Anyone knows the link to dissambling og Milestone XT720???
And also where can I buy LCD.. I am in India.
New from authorized service center will cost u 3,500rs. U may try @ Manish market in Mumbai. U will surely get the LCD. But not sure if it will be original. Motorola service center gives u one month warranty for it.

I bought the LCD from ebay today morning for Rs. 1300..
[link] http://www.ebay.com/itm/LCD-Screen-...749632?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item4ab0521680 [/link]
but i cant find any tutorial how to replace it
Its a link for US ebay so did u got it imported??
i just bought it from there.. some of sellers ship product overseas..
It's pretty easy to disassemble, if you've repaired other phones.
From the back, holding it with the speaker grille down you have:
Top left rubber cap hiding one screw.
Top right under 8.0 xenon sticker one screw.
Middle over battery two screws, not hidden.
Bottom left and right, under speaker grille another two.
Now simply spread the blue from the chrome with a PLASTIC breaker.
You often get them free with new screens.
After that, there's ribbon cables and some sticky tape that need to be extremely carefully removed, especially the micro antennas.
A new touch/digitizer from ebay should include the chrome frame!
Very important, as they're glued and not double sided taped like other phones.
LCD is separate from the digitizer, and if that's broken you need to buy two parts obviosly.
My phone recently received a direct impact on the screen.. I tink the lcd screen got destroyed!
The gorilla glass stood up to the impact. But the display beneath the glass turned black and only showed streaks of white light when turned on.. everything else's still working find though! e.g. multitouch, launching apps, etc.. can even answer phone call cause it's just a swipe..
is this a spoiled LCD screen of my phone as OP mentioned?

I have replaced several screens on Touch Diamonds, however the LCD matrix appears to actually be stuck onto the digitiser and the LCD itself is very very fragile. I usually replace the whole unit (LCD screen and digitiser) because it is much easier. You can purchase these from various sellers in Hong Kong on Ebay.
I have allready bought a touch screen but not the lcd screen!!! Do u have a guide or something that shows how to change it???

My recommendation would be to re-sell the touch screen and buy yourself a complete LCD & digitiser module. It is much much easier to do. In terms of taking the phone apart, it is fairly straight forward. Be careful with the small co-axial cables inside though, because they are easily damaged and difficult to obtain without replacing the antenna board. Re-connecting the ribbon cables can also be a bit fiddly.
The LCD and digitiser are glued into the front of the phone. You will need to disassemble the phone and then very carefully using a plastic flat blade, ease the LCD out of the front of the phone housing. It will come out with a little bit of care. There should be enough glue remaining in the housing to re-seat the replacement unit and hold it in place.
If you google you should be able to find the HTC Diamond service manual which tells you how to take the phone apart and re-assemble it. I have a copy, so if you can't track it down, PM and I will e-mail it to you.

Hi,
To barncourt, how is the build quality of those honk kong made screens?
also a lot of the screen+digitizer that i have seen on ebay all have the front facing camera. would it be possible to use that screen even though my diamond is the one that has no front facing camera?
Of course, it is just a hole

Hi I wanna know can you share your supplier adress with us ?
I'm looking for a LCD+digitizer and what I see is not something giving confidence...
So if you can give us some real-tested place to start...
Also I've dismantle the phone but it's quite hard to take the screen+digitizer away...
it's seems completely fixed with the housing does some one got s pics or guide on how to dismantle and replace the screen
(The HTC service guide you can see here and there just don't deal with the screen.)
and when I started just broke my screen (which was already broken anyway so...)
http://www.fuelip.com/howto/diamondlcd/diamondlcd.htm
I followed that guide and replaced my screen. I have one last problem though - I can't fit back my power button. It's made of two parts the black plastic cover and the transparent rubber. How do you stick them together? I'ts funny that I took my whole diamond apart with all the cables and boards and now I can not figure out how to fix a silly button
i recently dropped the phone and am thinking whether it is worth it or not to buy new housing. i have a touch diamond nam 3g with rubber back and no front facing camera. can anyone give me links to where i can find housing for my model. i saw a lot on ebay but those look like housings for the euro and asian model with glossy back and front facing camera. also if i want to switch off the front screen because of scratches, should i buy a whole new lcd or should i just buy a digitizer cuz i heard that it is hard to change just the digitizer.
anybody know anything about this?
If you need original housing it will cost you.
I bought from this company recently (EU)
http://www.mytrendyphone.com/shop/htc-touch-pro-13838p.html - £15.75
http://www.mytrendyphone.com/shop/htc-touch-diamond-11870p.html - £35.29
http://www.mytrendyphone.com/shop/htc-touch-diamond-13679p.html - £19.41
Total £70.45 + shipping
Note: The shipping is low from this company.
But your Diamond will be like brand new.
do they ship to the US though? also i don't see the actual front housing in there. i see that you bought a digitizer too. how hard is it to replace the digitizer?
From what I have seen, the phone has to be completely disassembled to change the digitizer, doesn't look like an easy task.
yeah but what i mean is, is it easy to detach the digitizer from the lcd screen?

