Ok, Guys i used the Viruos Inquisition and that was the ICS release and the first one for ICS. I decided to go ahead and try out the Virtuous Quattro...I guess i made a stupid mistake when doing so because when i wiped the Virtuos Inquisition and went ahed and installed the Virtuous Quattro..the phone boots up but as soon as you get the Virtuous Quattro logo it starts the animation of it and freezes right there following with a reboot. Now i hope the device is not bricked or in this case if it is i can fix it, i can go to the recover and stuff, But right now i have no idea how to get this going. I wiped the Virtuous Quattro and the phone boots up with that white htc screen, and keeps rebooting..Please walk me through this if you feel merciful for my idiocy..

Hello
Now, don't worry, this is not what is defined as "Bricked".
I can see that you have did a Full wipe of your ROM, which means, currently, your phone do not have a Firmware supported ROM installed on it.
Here are the ways you could try that will/may solve your issue.
1. Reboot your device into recovery and Connect it VIA USB and copy 3.24 RUU & Virtuous Quattro into your ROOT SD Card folder.
2. Flash 3.24 RUU from HERE, MAKE SURE YOUR SUPERCID is 11111111 - your device should reboot after Installing. Pull battery after it Reboots.
3.Eject your SD card and Reboot your device into bootloader, Select boot into recovery and insert the SD card back. Install the latest Virtuous Quattro from HERE.
4.Reboot.
This should work. Do keep me posted & thank me if it helped!
Cheers!
Thank you for your reply. I tried to do what you stated above, a when i tryed to update the firmware it says
Incorrect CID, I have no clue how to check that CID now

Alright, After reviewing your problem, Have you tried reflashing Viruos Inquisition? Does it boot?
Hopefully I can help.
This is what i had to do to make it work. I downloaded the ADB tools so i can use the cmd promot in windows and wrote the cid to 11111111, it said tmobl or something like that before. I flashed the firmware to the one CursedBat linked and the latest one and the device update the firmware. Also here's the catch when it starts updating the firmware, it will reboot, and continue updating so whoever has a similiar problem make sure you don't shut your device off at that time, it will display update completed and provide you with the option to shut the device. It may take a bit to complete so be sure to be patient and let it work it's magic. Virtues Quattro works well so far for me.
P.S i just read your post TechnoIsMyReligion! I am not sure how i end up being in that post you linked before, but you provided a correct solution as well. I should had done that before Thanks for your replies. When it displayed incorrect CID for me when tried to update the firmware i realized i need to look for a solution with CID.

1. Check your CID using fastboot getvar cid and MID using fastboot getvar mid
2a. If your CID and MID are supported by default, navigate to point 3.
2b. If your CID or MID is not supported by default, do this: (you do it at your own risk)
2c. Open PG58IMG.zip (don't extract it)
2d. Open android-info.txt in text editor
2e. Add your cidnum: <your CID> or modelid: <your MID> to the list, save file and close archive
3. Place PG58IMG.zip on your SD card
4. Boot your device holding power button + vol down button
5. Follow instructions on the screen

Hold the power button until the phone shuts off, then try booting it up and see if it actually boots
EDIT: Just seen you did try to reboot...my bad. Like guy above me said try an RUU
after googling to death the only one i could find is a exe that needs to be dont via the phone being in the on working state, got any links for a ruu to flash?
The sticky at the top of the forum has the links:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1671237
You can flash an RUU while in bootloader mode.
Your problem is that you didn't unlock the bootloader and you are running a third party recovery. The security "features" of the bootloader being locked and you being S-ON prevent the phone from booting.
Well you would have had to have rooted it first before installing a custom recovery like twrp.
To get back, you'll want to:
Download the RUU file from this link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1670238
Download the HTC driver from this link
HTCDriver3.0.0.007.exehttp://downloads.unrevoked.com/HTCDriver3.0.0.007.exe
Install the HTC driver and restart your computer
Plug in your phone and run the Ruu.exe file
This will put your phone back to the way it was when you bought it.
Then, take some time and read the threads about rooting and installing twrp before trying again.
Also, try not to post questions in the Dev section.

