Melvin's Notice to all - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

Hello XDA world.
First of all I would like to apologize to anyone that was offended by me or anything like that. I’ve been getting a lot of hate from idiots that come to XDA to troll and they never do anything for the community. I was banned for 2 years from the site because MY PERSONAL TESTER HOMAIS wanted to remember his 10 years old age and decided to **** me over. I had weeks without talking to him since he was my HTC Sensation ROM tester and I moved to the beloved TMO Samsung Galaxy S II and no longer needed him. My friendship with him started when I released Senseless ROM which was a BOMB and got over 110,000 downloads. He started talking on my thread and was a user, who seemed to be a good person, and he joined my FACEBOOK group and all and it continued like that as he asked me if he could test my early builds. I said yes as I was looking for tester to make a testers squad and I got him in. **** was going well and we formed a friendship and laughed and talked daily. I used to tell users to thank me if they liked my work. Homais started spending his 5 thanks on me and telling me about it. I wanted to beat a couple of people that used to flame me on my first days as a developer so I didn’t say no to homais which I had to do so IMO now that I think about it. Homais kept thanking me daily (5 thanks daily) and one day he made 2 accounts to thank me. I did not ask him to do so, he did it by himself and started giving me 15 thanks daily. I wasn’t liking the idea as it was just wrong but he kept thanking me. Well to make it short I moved to the TMO SGSII and homais and me didn’t talk so much. He gave me all his passwords for his accounts, Homais, homiethedev, dr.devman (password=yourmom). I did not thank myself with his accounts as I just didn’t feel like doing so. The HTC Sensation forums made me very big and I wanted to be clear of trouble and stuff like that. More in the present, few weeks ago I told Homais to open a bounty thread for me on the Skyrocket as I was told by a mod that I could not make myself a bounty thread. Homais agreed. He posted the thread for me. But still we didn’t talk much as before. Coming to today, he emails me saying a bunch of crap and I’m like what the f is going on. He started telling me a bunch of crap and that he was going to close the thread for the bounty and more ****. I was like grow up kid.
Homais told mods that I hacked his account, that I thanked myself on threads, and who the hell knows what else. Clearly it was all lies. On the email he sent me, he was saying that the reason for doing this to me was because he helped me a lot and every time he asked me for help, I did not help him. I’m a very busy developer short on time and almost don’t even sleep. He thinks a dev has all the free time as him or what ever. Well yea guys the idiot is so child that got me banned for 2 years because I couldn’t help him when he needed me. GOD dam what kind of balls. Keyboard hood to the attack. That’s what homais is. But well this is not the subject.
To XDA now! You made a big mistake. You DID NOT ASK ME anything. YOU MAKE THE DUMBEST DESITION EVER. You banned someone that has been supporting the community for almost a year for the simple reason that MY DAMM TESTER DECIDED TO RUIN MY LIFE. XDA was all I cared about. Where I felt I was at home, where I shared my work all the time. I was loyal to the site, always helping everyone, listening to users and the last thing I had in my mind was money when I went to the site. I spent LOTS of my free time making my ROMs, ported apps, mods and all I shared on the site. You all are making it wrong guys. But keep it like that and your big site will keep going down and down as it’s been for the year. Rootzwiki is gaining them all. If you don’t unban me I’ll be working on my new home droid-tech.net as the owner really appreciates what I do and as an action of grateful he’s even sending me a free phone and will send me the devices I want to dev on. That’s what I worth. I don’t care about the phones but rather the help he’s giving me. I would like XDA to ban Homais and his accounts homiethedev and dr.devman as he caused this mess and got me into this big issue. I would like XDA to unban me or at least Let me start fresh and all. I have thousands of followers and thousands of followers would be mad at XDA for this.
If you are one of my followers, I will be at droid-tech.net, also you can follow me on twitter and Facebook as those places is where I’ll be posting my work and maybe I’ll have sammydr10 to post my ROMs at XDA. My apologies to my dear users which I love. I WONT stop development as this is just what I love. Too bad that XDA made this injustice with me.
Skyrocket users, I did not still your money for the device. I will buy the device as soon as I can complete the money missing or if someone want to help still then it would be good. I’m really sorry for all this guys.
@TMO SGSII users, ill be posting all my work at droid-tech.net again as the company wiped the data of the site and all the work was lost. Please follow me @bosina_dev (twitter) , Melvin peralta (G+) And on my FB group.
I will post here some proof and pics of what I was talking and some others so you all get the mind clear about me!

