K-9 Mail + Juice Defender Ultimate = no mail sync - Android Apps and Games

OK, so Juice Defender and K-9 Mail are both quite popular.
I am running CM7 on an HTC Aria (Liberty). Trying to get a hair more battery life with JD, but unfortunately with JD enabled, my email does not sync, ever, using K-9 mail.
K-9 is set to poll every 15 minutes for two accounts (no push).
JD is set up with essentially the default settings. K-9 is on the list of apps to work all the time including screen off.
Anyone have any clues about how to make these two apps work together?

Don't know how to get those two things working together but if you are trying to achieve good battery life outta your device then please uninstall JD, it causes more drain than saving it. Read XDA topics, it has been stated already.
Regards.

[REQ] "Sleep-Mode" App

I currently use push email every 20 minutes and while this is great, it's annoying being woken up at 4am in the morning by your phone vibrating because you've just got a text from Domino's Pizza.
I have no idea but I'd hope a "Sleep" toggler app would be pretty simple. Something similar to the Wifi/Bluetooth togglers I'm currently using, but whereby one press turns off all data, wifi, bluetooth, email pushes, syncs etc - basically everything that you don't need while you're asleep - and then pressing again puts them back as they were.
Or, even better, a tweak that allows you to schedule email pushes when to and not to run (ie. don't download emails between 11pm and 8am).
I could do it manually, but let's be honest, that's a faff to do every day, and it'd be nice to just have a quicklink for it all.
Thanks in advance .

Do you use push email for Hotmail? Google? Outlook?
I know with Hotmail, you can tell it to sync between certain times. Check around, there may already be options on sync times without needing a third party app.
I use Gmail and a private web server currently.
In G-Profile by ageye you can create time-based profiles with certain functions. I disabled all phone, bluetooth and data-connections over the night. Very useful program, but it costs.
I also use G-profile, it will do what you want and it's only 4.99 euros. A worth while investment.
There are a few free alternatives as well, try using search and I'm sure you'll find them.
Another vote for G-profile well worth the €4.99
And another vote for G-Profile.... i used to use phoneAlarm for my profiles at first but G-profile is AWESOME!
You can make a night profile and the phone wont do anything when an email comes in at night.
You might also consider chaning the value of peak times and non peak times and to not check as frequently during the night....

G-profil works fine for my HD2, but I have 1 problem. If I want to set some tel numbers to ring in night profile when all other calls should be rejected, how to do this? I think the exeption does not work on HD2. I used to use SPB profil with my Touch Pro and it was very good with it's white list and black list. But they say it does not work on HD((
I use SPB phone suite (not free). It has almost the same functions than G-Profile. It is completelyintegrate in Mobile Shell, and every night I disable Phone, Data, and all connections.
If you're looking for a free app, you can give a try to Wireless Time.

It's free, as far as I know, and it do the same things.
Hope it help.
PS: you can schedule your activeSync for not retrieving message at night, too...
It's a server setting in activeSync

K-9 mail

Noticing today my internet modem and router lights flashing away, discovered it's my K-9 email, and in the app "OSmonitor" K-9 is using between 6% and 26%
Only if I disable the K-9 "push" does it decrease all the usage, settings are the same as I've always had. (trying it with "poll" once per minute)
Wondering if anyone understands well the settings for it. I realize with the setting it's on, it's always checking for mail, but didn't seem to be taking internet and OS resources so much before.
Thanks

[Q] Poor battery life [with answer]

Could not understand why my new device was burning through it's battery like it was a desktop computer. I can't remember where but I stumbled across the application OS monitor and took a look to see anything untoward.
Well I have an exchange email server that I use to sync all my contacts/calendar and emails.
It would appear that the inbuilt google mail app tends to CONSTANTLY drain power whilst it is set up, I did have push mail activated and it was set to do background data et al.
Removing this has fixed my battery drain issue and I'm now using Touchdown to manage my email exchange, with push mail activated and having no such problems at all!
I'm not suggesting that everyone switches to Touchdown but it is definitely worth trying a different client if you are having problems with poor battery performance!
Hope this helps someone as it was REALLY beginning to annoy me, not even lasting a night out!
Did Google show up under your battery use?

Not quite sure what you mean? OS monitor showed the system using a few resources every now and again but mail was using 30-40% almost constantly draining the battery!
Also found that leaving WIFI enabled uses VERY little battery and so I've kept that alive so that the current mail app I'm using doesn't poll and get no connection all the time (personally what I think was happening is due to me living in the middle of nowhere there was no signal and so it kept polling until it could find a signal which was using up resources).

[Q] reg. stock gmail app vs K-9 in andorid-activesync

As we all know, keeping "activesync" on would drain your Android phone's battery pretty quickly. but if i turn in off, "push" does not work. when a thrid party app like K-9 mail can deliver mail almsot at real times with only background data on(and push off) why cant we get same functionality on stock gmail app?

Knox mail sync battery drain

Hi guys,
I've used my Galaxy S6 for two months through work and I like it... sort of.
Lag spikes are normal, compared to my Moto X 2014 which runs smoothly. However, this is not what really bothers me.
I've set up Knox to work with my corporate Exchange server.
The mail app has been set to manually sync, as push and timed sync drained my battery incredibly fast.
Even now with sync settings on manual, the phone chews through at least 5-10% per hour. As soon as I disable my email connection or disable Knox, the battery drain stops.
Is there an alternative app that can be used in Knox? I've tried Outlook but it doesn't allow me to specify a certificate or enforce SSL.
I would prefer to use something other than the built in email app, as that seem to be the source according to other forum posts.
Even better: is there any way of plugging the battery drain without loosing Knox email capability?
Thanks!
I'm using the email app Nine in Knox and it's great. No problems that I can see. Nine is a paid app but there is a trial period.
Another one to try is Mailwise. It's totally free.