i have asian non 3g htc touch diamond white without front facing camera. i just bought it two days back and from what i have seen nd heard, it's very difficult to replace digitizer or screen alone, if u cud get 'em get a screen wid a digitizer nd if u wanna save some money purrchase the housing with digitizer alone. but be very careful while removing the digitizr from lcd. they are sort of glued together but when u remove it, u shud have enough gule left to paste it into new digitizer.
nd sellers from hong kong are quite friendly. just ask a question to them on ebay about ur requirement and m quite sure they can make available to you whateva u want.
PS: i got it about two weeks back nd not two days.
where did you find a digitizer that doesn't have the front camera hole though
I dropped my nexus 5 getting out if the car and now the glass screen is shattered at a corner. The digitizer seems fin and every where on the screen is responsive.
So I was wondering if there were a place i can order just the LCD screen and without the digitizer/housing.

The digitizer and LCD are fused together.. You need to replace them both!
If I were you, I would send it to a LG Service outlet and let them replace it. The ones you order online may or may not work + you need to do everything yourself. However, if you're good at it, then ordering online will certainly save you few bucks!
As the phone is only $350. Spending anything more then $150 won't do it for me as I'd rather buy a new or used phone. I was hoping there was a place to get just the glass part.

The only way that makes sense is if you can get a phone that is as good or better than the n5 for $150 or less.
I dropped mine, three days after it was delivered, no case as it had not yet arrived
The corner of the case was dented and the screen shattered but still fully useabIe.
I was wary about knock off spare parts and my skill with glue and tape if I went DIY so I sent mine in to LG service centre. The cost was £114.67 including Special delivery both ways ( Insured, tracked, next day delivery).
The worst part was the waiting, it took them 10 days to give me an estimate of he cost and three more days to get it back to me. It is good as new now and still has warranty.
I've just checked, thats about $190! So I uderstand your dilemma.

This is Elena from parts4repair.com,we can offer only oem glass for you,(the original one is out of stock now),and I am a new user,so i can't offer the link for you, maybe you will be interested to visit our website,or contact with us by [email protected].
Please notice that:the outer glass lens is without any function of digitizer or display. and only glass replacement is a professional job, and special tools are required, too. By the way, glass and the screen are bonded together, so both separating them and gluing them together are difficult job. Please sure you can do it before order.
Hope can help you,Thanks.
Never try to replace just the glass. You'd need loca glue & a uv light to cure it. The glue could get into other components and totally ruin your phone. And even if by a small chance you can pull it off, it will never be 100 percent. Always replace the whole assembly. - coming from somebody who has tried to replace just the glass.

you are right,it is very hard to get it done right by people who mostly have no experience,so please think twice before do it if it is first time for you to change it.And we also can offer LG N5 D820 a full screen assembly(front housing cover + digitizer + lcd screen+glass).
I used my old front housing and removed the old LCD and Glass. It was very difficult but it came out working 100%. This has been the 3rd display I have fixed and so far the most difficult. The rest of the parts were really easy though. Just separating the LCD and housing was painstakingly time consuming and dangerous.

Hello everyone,
I sat my phone on my bed and it slid off and landed on a plate. The back glass panel is cracked all over and has two spots of likely impact.
Luckily the camera, flash and front screen is perfectly fine so I'm hoping the cost to replace the single sheet of glass is low.
I know this is a recently released device but I was wondering if anyone has had this issue before and how much Sony charged to repair it out of warranty either on this model or a previous Z.

You are probably better off doing it yourself or give it to a local shop as manufacturers generally have a higher turn around time. I believe I saw a back glass for $30-40, though not sure if it was of same standards.
You can buy the back glass from places like aliexpress (china) from £10-20 and I think they are on ebay too.
There are videos explaining how to replace them (for z2, but should be same for z3)
Waterproofing is probably not gauranteed.

