Headphone Problems!!! - HTC Sensation

Headphone problems!...I have 3 different pairs of headphones with mics on them...every time I use any of them..everyone says it sounds like I'm rubbing the Mic on my shirt...and its not even touching it!....I'm I the only one with this problem?....help please!!!!

It sounds like the headphones are not grounded well. That would explain the "rubbing" noise on the mic. I dont know how ti fix it, but you could try cleaning the most top pin (conector) with some medical alcohol, or you could take the battery out of the phone for 15-30min to see if the excess charge fades. These are all just theories but cant hurt.

Do you have a Wireless bluetooth Headset to Test.. if it does have the same problem

Do you physically move the headphones and/or wire while talking, that could cause that if they are cheap unshielded headphones. What headphones are you using, stock? I tried recording something through my stock headphones and it sounded good.

I think that the ground part on the headphone Jack is grounding out on the metal battery cover...because the paint is miss around the hole on the battery cover....and I have 2 factory..and one 1 skull candy....all 3 of the people say they can't hear me...I don't play or move the wire...

then i really dont know, take it to be repaired, I had something similar with some cheap headphones, but stock always work.
edit- I opened the back cover and i see that the grounding pin is on the phone, its the small copper spring that you can see sticking out of the headphone jack when you remove the back cover.

I found out what was wrong.....on the battery cover around the hole for the Jack...I had some paint miss...and the headphones was grounding out on it.. I swap battery cover with my buddies...which ever use the headphone Jack...all the paint is still there...and it works great...put mine back on...and it started to mess up again....so...I'm calling T-Mobile today and talking to them!...thanks everyone!

A Jays Three in ear headphones review

This is a short review of the A Jays Three in ear headphones.
I ordered these headphones because of the bass heavy buds, the tangle free cable and because of the look.
They fit really nice in my ears and they weigh only 14 grams.
If your looking for nice ear phones with bass heavy buds I can recommend these.
They come with a nice travelling case, only thing is that it is really hard to get them in there! Plus they come with 4 different ear cushions and a air plane plug.

If you have any questions I will answer them.
PS.
I had the iBeats by Dr. Dre before these, they fell out my ear every time because they were heavy. Plus the right ear piece broke a few days ago.
(Sorry for my english, i'm trying to improve it)

[Q] How to replace vibration motor

My vibration motor in the Nexus s broke. Now I want to replace it. I'm planning to order this motor: http://www.tvc-mall.com/details/Replacement-Vib-Vibration-Motor-for-All-Samsung-Models-SAMO-SAM/
I opened up my Nexus to a degree where I could see the motor, but I couldn't see how the wires are connected. Do I have to braze the wires or can I just plug them in or how does it work?
Thanks!
Are you positive it is broken? Mine stopped working on me a few times before. I would tap the phone firmly, powered it off and tap again and reboot. Problem solved. Just a fyi

Yes I'm sure it is broken.

A 15W soldering iron should run you around $10 US.
I highly recommend soldering wires on random scrap if this is your first experience at soldering or you're gonna end up with a mess.
Edit: Or you can cut the wires, strip the ends, twist them together and solder (then cover them with heatshrink/electrical tape).
Should be easier for a beginner to do this than solder on tiny pads and remove epoxy from a PCB.

Thanks, pretty stupid, I didn't think of that. I might not even have to solder at all if i twist them together tightly and then bind them with tape.
riichii, have you managed to do it? I'm positive my vibration motor is broken as well, but I cannot find an exact replacement online. A friend of mine had a broken samsung j700 lying around so I salvaged the motor from it and soldered it in my nexus s, but it didn't work (you could hear the motor rattling, but it wasn't vibrating enough, it was less than my broken original motor). I was wondering if the part you linked was working or not. Thanks

Clothespin Earbud/Cord Management

Just a little something I put together, but all my RL friends wanted one, so I'm putting this up here in case people find it useful.
What you need:
wooden clothespin (plastic will also work, but the wooden ones look nicer)
zip tie
earbuds
the clothespin must be this kind/shaped like this, the V-shaped ones will not work:
{

}
Basically you zip tie your earbuds to one of the clotherpin's arms. Tie roughly at the middle of the earbuds, but adjust to suit your needs. Then you wrap the cord down the clothespin and have the pin grasp the end of the cord to keep it from unravelling.
You then wrap the remaining around it for easy unwrapping when you want to use it:
Haha!
Is this some sort of late April fools joke or something?
On a more serious note, that is quite a smart idea! (At least the stock pouch won't leave those plasticky, black, road-tar like marks on the headphone cables anymore.)

The tar-like marks are coming from the beats pocket...they're hanging on the black glue in the beats pocket

[Q] Dropped my Nexus 5

Just dropped my phone on the edge of a glass table from a height if about 1.5 ft. The backing separated a bit (2mm, I just popped it back in) and there now a wee groove right by the headphone connector. Other than cosmetic, there *seems* to be no internal damage. Everything works fine as far as I am able to tell, including using headphones and I hear nothing rattling inside when I shake it. There are these barely audible squeal/ tiny beeps in that area which I can only hear when I put my ear right up to it, but that may be normal?
My question to you good people is, should I be worried that something on the inside may have become loose and cause problems down the lane? Or all is well as long it works okay? How can I check to be sure?

You should be fine, if there doesn't seem to be any internal damage, then you probably have nothing to worry about. Water damage tends to be less predictable, not drops.
As for that dent, maybe you can get a replacement housing.

Thanks, that kinda what I figured too, but now I'm just paranoid that something broke internally or damaged just enough to work itself loose in time. But that hint you gave about drop damage predictability makes sense.
I wish I could make sure.
Any ideas about the cost for LG repair service? I called them earlier and they were super unhelpful.
I should probably just look up a youtube tutorial on how to open the phone and peek inside.
Ok, yeah I should be fine After watching a guy disassemble his phone on youtube, there is nothing in that particular area other than the headphone jack. Looks like the plastic cover and the jack itself absorbed most if not all of the shock.

If you ever experience issues with it, the headphone jack on a nexus 5 is a super easy part to replace, as it's not soldered anywhere. Just clips as I heard from iFixit.

[Q] Need Slim 3.5 mm Adapter for Spigen Neo Hybrid Case

Hey,
I bought a Spigen eo Hybrid case for my Nexus 5. I like to use Sennheiser headphones with it for music playback the 90 minute trip on the transit each way to and from work. Trouble is the headphone jack doesn't fit the recessed hole in the case.
I thought I could find a 3.5 to 3.5 slim adapter for them but the only thing after an hour of Googling is a 3.5mm to 3.5mm slim IPhone audio adapter.
Any suggestions on what I can do other then buy a headset?
Peace...
Is there any reason the iphone one won't work? It's just a 3.5mm to 3.5mm adapter isn't it? the iPhone part is probably just a name they add to it for marketing purposes.

True that!
@OP
You can even take a sharp razor and cut a small portion of the case to widen the hole. However, this may lead to some lint accumulation on that area.
I've used a razor in the past to shave the headphone plug slimmer to accommodate the smaller hole.

i bought an IPhone 3.5 to 3.5 slim headphone jack adapter, it does with with my 280 Pro headphones. Just tested it with my headset, mic works as well. So for $2 or so from Amazon and maybe a couple bucks shipping you can use any headphone with any case.

Picture of it on my Nexus 7.