^^Right there is the prove that I did NOT stole homais passwords. AND he SAYS THAT HE ****ED ME OVER. NOT THAT I DID WRONG!
Take NOTES!
Again ^^ More proof that the idiot lied.
All seems as a troller.. What an asshole without **** to do!
Again, im sorry to XDA and my users. Maybe I get a chance in live. Thanks guys. Love you all. Apreciate all those who have taken money from their bills to give me some love.

I've referred the thread to the senior moderation team for their attention. As far as I'm concerned, this kind of thread doesn't belong on XDA. If you want to gripe about a ban, then privately message one of the administrators or senior moderators.

I would add that the above fails to address a significant portion of the reason for his removal. Namely the creation of an account to go about thanking himself, and the IP address evidence from the posts made using "his friend's" account.
Let this be a reminder to everyone. I hate seeing this kind of thing. Use secure passwords. Don't give them to ANYONE. If someone gives you their password, don't use it. It's not worth it.
Especially when people are dealing with money and financial things - it's not right for one party to imitate another...
So yes, I would remind people that the above is merely one viewpoint from the individual concerned. It does not address the evidence regarding use of accounts. Either way, I have seen satisfactory proof that the posts were made from Melvin's connection, and not that of the account holder.
I don't know what these kids are playing at, but folks, take this as a learning opportunity - if you have shared your password, change it. Then don't do it again. Make sure it's a good one. It's your duty to keep your password safe on XDO, and other sites you use.
And yes, making unauthorised access to another user's account is illegal. We don't want to investigate if you had permission or not - that's what the courts are for. Just a reminder to look after yourselves online

1-Star spamming on the android market. Anyone else had the same problem??!

Hey guys,
Just wondering if anyone else has been on the end of a 1-star spamming from a "competing" developer? I say "competing", because my apps are all free!
Here is an example of someone coming along and spamming my rating:

As you can see, the application doesn't get reviewed very often. I think it must have got above the search ranks for a certain developers app, and then boom, 20 1-star ratings.
Anyone else had the same problem? You would have thought google can see it's the same person/dev and act appropriately. Imagine this is more of a problem for people trying to make money from the marketplace!
I've had 1 star ratings from my competition (I could tell because they used their real names for their comments) but not 20 ratings all in one go like that.
Btw what app are you using to track ratings?
The app is Andlytics, it's excellent for tracking like this. They just pushed an update with much more detail as well. Would recommend it.
Still can't believe people would spam a free app like that. It's just sad!
You should name and shame
Also I think you should only be able to rate if you are willing to write a review for it. Would cut down on this a bit..

Well. The app above is a caller id application (NameBuzz). When you searched for "caller id", it briefly came in 3rd place, now it comes in 11th after the rating hit. So I'm assuming it's one of the developers above that... but obviously I have no way of being sure, so I can't name and shame!
Curious, I only see 6 1 stars, and they're all basically saying "it vibrates after answering". So maybe you have a problem with specific phones?
I don't know if it helps, but you might put some text in there about how to contact you and how to contact you and that you can't help people just based on comments alone. I myself didn't realize that a developer can't contact you from a comment until after using the market for a bit.

Thanks for feedback. The 20, 1-star ratings, were left WITHOUT a comment. Hence the reason you can't see who it's from (not that the name means much), and you can't see the ratings. All that happens is the app drops rating level drastically. However, from the developer console, you can see that 20 ratings have been made.
The comment about contact details, I guess I should put that in there, but I think the comments you refer to are actually quite old - since around my January release, the issues have been virtually non-existent. I think the issue here is a basic spamming of my application by someone fairly bored, and extremely sad.

