Previously, the HTC.ime keyboard could fit the galaxy S II perfectly but with the Note, it fills half the width of the screen. Can someone suggest to me how to fix this wonderful keyboard?? thank you very much!
I also miss the HTC keyboard very much... Much more convinient than Samsung one. But Sammy implemented S-Pen support both in Swype and regular keyboard, that's a plus.
is there a way to combine wonderful HTC keyboard and S-Pen support?
+1 HTC keyboard is still the best thing I've seen. If someone works it out it would be great.
smartkeyboard pro is the closest that another keyboard has gotten to. i miss the on screen 'add word' function of the HTC though.

So this is pretty old and im sure posted many times, and i see tons of people asking for customized keyboards and its so easy a caveman can do it. All you have to do is register really quick on this site and you can color your own low-res IME KEYBOARD it takes less than 5 mins to make your own keyboard any color you want. Just go to this site and make sure you do the low res version cause the hi res version will NOT work. I made about 20 keyboards myself at this site. Im sure you know how to install it by now if you dont shame on you. Choose froyo if you are on froyo if not it has a drop down box for you to select which os you are running. Register and enjoy making your own keyboards. If you are confused let me know.
DISCLAIMER: I didnt make this site but the guys who did are bad ass, I just wanted to share some knowledge and dont worry I wont ask for donations *yelling* NOW ALL OF YOU GIVE ME 5 BUCKS RIGHT NOW LOL JKJK

Here is the clicker so you can calibrate the keyboard, just install it with the HTC_IME.apk once you finish making your own, and grey keyboard is included for you lazy fools.

A lot of the skins are free...actually most of them are free.
Someone has to know how to make a skin for this thing.

Don't like swype and the xda keyboard lags my phone.
How do you modify your keyboard files? Just change the pngs or you also gotta mess with the xml files?
Started from htc touch, htc diamond, diamond two, touch hd, hd 2, magic, desire, than, glacier.
Never thought I would change the brand, lets see how it goes....
Got myself a good deal on galaxy s ll.

The sense 3.0 keyboard is a lot better than the sense 4.0 one. It felt like a downgrade. In sense 3.0 the keys were spaced nicely and it was actually quite hard to make mistakes.
I would rate sense 3.0 to have the 2nd best keyboard, right behind the iPhone.
You may hate me for saying it but the iPhone keyboard is the best.

Have been using AI Type which has several themes including an iphone keyboard which I use as default, it serves my needs and looks and feels a little like the iphone keyboard.

U could try extracting HTC_IME.apk out of a sense rom.
Step 1- MAKE A BACKUP, and extract the HTC_IME.apk from any sense rom.
Step 2- dl any keyboard from the market, "temporarily", and switch to it, so that your not running the system keyboard.
Step 3- place the HTC_IME.apk into system/app using root explorer.
Step 4- in a text field long press, untill a message pops up that will give the option for input method. Pick the htc keyboard.
Step 5- if that doesnt work, try deleting the system keyboard in system/app.
Ive never tried this, so dont know if it will work. But its a good start. Good luck.

Yeah that Sense framework is quite the bugger. I'd like to see the Sense camera make its way over to AOSP, but I think thats something everyone wishes for and something I don't see happening anytime soon

Agree 100%!
Just switched from ViperXL to CM10 and as much as I love CM, I'm not sure I can stick it out without the Sense Keyboard... it was just so good. I've been running CM on at least 2 devices for the past 18 months or so, but that Sense keyboard is just the best keyboard I've ever used.

Just saw the official Nexus 4/7/10 announcement and saw this little feature...
Android 4.2 brings other great goodies like Gesture Typing, which lets you glide your finger over the letters you want to type on the keyboard—it makes typing fast, fun and a whole lot simpler.

So how long until someone either a) gets their hands on this keyboard APK; or b) comes out with a 4.2 ROM?
