NVIDIA TEGRA UI
From one of our many resources hidden deep within the “bush” we bring to you a spreadsheet with some handy info on it… All the specs, names and chipsets of the upcoming HTC releases.
WMPoweruser.com reported earlier on the leaked releases of these, but now we get to see some more names and specs. Its good to see the Thoth and Whitestone… And Seeing all the Windows Mobile 6.1 out there makes me think that they are coming out soon. I am very curious about the Star and SuperStar… And I am VERY intrigued by the NVIDIA AP16 chipset. It is also good to see all the WVGA screens coming out, but I’d like to see more storage/RAM and more speed out there like the Thoth! Stay tuned for some more great phones coming out!

The THOTH does look appealing, but HTC + Qualcomm is not a good combination. It's coming out with WM 6.5, with WM 7 coming soon, I wonder if they will provide an OS upgrade.

What To Know Before Purchasing An Android Tablet PC

Android tablet pc is popular not only for cheap price but also a variety of choices. When you walk into a store or browse an electronic online store to buy a tablet, your thoughts may be in a mess facing so many models. In this post, I’d like to introduce the basic but significant elements of Android tablet pc to help you out.
SOC (System on a Chip)
Nowadays most of the Android tablet pc manufacturers are from small factories, Shenzhen, China. Before a tablet comes out, several steps need to be processed, during which the design of SOC is the key to decide the quality of a tablet. Here are some common SOC in the market.
1. VIA8650 is designed by VIA Technologies, Inc, who provides a stable and mature turekey solution. It has the hardware and software both debugged. Manufacturers can directly produce tablets based on the design without any change. Its highlight is its super cheap price, and so is the tablet produced.
EKEN M009S and Gpad M009B both VIA8650.
2. AML8726 (Amlogic 8726) is one of the quite mature SOCs that can support Android 2.3 in China. It has Cortex A9, 65nm LP and 800MHz CPU Clock Speed. Mali400 GPU (Graphic Process Unit) is applied on it so large 3D games can run on it smoothly. Another advantage is that it supports HTML5, which can play online videos. Apple products only support HTML5 instead of FLASH, so AML8726 gives you iPad experience.
Z280-R10 and Q7 both AML8726
3. RK2918 (RockChip 2918)
RK2918 has updated to SDK 2.0 (Software Development Kit), which can copy the interface of Android 3.0. Cortex A8, 1GHz CPU contributes to better and stable performance on graphic processing than A9. There is no problem to play 1080P videos on it.
Wopad i7
Below are the results of RK2918′s performance in two tests: Neocore test and Nbench, higher is better.
Other good SOCs: Samsung PV210 that has good performance and support many games but TF card ROM decreases its life and stability; Renesas EV2 uses Dual-core A9 which consumes less power but large games don’t run well on it.
RAM (Random Access Memory) and ROM (Read-Only Memory)
RAM is a form of computer data storage, which can be both read and written, the larger the faster. The smallest one is only 256MB, like VIA8650. Common Android tablet pcs have 512MB RAM, and at least DDR (Double Data Rate), usually DDR2 and DDR3.
ROM usually reaches 2GB, 4GB, 8GB or higher. Another element is the Extend Card. Maybe the ROM of a tablet is only 2GB, but it supports TF card that can extend to 32GB. It’s also great, is it?
Touch Screen
Next comes to the touch screens. Normally VIA8650 uses the resistive screen. But the resistive screen gives uncomfortable touch feelings. As a result, more and more tablets now use the capacitive screen instead of resistive screen, although the former is much more expensive than the latter. Besides, it comes to TFT screen. There are diverse sizes, 7 inch, 8 inch, 9.7 inch and 10.1 inch. You can choose the corresponding according to your purpose. More advanced screen is IPS screen which can give better experiences.
All the basic elements above can be read on the package of an Android tablet pc or in the description page of an online product. Keep all of them in mind when you choose your android tablet pc. It’s our pleasure to give you detailed guidance to wise shopping, especially electronic gadgets, like tablets and android cell phones. To be continued.
You can find the above-mentioned tablets from the following site. You can refer to it.

Frankly speaking, compared with the former tablet, the latter is better equipped, possessed with stronger functionalities. By practical operation, we can install and play 3D games on Zenithink C71. Besides, not only can you process multi-tasks with your control panel, but high-definition videos are completely supported for broadcasting. All in all, the most value stuff relies on its interactive design of video communication.
To evaluate the two, the later one counts better performance, better reaction speed, better touch-sensitive, better software compatibility and smoother apps processing.
It's no doubt the user experience counts the most important point among all other specialties.
Shortly, the portable panel tablet has now developing from ARM11 to Cortex A8/A9; customers are more emphasized on the functionalities and user experience.

[NEWS]Attention Gamers!! Android Gaming System Soon. :D

Hello Everyone... I just read some news on my local news source and felt like sharing this. If I did something wrong please be kind with me and let me know i'll delete it :fingers-crossed:
I'll post the whole news here...
"What do you get when you cross an Xbox controller with a five-inch android tablet with beefy stereo speakers? Nvidia's new touch-screen portable gaming system, code-named Project Shield. The hand-held gaming system was unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, and it could spell more bad news for the Sony Vita, Nintendo 3DS or any other entry in the mobile gaming market. Why? Because it further stretches how consumers can buy and experience video games.
Besides being a complete stand-alone Android gaming system, the chunky controller can also stream games that have been already loaded on a windows PC, providing users are sharing some WiFi router and computer is equipped with a recent Nvidia graphics processor(specifically a Kepler-based GeForce GTX 650 or better). Even hard-core gamers take breaks, right? So now you can carry your games of Assassins Creed around the house with you. Other features include a set of standard game controls and 5-10 hour rechargeable batteries.
The stand-alone mode is based on the JellyBean version of Android OS. An Nvidia representative promised that it was 'pure, unfiltered android that can run anything you can download from the Google Play app store.' Games that have been modified for gamepads and five-inch displays will work better.
One cannot help but notice the potential of this device for playing videos or music, thanks to the clear screen and speakers that are much better than average. Nvidia promises an SD card slot, but will not say how much internel storage the device has. Also up in the air are the final name and the price. All of that will be determined by late spring, which is the earliest consumers will be able to buy one."
Thanks for reading.....gamers get ready for the new level of gaming...

See this awesome video of it's preview....
The video is the first in a series of videos called PC Mondays that showcase the PC-streaming capabilities of Project SHIELD. Steam seems to run Big Picture Mode when connected with Project SHIELD. Borderlands 2 was picked for the demonstration as it is one of the best PhysX games available.

AJ

Anyway, it looks good enough and affordable but I have some questions on choosing a possible gaming phone:
* Would this work with most games?
* Is it better to have this, or would it be better to buy something like a gamepad controller/add-on to Android phones, like this one which I saw from the Accessories thread here: http://dx.com/p/wamo-wireless-bluetooth-gamepad-for-android-ios-cell-phone-pc-black-222605.
* Do you have any other suggestions on anything that would involve being able to use dpads and buttons for gaming?
Anyone?