Hey doug,
That's an awesome article! haha. Wasn't expecting that kind of support! It seems like you may have had an impact as well, as my historical rating now looks like this:
Seems as though I've found someone with an non-compatible device though (hence the one star lurking in there), unfortunately, people rarely leave what phone they're using in the comments!
I think the discussion on how to improve the android ratings system is a really interesting one, and something I'm sure Google must have on their TODO list...
I totally wish that Google would fix the rating and comments sections... You can't moderate the comments at all and people spam them with all kinds of bull****. I frequently have users (who must be mentally retarded) leave 1 star ratings and ****ty comments about my apps when a simple search would tell them that the problem is their stupid phone/carrier (an example would be streaming shoutcast on a Sprint EVO which has been broken by HTC since early December). Holy **** I could rant on and on about the comments/ratings for hours... it pisses me off every day!~
EDIT: I wanted to mention that I did get Google to remove one comment but they still left the 1 star rating... some dumbass got his credit card stolen and blamed me for it. On many occasions over the last couple of months I have seriously considered just not making anymore apps for Android because the comments/ratings sections are bull****.
You could try using alternative markets, but none of them have anywhere near the number of users that the official market does.
I can't write an article to support but i downloaded you're app and gave 5*s plus great review, every little helps!

You should see ratson's twitter. I made a comment if he got yet another "1 star, what is root" review for his killer app and he replied that he was already used to such ratings.
On the bright side, at least you have to own the app to rate it. I'm not sure if they've changed this, but in the App Store you could rate apps without actually owning them. A friend of mine basically got spammed by competition and they didn't even have to buy his app.

Honestly, you should avoid reading the comments every day.
I absolutely agree that it's brutal and stressful to read Market comments. So I don't check them too often. If there's a real bug, I'm not going to be able to debug it from a Market comment anyway, I need someone to email me for that. Emails can be brutal too, but generally if someone takes the time to write an email they're at least a bit more considerate than the Market commenter. Also you can actually reply to an email and most times even a pissed off user feels a lot better if they get a reply, even if it's just saying "Sorry, this sounds like a bug, can you give me some more information?".

Lol, totally familiar with the problem. i get ppl recommending not buying an app because I would charge their credit card four times. Or ppl saying that my keyboard have damaged all other keyboards on their device
Here's a tip. Buy your own app with another account. Create a nickname "support" and react on troll comments. Give them tips, ask them to contact you etc. It helps to ease your mind. And I agree with [email protected] don't read the comments too often, in the end honest comments will dominate.
I give a five to every app I choose and works as promised. those 1-star spammers are losers!
i actually went and got your app and gave you a five star rating
but yeah, looks like we got some shady dev on android. google needs to fix this.

First off, thanks guys, I'll post progress again in the next few days, but this is nice reminder that the community does have more power than one spiteful developer (or his "marketing" team).
The comments section can be infuriating at times. I would like to be able to write a one-time comment (visible to all), which would be emailed to the person leaving the comment. That way issues could actually be resolved.
With the Android fragmentation issues in the state they are in, I have no idea on which devices I can expect namebuzz to actually work. I have two phones to test with, and the emulator provides little help. Hence, to simply be able to ask what devices are causing issues, would be a huge insight into fixing or notifying users of known issues.
I just feel sorry for the developers relying on the Android marketplace for revenue, they must be hugely affected by this, and I'm glad I'm not in their shoes...

XDA: The time is right

Dear XDA: I think the time has come for you to step out of the shadows. I was at Barnes and Noble the other day and started looking for a magazine in their sizable magazine section. I was frustrated when i went to look for a magazine about android -anything- and found zero mags. However, i did happen to find 12 magazines covering apple. Soo i searched online and to my dismay have only found one magazine that covers android and only apps. Please save all of us who love android and need something to read on the toilet. I promise you i will be the first to subscribe. There is a desert wasteland when it comes to android magazines and you could be our oasis. Seems like now could be the opportune time.
(sorry for the dramatics...just thought it would be fun to post my thoughts about this...)
A magazine on Android ? hmmm...
It's a good idea. There's inough content out there right now to fill a year's worth of monthly editions. I'd subscribe (as long as it wasn't priced unreasonably), and it could open way more people to Android rooting/flashing/modding...

