here wants to help???
I'd like to help, but I have no idea how.
A quick Google search found this, though.

[Q] how to push files onto phone with a zip?

Ok, let's pretend I know virtually nothing about the inner workings of android phones... Can someone explain in noob terms how I would make a zip file containing some system files that I could "push" onto my rooted phone through the rom-manager? I tried to make a simple zip with some files in it but it would not allow me to install it for some reason.
I've heard of things like this ADB or whatever it's called, or maybe I have to get the zip "signed"? I dunno. Please help a poor noob out. I tried searching for it but I don't even know the proper terms yet
Lets suppose you've followed some guide how-to make an installable zip.If You have installed Rom Manager then you should be able to install cwm just by 1 click (1st option in RM if I remeber) When its installed you simply reboot your phone into recovery(this depends on actuall phone) and there simply set something like "install signed zips only"
edit : im not sure if i get your problem well maybe you need just read FAQs about your phone in its section here.

[Q] Programs to open up .bin files.

I'm trying to root my HTC Evo 4G. I'm doing it through the steps given at HTCdev.. I started off by trying to unlock my bootloader. I was just one step away from accomplishing that until i hit a speed bump. I received an email from them talking about downloading a .bin file. I tried downloading it and it wouldn't let me open it. I need to open it so i can save it to my hard drive and continue on with the process. I've tried downloading the programs my computer recommended... no help at all. I was wondering if any of you out there have a good program to download so i can open up this .bin file correctly.. if so, please post a link to the download. It would be greatly appreciated.. Thanks guys!
I don't think you open the bin file, rather just flash it.
Scratch that didn't realise you meant on your computer

How to flash?
So, how would I flash the file? I'm kind of new to this stuff, but I really want to root my phone. Is there a more easier way to root my phone other than the way given at HTCdev?
Not sure if it works, haven't tried it but just came across this http://www.androidpolice.com/2010/0...cluding-unlocking-nand-and-flashing-recovery/
Hope it helps

[Q] help me

i have deleted my os on my phone htc one sv boost mobile and cant find the original ruu for it but i found a tar.gz file from htc website and this can put my phone back to stock but i dont know how to install it to my phone remember my phone wont start up to android it has no os on it does anybody know how to do this please lt me know [email protected]
man, calm down
first, i suggest you to look inside that tar.gz file and see (check on forum if needed) if it can be flashed right away
if not, search for some way to convert it into something flashable, then use fastboot.exe (utility that comes with free ADB toolkit) to dead-flash your phone and hopefully drag it back from the world beyond
unfortunately i have no deeper experience, try asking someone else more expert directly
i hope i was useful