First, you double posted in the Dev section,, if you browse this forum you'll quickly realize that there a no other questions in here..... As such your thread is going to be moved, and you'll probably be flamed more than I'm flaming you now.
Second, if your bootloader was locked how did you try to flash TWRP, If you're still locked are you tampered? Just flash a stock RUU. If 1.85 doesn't work flash a newer one, and then pray to god someone roots it.
Third, with the S-OFF ,, well I would like to know what this has to do with anything as this hasn't been achieved yet. You obviously did a ton of reading before you embarked on your noob flashing.
If you're locked and not tampered (which I doubt) just take your phone back to the store and give them some BS like your battery is bad and have them swap you phone out (if you're ATT).
EDIT: I re-read this. Ignore everything I said with the exception of you posting in the wrong forums. I see you don't even have a One X .... dude ... quit posting here and make a new thread

AFAIK, there is no ROM Toolbox that works for this device. That was probably your biggest mistake. Don't install/flash/mod things willy-nilly before doing the proper research. Every Android device is rooted, S-Off etc. a bit (or very) differently. Lots has changed on HTC phones since the Thunderbolt. Just because something worked for that phone, does not mean it will on the One X.
Back off, and do the proper research before doing anything else. Stick to this subforum (AT&T One X) and don't go Googling around on random sites. Everything you need is here, and safe. At least you have bootloader, so you can probably recover. Mess with it more, without knowing what you are doing, and you may well hard brick it.
You can start your research by reading the sticky at the top of this forum that says not to post questions in Development.

Link is broken, can't tell what you are trying to do.
Your best bet is to flash a stock RUU, I'd start with the 1.85 one. RUUs can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1671237
Make sure your bootloader screen says LOCKED or RELOCKED. If it somehow got UNLOCKED in your tinkerings, you will need to get RELOCKED (RUU will not run with bootloader unlocked). But that is likely not the case.
Hi guys, yesterday i tried to root my desire hd and flash a rom called icecoldsandwich 8.5, i started my phone and it got stuck at the bootlogo from ics. Then i think i deleted it from my sd card and now i can't do anything with my phone. i can enter the boot menu but nothing more.. if i select recovery, i get a red exclamation mark. I hope it can be fixed
thanx
Moved to General Q&A.
just download a ruu that is only for your device but be careful ( branded ones and unbranded)
then just put it in fastboot via bootloader and flash it and it will boot up

If you read what they posted, they cannot get to the boot menu. I have a RUU program designed to run remotely from my computer over USB that works wonders if I ever have a problem. I could find the stock .img for your phone and send you the program where you would just plug your phone in over USB, run the program, locate your RUU file (which would be included) and your done. Should be back to normal, worked for me when I accidentally bootlooped. PM me for more info. This will require you to re-root your phone.

Not sure if it's you posting or some one with the same issue, but check this out http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1920636
read the 2nd post and try it out. if it is indeed a fried emmc chip there are a few way(not sure 1 or 2 out there) to salvage ur phone, or u could just replace the chip, there is a post some where in general section.
I think I guessed the problem.
Someone wanted to update ENG S-Off Desire S (with old ENG bootloader) to official ICS RUU. The update "completed successfully", but since the bootloader didn't let the update overwrite itself - the official update can't work, because it expects /system/lib partition that doesn't exist on old ENG bootloader.
The solution is to flash new ENG bootloader (7.xxxx), found in Development section, and then run official RUU again. It'll work and the phone will work again too.
By the way, the solution can be easily found if searching - I already remember such a thread. "Red triangle" is a stock recovery, search could have easily told you that. And goldcard is useless by itself, it's needed for flashing RUU.
And if the above doesn't work, because RUU gets stuck updating - address the "fried eMMC" post.
You cant go wrong with seniors like Jack_R1 watching over desire s forum. :fly away:
I was given an HTC Sensation by a friend of mine because the device wouldn't boot.
I've done alot of research and tried everything I could find to get my phone to boot into even recovery but nothing's worked.
I've unlocked the phone using the HTC-dev method. I've flashed 4EXT recovery but I still can't get into recovery.
Also when I use adb it says "Error: device not found"
I cannot boot my phone it will just sit at the HTC screen and won't go any further.
My device is S=on.
Can you get in bootloader? Take battery out and sdcard as well. Put battery, press volume down + power and what do you get on screen?

What firmware version you have? S-OFF? When you go into recovery, from bootloader what happens? Phone just restarts or...?

About the people that have issues here. Are you all with unlocked bootloader and S-OFF? Also, whats your firmware version? You could try to follow the link I gave earlier. I used that and it worked for me.
Don't want to create another thread....
I flashed firmware 3.33 yesterday and the phone ran very well all day today however it has stopped booting now and even won't take me to the bootloader to access anything.
It happened just now after I took Titanium Backup and then tried to reboot into recovery to backup current ROM however it failed and instead landed me into the Bootloader which didn't allow me to go into Recovery.
The last thing I remember is that it was showing "Bootloader warning" overhead just below -Firmware-3.33- title on which I choose to turn it off.
After turning off, I tried switching it on but failed. Tried many times but nothing worked out. Waited and thought the phone might boot up after keeping phone and battery separated however no luck either.
Did I just bricked my device for no reason?