+1 thats whats missing actually. go for it XDA. u properly backed up anyway, so ...
Definitely a good idea. The democracy has always overthrowed the dictatorship. That's just the way the world goes.
If nothing else, and I hate to say it, think of the revenues.

Sounds cool. But sounds dangerous for xda also. Just thinking that people who aren't supposed to root or mod their phones might pick up a magazine andtry, then fail, maybe even brick their phones, and then they try sue xda. All i'm trying to say is I think it's best for people who don't have the mindset for modding or whatnot, to not be introduced to it or even tempted.

A Warning on any article helps, they cannot get sued just because someone brick their phone, it wont be XDA fault.
Yeah but some narrow-minded twit is bound to try and go after xda at some point anyways, if it hasn't happened already. And there's always an opportunistic lawyer to accomodate (apologies to any members who happen to be lawyers lol). That's why there are disclaimers at the top of almost every thread. At least magazine revenue would help pay the legal defense fees.
This site has gotten so big since Android got hot, there's a constant influx of people who just bought their first smartphone and already know they want it rooted with CM7 and A2SD, but have no idea how to make it happen. If properly implemented, the mag could be a roadmap to get them started, and teach them some forum etiquitte (search, read, search, read, find correct forum to ask in) before they end up neck deep in technical terms they've never heard before, and a device that no longer boots. Beats following some half-ass youtube video with a megaupload link and then having a first post on xda titled 'help i bricked my...'
Edit: damn you, skepticalguy, you stole my spot ;-p

A warning/disclaimer won't be a magical 'no lawsuit' pass for anyone. If enough people face issues and ends up bricking their devices, the magazine will get sued. Whether the lawsuit succeeds or not is up in the air, but I doubt it's 100% guaranteed to fail and, more likely than not, retailers selling the magazine will then ask themselves if they should continue stocking it or not.
And, of course, we're just talking about lawsuits from regular folks. Imagine if Google (or any number of other corporations involved in profiting from Android) gets a hold of the news that there's a magazine out there advising the general population on hacking the OS. Somehow, I think this is going to be another one of those times when 'Do No Evil' no longer applies.
If XDA decides to gets its own magazine, it should do what others have done: Give advice to look up how to do it, but do not offer any direct advice. If the people reading the magazine decides to continue doing it, then they only have whatever advice source they looked up to blame if something screws up. Of course, this still doesn't give the 'No Lawsuits' pass, but it'll probably be a much stronger case for the magazine.
All of this could just be my pessimism speaking, so no one has to feel that what I said will be unalterable reality. Still, it seems like an awful lot of risk for an attempt to get into a market that is supposedly not doing so well. I mean, there's nothing wrong with being online-exclusive. I doubt Engadget, with its 5+ million visitors, is complaining.
True true. The xda portal is pretty much like engadget itself. And engadget gets some of its news from xda also. Guess the problem is, the amount of people that are interested in hacking and modding, which is a relatively small amount. And well, as said before, we don't want to be inviting people who aren't supposed to be hacking or modding, else we get more threads saying how they bricked their phones. So maybe it's best to just stay as it is now.
^ Yes, you are right about that, but perhaps it's not as matter of exposure.
Look at the iPhone. Jailbreaking is much more widespread than Android rooting, but last I heard, it was still only about 2-4% of the entire iPhone userbase that was doing it. As others mentioned, there are several iPhone/Apple magazines too.
I think hacking has always been the domain of a small number of folks who probably knows the method to find out how to do such things by themselves anyway. The overwhelming majority probably doesn't want to hack and additional exposure by magazines to them might increase the hacking community by a small amount, but probably not any very significantly.
Rooting/jailbreaking/custom ROMS/etc will probably continue to be the domain of folks like those who frequent XDA and it's unlikely that it'll ever be as popular as, say, downloading MP3s until it becomes a super easy/risk-free task that has an undeniable benefit to the common man.
But frankly, I don't see a need to make it as common as downloading MP3s anyway. XDA is freely available to anyone who wants to know and, for those who don't want to know, let them continue using a stock Samsung Nexus S.
Yes... xda is the way forward! It is improving alot!!!!!!!!!
Now we have xda tv, i cant wait to see whats next!