Really sorry to hear/see that, mate. From what I know - replacing it would be ridiculously simple - IF you can get a replacement. Might be worth to look in popular webstores selling parts. Also, try ifixit.com.
Sorry to be of little help but that's all I have right now.

You're right, it does look very simple to fix. The only issue I'd have with doing it myself would be are the parts they (witrigs.com) supply any good/official and would it not be water-resistant anymore.
I believe you need to use heat (for glue) to seperate the back glass. If you are worried just go to a local repair store. If you give it to Sony then you have time wasted in back and forth shipping and then processing. If you can live without your phone for a few weeks ship it to Sony. If you are lucky and have a Sony repair center nearby that would be better.
good to know I can do this myself

As @abhinav.tella suggested - heat does the trick.
I replaced battery in my Xperia Z with a hair dryer, a small suction pad I normally use to hang my towel and some glue that double acts as a sealant.
You simply heat the device up, and then use the suction pad to lift the glass - the glue should have melted by now - just be extra careful not to apply pressure on the cracked parts. Then scrape off the leftover glue from corners, when it cools down apply new one and put the glass panel inside - heat again, push it firmly and wait until it cools down again. ( some kits include glue that doesn't need to be heated up )
You can get all those for literally 20-30$. I'm sure you realize that, but it might be worth to mention that this will probably void your warranty.
Hey bro, I feel your pain it happen to me too.. I just updated my post.. There might be some information, that might help you.. You might want to check it out..

Anyone found a display replacement that includes the front cover? Without it, it should be nearly impossible, am I right?
Gesendet von meinem XT1562 mit Tapatalk
I haven't seen any.
I tried combining the components and failed. Broke the circuitry in the LCD when trying to mount the frame...
I asked Motorola what i should do when i dropped my phone and the glas got broken. They told i should send it to their repair service, it was datrepair in Germany maybe its another in other countries. They Arranged everything for me and i paid 120€ for the replacement, just the glass maybe touch but idk, screen was ok when i was sending it in. They even took care of shipping without any cost for me.
Normaly i repair devices by myselfe but in fact the phone was only 1 Month old i refused to it.
If you have a heat gun (or hair dryer) and a set of torx screwdrivers, you should be able to fix it at home. If something is tight, never force it. Use plastic tools to pry open the case, usually comes together with the screwdriver set if you buy them online

For that, you would need the lcd including the frame which is nicht available yet...
So atm nearly impossible.
I managed to get some tiny cracks on the edge near the front camera (it fell onto metal from my jacket, i was bending over). Thankfully it's not the touch area, but i now somehow understand why so many people have cracked phones. It happens so quickly. And i was treating it like a raw eggshell, too.
I dropped mine as I was getting out of the car.It cost me R1500 (R is for South African Rand) to replace the screen. The guys who repaired it had to crack the plastic frame to get the screen out .They used glue to keep the new screen in place.I dont think they knew what they were doing, but it was the only repair center that was in the same province as me.

I should have checked ebay prior as that one ships from the states and would have got here way quicker.

Yeah, please make a video it'll help many.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5_yzMPWCQOM This video shows the whole process with a complete display assembly. Its incredibly more difficult if you get the screen without the frame as the screen is affixed to the frame with some sort of adhesive foam.
I also broke my screen and ordered a replacement. Unfortunately I broke the frame in the process of removing the old screen.
Luckily I got my hands on a replacement frame and some 3M 2 milimeters adhesive strips. Praying for everything to work out put together..

Best of luck, if you can document the process as there isn't much info out on screen replacements where you affix a new frame to a screen. My frame broke when I dropped my phone which is why I just got the whole unit. Cost me about $62 CAD shipped for the whole unit.
Has anyone here tried a replacement? Any tips?
So is it possible to change just the glass without the whole display unit?

So, I tried for myself with my old display after I got a replacement new display including a new frame.
It is absolutely impossible to separate the front glass from the digitizer and display without destroying all three.
I think even a professional wouldn't be able to do it. Display and digitizer are very flexible while the screen is glued really really good to them
I heated it up to no avail. Maybe some glue remover would have helped, but I don't think it would get between the glass and the digitizer.
These phones are just not build to be repared, they are build to be thrown away.
Exchanging the new frame including display was no easy job too, but it can be done.
Be sure to have a high quality Torx T3 screwdriver or bit, the cheap china ones will do nothing but destroy the tiny screws.
