Clothespin Earbud/Cord Management - HTC Sensation

Just a little something I put together, but all my RL friends wanted one, so I'm putting this up here in case people find it useful.
What you need:
wooden clothespin (plastic will also work, but the wooden ones look nicer)
zip tie
earbuds
the clothespin must be this kind/shaped like this, the V-shaped ones will not work:

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Basically you zip tie your earbuds to one of the clotherpin's arms. Tie roughly at the middle of the earbuds, but adjust to suit your needs. Then you wrap the cord down the clothespin and have the pin grasp the end of the cord to keep it from unravelling.
You then wrap the remaining around it for easy unwrapping when you want to use it:

Haha!
Is this some sort of late April fools joke or something?
On a more serious note, that is quite a smart idea! (At least the stock pouch won't leave those plasticky, black, road-tar like marks on the headphone cables anymore.)

The tar-like marks are coming from the beats pocket...they're hanging on the black glue in the beats pocket

Thats not so good for the beats headset they could brake if you do this too roughly

has anyone tried Expansys Car Cradle?

i was wondering if anyone has used this yet. it has hands free but the website does not say how it is used. not sure if its bluetooth or what. i already ordered the htc version and the status says shipped so was too late to cancel and wait for more info on this product. i would also like to know if it is able to dock with the t-mobile body glove hard gel case.
the 2 things im looking for specifically on docks is built in speaker and dockable with case!
here is the link... http://www.expansys-usa.com/expansys-car-cradle-for-htc-sensation-with-handsfree-218918/

yea when i first posted i didnt have enough info but after an hour of googling i can see in them pictures it cant but usually some folks on here find a way to make them work with a little modding lol and also helps to get a confirmation. would be great if it worked but i do not like at all the location of the speaker being on the plug. my plug is way at the bottom about knee high or actually lower. unsure how loud it will be but when driving on the highway im sure it will be hard to hear.

Just get something like
http://cgi.ebay.com/HTC-Sensation-4...094?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2310e3f48e
It's pretty universal and just plug in your car adapter accordingly. If you are looking for a basic bluetooth speaker system, go for a parrot system or try what I have and use, the BlueAnt S4. It basically clips to the sun visor and you can answer calls hands free. A big bonus is that the BlueAnt uses the same charging port as the phone. Same charger ftw!

So I got tired of waiting for HTC to release their dock, and made my own

I got tired of waiting for HTC to release their POGO pin dock, and made my own, using the info I found in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1611116
I bought a el-cheapo dock on ebay for about $10:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110906604719#ht_500wt_1287
And asked for a couple samples of pins from Mill-Max.com:
http://www.mill-max.com/sockets/so_...ARCH_NUMBEROFPINS=&thumbnail=810_40_001tn.gif
Worked out pretty well - the only thing is, lining up the pins to the phone was a pain in the rear. I had to hot glue them in, due to the fact that I couldn't exactly align them using what I had on hand. The phone does charge, and changes to dock mode (as you can see). It only charges at USB speeds though - it seems that the folks in XDA have yet to figure out the secret (if its even possible) to charge at AC speeds using the pins.
All in all, a pretty good and cheap project - considering that the HTC dock costs $70, and this probably cost $20 at most.

DIY for the win. Too bad I am using a ballistic case that hides the pins. I'm just too afraid of dropping my phone.

Wow, very nice. Thinking about doing this myself but maybe trying to keep the dock looking nice
Thanks - obviously this is a little rough for my first attempt. Definitely a learning experience. Due to the fact that the darn pogo pins on are on the back of the phone, you need a dock that will hold the bottom of the phone in place, which limits which docks you can use. I'm not sure if the Kidigi dock will work - it may depending on how much room there is inside of it.
The pins I got from Mill Max fit a 1/16" dremel bit exactly, however since I didn't line them up exactly, I had to oversize the holes, which is why its sloppier than I'd like. Oh well!
That is true, but I guess at the end of the day, when the phone is plugged in it still looks nice. I wonder if someone could use longer pins and be able to do it with a case that has pogo exposed.

SUCCESS!!!! Modding the Seidio Active Kickstand to Opposite Direction?

