Hey guys. I got the best responses on my last tropic, (razr v rezound v nexus) and to clarify it, I would like to know everyone's personal opinion on what 2 phones to get. Nexus v Rezound. I get close to picking one, then I change my mind because I feel like I might be missing out on the capabilities of the other. Sorry for annoying you guys, I just think this is the best resource for help.
THANKS!
Deciding factors-
NO REMOVABLE STORAGE for the Nexus D: I have a 32GB Micro SD..... What? How will I use it?
Rezound- not as hackable as the nexus, not as many custom ROMs.

Hello,
I thought posting it here would offer non biased opinions by people, since I'm going be asking that I'm trying to decide between galaxy tab or DHD or nexus s. I'm having a hard time deciding, i love htc devices but sammy's tab and nexus s seem very good also. So, I'm looking for your opinion on this, I know the specs of each device.
Wait either a tablet or a phone? Are you planning on using the tablet as a phone or would you have a regular one for use?
Also, I would say to wait because of all of the new phones just announced at CES and with MWC right around the corner, amazing things are going to be happening very, very soon.
But to answer your question now, what are you going to mostly use it for? Are you planning on hacking or... ?

Hi,
Google Nexus uses Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS but Samsung and DHD are using older version. The processor speed of Desire HD is much better. DHD has 8MP camera and other are using 5MP. Comparatively, I recommend DHD tablet.
So, I end up getting the sammy tab. The 7inch screen would be awesome to watch stuff on and it owns the ifail(ipad) in all ways.
Well im glad you like it, but FWIW, the ipad os the best tablet out right now.
It isn't just selling because it was made by apple; I have one myself and I love it to death for what it does.

Hey everyone, just a quick question...
I have the LG Thrill, and I'm tired of the small amount of dev support for it. I want see on Craig's List if anyone is willing to trade a Nexus S for it.
Do you think I will miss the dual-core processor and HSPA+ all that much? I know that the Nexus S is a year old, and even though I used to have a phone with similar specs, I can't remember how noticeable the difference is. I'm hoping it won't be that much, because I know the Nexus phones are known for being fast and smooth, but does anyone have any input?
Also, if you do think it is worth the trade, what kind of offer do you think I should make on Craig's List? There are very few scratches along the side and the phone works perfectly.
Thanks in advance for any help
You can't go wrong with the nexus. I just got rid my evo 3d for the nexus
sent from a sexy nexus s 4g
more over, the ICS update is coming and the phone will be far far smoothest and fast
Thanks. So should I offer just a straight up trade, or is one worth more than the other? Because the Thrill just came out and the Nexus S is a year old (extra old when you consider the fact that the US will soon have the Galaxy Nexus), but they're still being sold for about the same price.
hey guys,
im looking to buy a phone in the upper mid-range category and im really confused between the s2, nexus and the htc one s. the s2 was my original choice but apart from the sd card and the normal sim slot it is inferior to the htc one s. on the other hand, the nexus may not have the fastest processor of the lot but it does have the advantage of being a google phone and thus has a extremely large developer base. I am keen on getting the one s now but i've managed to confuse myself once again. there have been reports that the one s is unable to maintain its black color when scratched and that the phones have had white marks on them because of the ceramic finish . and the lack of an sd card slot is a huge turnoff plus it only takes micro-sims that make the device even more inflexible...
i am utterly clueless here, i would be really grateful if someone could help...
and btw i am very keen on loading different kernels and custom roms on my device and i will definitely be overclocking, and im looking for a phone that is future proof atleast for 2-3 years...
P.S: this will be my first android device and i want my journey with android to be a pleasant one, so guys, please help me.
and one more thing,
I am not asking which is the best phone of the lot, i am asking which phone will be the best FOR ME! so no fanboy rants and petty quarrels please...!!
I personally prefer the Galaxy Nexus due it being a google phone and yes it does have a HUGE developer base both here and inside google. One of the main advantages is that it offers a pure google android experience, so no carrier bloatware apps or overlays.
While the HTC One S is a more powerful device, it does come with the Sense UI overlay on top of Android 4.0. Some people prefer it, while others don't like it. It all depends on the person. Also, on a side note, there is no real way of completely removing the Sense UI with a new ROM without causing some problems.
The Galaxy S2 is still a good device, but will have the Samsung Touchwiz overlay. Though Touchwiz can be removed without a problem.
Both the S2 and HTC One S will have slower Android upgrades than the Galaxy Nexus, which receives almost immediately when it is available.
Overall, both the HTC One S and the Galaxy Nexus will be future-proof as they are capable of running the future Android OS like Jelly Bean. However, the only difference is that the Nexus will receive the update much earlier than the One S. This is not to say the S2 won't get the update, but it will take some time as well.
Aesthetics wise, all phones are beautifully designed and thin, so no problems there.
Have fun choosing as they are all amazing phones!
thanks for the reply. i really dont mind if the updates come slowly. but if the s2 will get them eventually, i'm gonna go for it. the nexus is extremely dificult to come around in my locality and from how much i am aware of, the only assets that the nexus has, over the s2 is a better screen and a larger developer support since its a google phone. apart form that the s2 is better in all regard. i dont really care about touch wiz or sense. I prefer the stock android UI anyway. since that can be obtained in the s2, im gonna go for it. plus by overclocking im sure one can get scores of 4000+ in quadrant on the s2. so exynos is almost as fast as the snapdragon s2 if not faster...
cool. glad I helped Good luck with the new phone!
GNex
Desire S • Fallout V2.0.0 • xda premium
if the Gnexus is not available i would definately take the SII any day. While the One S has the S4 processor it doesnt have a micro SD so limited to 16GB and no removable battery. SII any day.
Go buy the Nexus. You'll have more fun with it to flash etc ...!
Galaxy Nexus for sure. I went from iPhone to HTC sensation then Evo3D but both played up. Got the Nexus and its the best mobile ive had.

