Maybe someone don't know that with the new GB Roms you can use the 3D botton to shoot with camera and to record/stop your videos.
Nice!
Yeah I noticed this earlier... a nice bit of work that keeps my hand steadier when taking the pic. Having the thump taking the pic feels much more natural IMO.

Now I use much more the camera. I hate the digital command on the screen. Now you can ask some shoots with the camera to anyone without explain so much : P
I don't know if LG listened to the community or that this was already planned but yeah, I think it's a great feature as well. Those first few seconds of a movie were always off target and wobbly because of the awkward press on the screen. Now it's just point and shoot like it should be.
Could someone look in /system/usr/keylayout and open omap-keypad.kl and scroll to the bottom and tell me what key 249 says?

Bah thanks adixtra, I was hoping there was a command we didn't know about. Looks like the ability to shoot with 3d button is in camera app itself.

I really want to see the quality of picture this phone can take. I'm not very happy with the one on my tilt. I hope Raphael will have better camera picture quality.
Thanks in advance
picture quality is good only in extremely good light conditions

Haha, you can at least take a picture of your monitor or something... why a fish, man? an ugly one too.
Ugly? It looks like a monster, I nearly puked...
Is that the original size of the picture? Holy s*it its huge for a phone pic if it is.
more pics more pics more pics!!!!
I made a thread posting panoramic pictures in particular, but I'm not gonna go dig it up. The camera quality, like someone else stated, is great with good lighting... Once lighting isn't perfect, you can see the quality decline.
can you tell what it took?
i would have to say LIGHTING is key or turn on the flashlight and take closer pictures
Is there any way to mod the camera app to use the volume keys to take a picture instead of/in addition to pressing the trackball?
+1 this would be GREAT! Was thinking this the other day when trying to hold camera away with one hand and take a picture of me and my girlfriend by pressing the trackball... haha very difficult!

+1 this, i dropped mine, due to akward picture taking... "good" thing i have mad hacky sack skillz...
Is it just me? Each time I use the hardware button to take a picture it is slightly blurry, I have the feeling that when I release the button that I shake the camera slightly. If I use the soft button on the phone I don't have these problems.
Same here. Ultimately, I think the reason is that the camera just kinda sucks. You have to be pretty much PERFECTLY still for the picture to not come out blurry. It was the same thing on my samsung behold I had before getting the mt4g. Also, for some reason pictures seem to come out less blurry when taken outdoors but that may just be me.
Same problem here... solution is simple... use the on-screen button...like seriously..waste of a thread, go blog about this somewhere.

This is why I only use the on screen button. The Verizon Droid Incredible button is harder to press and has no on screen button. Horrible

...and maybe that it doesn't have focus assist light for the dark. So the stupid camera tries to focus on a dark area and can't achieve focus...but then it uses the flash once you take the picture to light up the unfocused picture...brilliant.
The camera appears to be OK when shooting objects over 3 feet away. However, it has problems when object is close. See attached picture. The edge of the object shows waves. IPhone 4 doesn't have this issue. Any recommendations? Thanks.
Looks like you have a special effect turned on.
i couldn't find any macro mode
maybe this feature is not offered ?

There is no macro mode, except just tap to focus on the object that you want to photograph.
I don't have that problem. Not sure why the picture is rotated to the left, though.

Pretty sure there was something wrong with his phone. Either that or he added a wave effect in a photo editor so he could troll.
I'm not too sure how this is supposed to work. I can get my camera to take some really sharp shots IF I hold my hands extremely steady - usually resting on something. Otherwise, the pictures are simply not as crisp. Isn't OIS supposed to help with this?... is it possible my OIS isn't working properly, or is it just a fact of having to be perfectly still for a perfect shot regardless? And my hands aren't "shaky" by any means.
I have shaky hands and am yet to take a crap photo with my N5, so I assume the OIS is working as intended.
Either that or knowing that the phone has OIS is a placebo cure for my unsteadiness
My pictures come out great!

You're not alone. The vast majority of N5 owners have noticed the ridiculously long shutter speeds. Action shots are almost impossible with this phone, but it will take excellent photos with lots of background light.
Maybe I'm spoiled coming from a Galaxy device but Samsung's shutter speeds are instantaneous.