Hello everyone,
I have this awesome case, however, the one issue I have with it is that the kickstand on it makes standing the phone up while charging impossible, because the charging port faces down.
Has anyone ever modded this? Or anyone know how to get the kickstand off so I can reverse it without causing too much damage?
I've looked inside and out, but there's no screws or any mounting type of hardware.... wonder if it's welded or glued?
This drives me nuts too, but I doubt you're going to be able to modify it without cutting into the rubber. A bummer for sure.
Best feeling/looking case but that does kinda suck
Sent from my HTC One X
I sent Seidio an email, let's see if they reply with any helpful info.
Well, they weren't much help, but they were very nice.
But.......... SUCCESS!!!!!!!!!!! I decided to go for it.

1. take a small screwdriver to the back and pry off the black coating, you can remove it. Yes, this breaks the seal (and voids your warranty), but now you can access the entire metal assembly of the kickstand.
2. Then you flip it.
3. Install the hardcase back onto the rubber case that's on the phone (you don't need to seal it back up, cos it fits perfectly, though, you definitely can affix something to the back if you really want), and VOILA! Kickstand phone is charging!
Awesome! Thanks for taking the risk for the rest of us Will definitely be doing this.
Nice.
Now my only complaint is that the stand makes phone sit funny.
Been living with by propping it up and can continue to do so, just a slight annoyance of a other wise good case.
WR
Rattled off a KingCobra OneX
DEFINATELY HELPFUL !!! the same reason i didn't buy this case .. now i might give it a go
This is the sweetest case around. I will be trying this mod, now......
Awesome thanks for this. Been wanting to do the same thing for a while now.

Phone Stand

I've been looking for a phone stand for quite some time now. Would really appreciate suggestions or recommendations of stands people have used.
Things I am looking for:
Can hold N4 in portrait and landscape
Minimal coverage of the entire front
Good cable management or built in microUSB charger
Sturdy construction
A lightweight designed stand is what I'm looking for. Let me know if you find anything... I'm new to Nexus and have to replace my iPhone gear.
Are you guys open to diy or strictly something professionally designed?

I was looking for the same thing for my newly bought Nexus 4.
I've searched ebay and didn't find anything that looks decent to be honest.
The most beatiful / pratical thing I've found is this LG Wireless charger: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LG-WCD-80...51188?pt=Battery_Chargers&hash=item3a7fa87b34

}
But the price is simply obnoxious.
Then there is this ones:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sync-Dock...ories_MobilePhoneChargers&hash=item3cd011bd82
Which seem very.. meh. Plastic thing.
Now that first one is sexy! I'd personally be a bit wary of the price and location of the item but if someone gets one and works legit I'd love to know.
Your 2nd link is a charger stand I used with my old LG 2x, they are very good, I had 2 of them (one for work one for home). :good:
I've got two of the second one. Bought off Amazon. Work fine but ensure that they supply the non-case insert adapter as the first one I purchased didn
't come with one. Phone still charges but is slightly loose in the cradle.

I would say pro design, I'm hoping to have something slick in appearance.
___________
The two images posted look pretty good. Too bad the top one is so expensive and out of the price range I was thinking about spending on a stand. Thanks for the suggestions though.

Question [Resolved] Looking for a Decent Tripod Adapter

I searched for a tripod adapter (P7 to standard tripod 1/4") and isolated most of them to three. Please see the image below. I'm leaning toward the Manbili due to its high ratings in the reviews and its dimensions:

Are there other adapters I should consider? All comments positive or negative are welcome, especially about the Manbily.
I bought a Magsafe case, and a Magsafe tripod mount, and never looked back. Magsafe accessories on Pixel are fantastic
Keep in mind that those clamp style holders probably won't be able to hold the phone in the middle. I have one from a previous phone and with the P7P it is kind of off balance since it needs to hold it from one side. The power and volume buttons are in the middle of the phone and the camera bump in on the side. So if you go with one like this make sure that the stand is strong enough to hold it like that.
I have 3 clamp style ones, a relatively expensive Manfrotto one, a good solid machined aluminium one and a cheap 8 quid Amazon thing and i use the amazon one more than anything which is a bit bonkers putting an expensive device in a £8 plastic clamp.
I don't have problems with stability but i use a low Manfotto tripod where the legs open very wide and very low https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0152WXZX4/
What is the maker & model of your "cheap 8 quid Amazon thing" (curious minds want to know...)

Do any of you have problems with the clamp pressing the buttons on the side of the P7P?
My thanks to all who replied! I popped for Ulanzi's top model.
