I'm on the latest stable CM7 with Trinity's kernel. I decided I'd see if a Virgin Mobile Sim would work so I put it in and, it didn't. No biggie. I put my old (Wind) Sim card back in and it now can't find any networks.
It says, "Error while searching for networks." When I take the sim out and turn the phone back on, it doesn't recognize that there is no sim and the same error message pops up. The Baseband version is now, Unknown Anyone know what's wrong and any solutions?
Thanks in advance,
Juf

Turn off phone. Remove the battery. Press the power key to make sure the phone is drained completely. Replace battery with correct sim. Turn back on and hope for the best. Once in a while this phone gets confused and this happens. It should be okay though.

No luck, I'm going to try draining the battery and see if that helps.
I guess them version mobile sims are dangerous. This is a very strange issue.
Quick update to anyone who finds this thread through search and wants to know what happened. I ended up flashing the newest nightly which fixed the baseband issue, then I flashed the old stable release back on and that's where I am now
PS I switched back to the stable release because of that pesky low mic issue everyone is having.

When my Verizon TP rings, the volume on the playing ringtones is loud for a second, and then quiet for a second, and then loud, then quiet.....*repeat.....
This is ontop of the already know ringtone delay issue. The delay issue is annoying, but not as annoying and the volume dropping and then coming back over and over while its ringing.
Anyone else dealing with this? Fix? please...

goto settings/phone/voicecommand & check the phone settings and see if you have announce incoming calls checked....if you do, turn it off. If that doesn't work, I don't know....
Well, thanks Chris. That sure did it. I love it when I can get a quick fix in one short blurb..
Although, i have another related Issue. I have voice command v1.6.19972 and it doesn't work for announcing calls. So, disabling it fixed the issue and i haven't lost anything because it never worked anyway. But how do i get it to work? do i need another version of voice command? and if i do get it working and turn on announcing, will the original issue come back?
Cheers

I think NATF's Latest rom and the one he is supposed to release this weekend (3.0)? fixes the VC issue. The fixed version has to be cooked into the rom I believe. I'm using an older NATF rom and mine doesn't work either. I'm probably gonna upgrade this week to his 3.0 version.. Good luck in the mean time....
Hi,
My phone just froze today during making a call.
After taking the batery off and turning phone on screen look like on the photo.
Phone works (I can hear for example volume change), but screen doesn't change.
Any ideas? Phone didn't fall or didn't have any contact with water - I was just trying to make a call.
Is it a hardware issue? Does anyone know the cause?

Hey.
It seems like a hardware problem.
Anyway, get it to bootloader & connect it to the PC, try to confirm fastboot access & flash the RUU using this guide http://tinyurl.com/RUUGuide
If it is software related, that should solve it.

It is hardware-related. Problably LCD issue.
Anyway - I flashed the oryginal rom and everything is the same, so now I restored CID and locked bootloader and I will try to send it for warranty repair.
Thanks.
Side note - I have a really bad luck. I am the same guy who you helped yesterday with S-OFF and currupted system partition
how did you solved the problem , because i have the same issu and my screen look like your's ?
thanks
Please any answer ?

Okay, so a few months ago, I rooted my Honeycomb 3.2.1 tablet and installed the kernel from joe.stone.
I'm pretty sure they're compatible and all. The tablet model is myPadP4 (Which is only available in Taiwan I believe).
And later on, the tablet is acting weird.
Sometimes it freezes, randomly reboot/shutdown, and recently, I can't even turn the tablet off, it just shuts down, and reboot. (Note that the battery is irremovable.)
I tried the "Quick Boot" app to shutdown, doesn't work.
I tried shutting down via "reboot -p", doesn't work.
Not sure if it's caused by the kernel OR some app that I installed (That's the most unlikely case I think.)
And yes, I did try to do a factory reset, doesn't help.
Any idea? Or I simply have to send it back to the manufacturer?

I dunno if this is needed but just in case.
I'm pretty sure its the custom kernel that's causing you grief, try going back to the stock kernel
remember custom kernels are not always perfect, they may have bugs.

well if the dev is still supporting the kernel, you can wait for the dev to fix all the bugs.
if not, there not much anyone can do.
guess that is what you get for buying a cheap unknown tablet
click thanks if helped

You can find this info under about phone under settings (see below).
Try holding power button and vol+ simultaneously. That should reboot the phone. Post if that fixed the issue.

If you haven't done anything to modify your phone you should take it to T-Mobile or whatever carrier and have them fix it or get you one that works. This phone does dumb crap like this all the time.

Regular reboot and vol+ and power method are different IMHO.

What is the lock button? Vol+ and power.

I would think it might stop when it gets to the part about needing to configure for a carrier. Are you downloading a carrier (ATT, etc) based update?

I download the automaticly update i dont know what is it exactly.
I bought it from china and i live in Greece. Maybe this is the problem
Tomorrow i will put a sim and i will update the thread.
Thanks for the fast reply
It's most likely a Hong Kong model if you bought it from China, but you might still need to have a SIM inserted for it to carry through with the update.

Not Working with SIM inside
I just tried the update with SIM on but the same....
Any solution?
Same issue!
I have the same phone and when updating the software 10 days ago had the same issue. I have tried everything - including the factory reset suggested by HTC - and the phone will now only go as far as the beats audio splash screen. It hangs there forever, generating vast amounts of heat and nothing else!
After a very snotty email to customer services, I have been offered a free check - even though the phone's just out of warranty - if I spend 80RM to send it to Kuala Lumpur?!
If it gets resolved, I'll let you know...but I'm not holding my breath... I seem to have a ery expensive light-up paper weight now...
