Whats the best custom rom for the Infuse? I would like the following in the rom:
*Customizable
*Gingerbread or Icecream Sandwitch Based
*Fast + Stable
*Preferably Supports ALL Features (HDMI, etc.)
*Dosn't Slow Down Phone or Lower Battery Life
Hopefully Someone Can Point Me In The Right Direction! Thanks In Advance!

Well the best from what i want out of a rom.
I've been running the maxq rom for the last few weeks and I love it. Great battery life and really smooth. Good speeds too. Just try one out for a week or so if you don't like it try another one.

if i had a nickle for every time someone posted this thread on xda..lol bro its all preference some are faster but have less stuff some are slower but have alot of stuff then theres in between ...
so far I have tried Cyangenmod 7.3.1, Modacco and MIUI. I have been enjoying MIUI the most as its the most stable and easiest to customize, plus I feel that its been the fastest. Battery life hasn't been as good for me as I was hoping though and I miss the feature in cgm which lets you get rid of notifications, such as voice mail just by swiping them to the left/right.
I like SuperAOSP

Oxygen is possibly the fastest while MIUI is more complete. I also use to switch between the two.
miui...with stok launcher or adw lancher...
very...nice...now i'm looking for the best kernel..
I use Mikeyinid's stock-ish rom with Mathkid's matr1x kernel and it is perfect if you don't want a lot of clutter and if you like vanilla. It also has bln and voodoo capabilities plus it is oc'd to 1.2ghz to boot. Super fast, super stable.

There is no such thing as best ROM. It's all about preferance and it varies from user to user. If you've tried them all then why don't you decide which one was better for you and keep it?
Just to give you a tip, the most popular ones are oxygen, CM7 ( and nscollab which is based on it), MIUI, superaosp and infinity. Try them and see which one do you like the most.
supeaosp 8.6
I like Nscollab. Fast and good with battery. Sometimes reboots.

I love the infused roms!!!! (Thanks GtG) I was just curious what else is out there... I did try Bionix Infinity and loved the visuals of it but to me it was more buggy than Infused. What do you guys recommend or do I have the best of the best currently.
Thanks for reading
I think infused is probably the best right now.

I really liked the battery life in Serendipity VII.
Right now my Infuse has CM7 on it, which is experimental but usable as long as you're willing to accept its limitations, and has some nice features (such as flexible theming) not present in Samsung-derived ROMs. Which reminds me, I need to sync the repo and rebuild...
I really like DlevROM V5.0 , Its Fast!!!
It's my 3rd day on MIUI.. and i'm loving it.
I had Infused before this, and that was good too, but I like MIUI more. Specially the music controls.
I just wish one of these ROMs would have 4-digit pin without having to press OK.
Isn't gtg jumping ship though?

Yes. This doesn't mean Infused is not going to be available. It's still gonna be good for when you want to switch to something more reliable while people fix all the first bugs on their ROMs based on the official GB ROM.

Hi guys I was wondering what you prefer in terms of ICS rom on the captivate. I am looking for pure speed here. Any info would be great.

download a few and test each phone is a bit different
Thanks for the suggestion. I tried a few, favourite is dark knight 5 rom with Icy glitch kernel. It is very smooth and I get about 1700 in quadrant. I see some people get well above 2000 in quadrant. How do the achieve this. I know quadrant isn't really important but just curious on how people got scores like that.
Dave,
Quad is worthless imho

Cannot complain about my ROM. Enjoyed it twice - while cooking and while running!
Infinitum with Devil kernel 0.55 is by far the most amazing experience I've had on my cappy. And I've tried every rom and kernel config. Second best for me was Slim ICS and then Docs Master ICS v11. For kernels, Devils new i897 kernel blows them away, but semaphore used to be my favorite as it tweaked the most stable. Icy Glitch close behind in third but could be considered second by some for its over locking capability/stability. Keep in mind these are my opinions and what I've tested and works best on my device. Each device will vary.

Why do people keep saying that each phone runs better on a different kernel or Rom? Aren't they all supposed to be made from the same chips? I don't know which ones my phone like but i know that some work better than others.

I would recommend simply aokp.

because each phone's chips are made slightly different because a dust size difference can make a difference in the phone. It would be impossible to make every chip 100% identacle and cost efficient. Also, between builds there is slight difference that make them different then previous build

I've only tried Dark Knight and CM9 nightlies.. with stock kernel.. and DK was beautiful, but sluggish and glitchy for me. CM9 nightlies have been pretty solid and quick and responsive.
I have to vote for the latest simply aokp odexed version with devil kernel.

Best ROM threads don't last here. The best (fastest, whatever) ROM is the one that runs properly on your phone. Try them on for size and make your choice.
My wife has been running Fasty 2.4 for several months. It has started messing up and I will do a master reset tonight. I'm on a VZW phone so my attention to her Captivate and the options are limited. Looking for recommendations from you pros out there.
Need something VERY stable, relatively fast. Suggestions?
I was worried and put off flashing an ICS rom for a long time. Today they're working very well. I'd suggest Doc's, or Simply AOKP, or Slim ICS. All seem fairly clean and fast. Doc's will have the most preinstalled goodies, the others you can load up on your own with whatever apps you prefer.
SlimISC - the best. Slim + devil kernel - wonderful
Sent from my SGH-I897 using XDA
If flashing an ics ROM beware of the encryption bug which renders your internal sd card useless.

For a wifes phone, id stick with simply stock. Everything works and its super stable.

The best ROM is the one that works right for you and your phone. Try a few on for size and make your decision.
I'm just wondering peoples personal opinion on which they prefer so you don't need to tell me to flash them and make a decision for myself.

Find it has the best battery life also. I like all the customizations of aokp but find the battery life a bit less

I would check out SkyICS and Nexusmod in the developers section, they're progressing pretty well with the official ICS. I personally use CM9 or AOKP but thats just my preference :good:
I've been running sky since I had my rocket but I think I wanna try embrio because Mohan makes nice kernels so his roms have to be ok.cm9 and aokp gave me problems with the radio switching way to much but they were solid roms.

Jay, did you ever find a solution to the radio switching on aosp roms? In the same boat.

Battery life on paranoid android. 9 hours of moderate use and still at 60%. Wifi on most of the time and LTE on at all times.

definitively Sky-ICS, best rom I have tried. Double if not Triple of the battery life of stock.
I was on the Sky ICS Rogers official from SeanZ and thought i would never change because it was so awesome in every way. Then he came out with speed dragon official At&t and this rom is amazing http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1763195. super fast good battery and for me so far it has been flawless. I am really confused I like all his stuff. I swear this man never sleeps.

I'm on Seanz's SKY-ICS as well, although I'm on 4.2 Dragon and the guy doesn't lie. This thing runs faster than the speed of light. I'm not sure I'll ever be able to go back to anything else!
What the difference between his regular base and the dragons one is battery life worse...is it faster because its overclocked? I'm thinking of switching over to it do help me out lol

The Dragon one does not overclock. It's just insanely fast because Seanz ripped out everything that was not completely necessary. And I mean EVERYTHING. (i.e. some people miss the stock calendar and calculator apps that he ripped out )
Cool I'm going to flash the dragon right now wish me luck lol.