hey guys, finally dropping Sprint and switching to a GSM carrier looking to go unlocked and prepaid and i have it narrowed down to three devices
1. HTC One X (international version)
2. Galaxy S3 (international version)
3 GSM Galaxy Nexus
If anyone can give me pros and cons to any or all, it is greatly appreciated. also if there is a device around the corner worth waiting for please let me know, Thanks for any help given
-Matt McKay
Edit: going to use it on T-mobiles monthly 4g plan for 30$ so itd be nice if it works on their HSPA+ network
I'd have to go with the galaxy 3 as well. I went and checked out the HTC one today and was kind of disappointed when I was told that you couldn't change the msd card or anything :'( but I like the slimness of it. I would pick the s3 just because it's like a thinner version of the s2 but with a couple of new perks. Hope this helps.

In my opinion is Galaxy S3
I have looked at the SG3 several times as i wanted to get a phone for my wife as a present.. she is a tech geek too, so the lack of an SD card is a factor.
And while it is subjective....for being an expensive phone, the SG3 just feels like a toy. Especially compared to the One-X. Maybe it's my opinion in the past over Samsung manufacturing standards on other phones affecting which it's affecting my view on this one, but I can't get past it. The one-X has a comfortable weight...it feels as if if it's construction was thoroughly designed and planned to every detail. Not the SG3 though. I am not saying it's not a study phone, it probably is, it's just feels tacky.
I guess if I am going to pay $600 for a phone, at minimum, I want it to feel like it.
Oh yeah...say all you want about resolution or screen quality, but the One-X screen leaves the SG3 miles behind.

Thank you to all for your help thus far, am currently leaning towards HTC One X merely because of htc build quality (currently on an OG EVO 4G) and the fact that i kind of drool over the design, even if i am limited to edge on tmobile with it. Are there any major cons to the HTC? Non removeable battery and no sd card i already know of, anything major?

From what I've read about the HTC, the only drawbacks are the sd and battery. Other than that I hear it's amazing. Of course I only know what I've read about and don't actually own the phone. If you can deal with the sd and battery deal, then I would say go with the 'one'. (see what I did there? Fancy word play on my part)

S3 Hands down as it has the removable battery and sd card slot. battery is an improvement over nexus and s2
I personally would go with the Nexus (my current phone). If it were between the S3 and the One X, I would go with the HTC. Touchwiz is disgusting and that whole nature theme is a joke. Samsung didn't fail with this phone...but it could be much better.
I'd say go with the HTC One X. Going pretty cheap sim free now and it works out much cheaper overall if you buy a sim only contract.

I would go with S3 for now, but if you can wait maybe a Galaxy Note 2
I wouls say too SG3 but even its a 2.5 SG2 to my view ...
Hey xda community I need help deciding on which phone I should get next since I have an upgrade with Sprint. I've done some research and I'm stuck between the Moto X, HTC One, Galaxy S4 and the Galaxy Note 2. I will most likely install a ROM but I only like complete ROMs with no down sides to them as in Camera, video bugs ect.
I was really going for the Moto x because of the talk feature so I can change music in my car but the 16gb internal and no expansion SD card is a disappointment. I like uniqueness but what I really like about Android is the ability to remove your battery and have added memory so the Moto X doesn't seem like a good choice for me. Same with the HTC One but they do have a 32gb internal memory but I can't remove the battery. I just don't want to install a ROM and freeze and have no control to be able to pop out the battery and reboot to recovery ect. I love the Note 2 features and battery life. I'm only concerned about the size with a case on it because I always get an otter box. I've been out of the scene for a while so I wanted to get some suggestions from you guys. I'm coming from The Photon 4G running CNA Android 4.1.1. I loved that phone especially with the CNA ROM but it's time to upgrade and I want to make the right choice.
I like to stand out from the crowd and be unique. I want 4G LTE. I really want to be able to add a 32gb mini SD card and be able to remove the battery. I basically like to have the most control of my phone. I will eventually install a ROM on my new phone whatever it being, if it's worth it. I want a smooth running phone. The Photon has given me trouble here and they're kind of frustrating but it was from the ROM but I wouldn't complain because it was much better than running stock Android 2.1.1.
I just want to get some suggestions and maybe some experience from you guys. Any reply helps. I appreciate it. Thanks.
Edit: I'm leaning towards the HTC One but will not being able to remove the battery cause problems with installing ROMs? I might not even instal a ROM since 4.4 KitKat is coming to HTC One
Note 2's pen is great

I looked a little at those but I think I'm going to go with the S4. The Note doesn't have gorilla glass and will be too big in my pocket with a case
Galaxy S4!
You already answered yourself. Galaxy S4 is the way to go....like you said the note 2 is going to be too big with protection case ect. I have the Galaxy S4 and the size is just right, removable battery and good rom support.

Ok, so you should buy the S4 :good:
Ok thanks guys. I just needed to make up my mind I guess. What ROM would you guys reccomend installing? I think I'm going to install Sac's ROM but is there any bugs or problems? I like complete ROMs.