yeah thats poopy, but its the way of the world. people shouldnt do things they love for the hope of money, and if they dont love doing it they shouldnt do it at all.
i agree that the developer should be supported, but, if you like me and cant even afford a 1$ app, using their app and telling people how great it is is the next best thing.
Thanks for the heads up. Its a shame it can't be done but I guess that's what ROMS are for. Maybe Reactive Disorder will see this and kung fu it into one of his. I've been looking at his work and I swear he is half computer with the stuff he does. But anyway I don't agree with swiping peoples work. If they put it out there for free or just want donations then its fine to get it, otherwise PAY THEM FOR THEIR WORK! I am a chef and a musician. I HATE when people rip me off and can't tolerate seing it done to someone else. Nothing worse than spending days/weeks poring everything into something just to have someone else come in and snatch it without even a thought about what you went through. At least in my circles if you get ahold of my recipes or sheet music I can come and punch you in the face when I catch you.

I can see where your coming from but its a little different in the music world. At my shows there is the expensive seats up front, cheap seats in the back and free out in the field. I am not saying that I am after everyone's money just give me credit for my work. I have had people steal my sheet music and claim it as their own before. That doesn't mean I won't make money at all but I put a lot of work into that and to have someone else say they did it is what pissed me off. He could have had it if he just asked but that was weeks of my time lost and I have nothing to show for it. When it comes to apps I agree that there should be a free trial for all of them, but if its not and you can only get it by paying then if you want it bad enough you will buy it. If making apps was my only source of income and someone leaked it and everyone gets it for free without at least donating then I would starve. That's what gets me so riled up.
It's like every thread on here, ReActive butts in and it goes way off-topic (or he just insults someone for posting about a dream), but I can't stay away from this one as it speaks to the core of my principals.

...so how does that change if he asked? What do you have to show for it then that you lost by him not asking? Even if he doesn't ask, you can still say: Hey, I made that, and people are benefiting from it. Isn't that why you create art, so people can enjoy it? Does it really matter if they know who the artist is or not (if you are not trying to make money off it)?

Back to money again. Money is a false construct and has nothing to do with art, skill, or creativity. If your only source of income is payment from individuals for something you can copy and reproduce without costing you any money or time, then you are in the wrong business. If I can't hold it in my hand, it is not a commodity, it is simply knowledge/information/directions/instructions. All of those things should be free to the entire globe.
If I can see it, if I can hear it, if I can learn how to build it... then I have an undeniable human right to record it, copy it, modify it, and redistributed it to anyone and everyone. Not sharing your recipes/sheet-music with who ever is interested (for free) is a crime to my sense of morality/values. It is all just information, and the collection of all the worlds information should be freely available to every human on the planet.
"If I give you a pfennig, you will be one pfennig richer and I'll be one pfennif poorer. But if I give you an idea, you will have a new idea, but I shall still have it too" - Albert Einstein
You can't "build" it, pal.
Stealing my software (or anybody else's) is a crime.
Furthermore, it's not about the love and it's not about the people; it's about the money.
Anytime you publish any kind of IP, you know that there will be theft, but that doesn't mean I have to like it--or endorse it.
Furthermore, this site forbids piracy and if you go around proudly saying otherwise, you will proudly join Jin out there in the wild blue yonder.
If you can "build" all this great software, just make your own. No need to steal it if it's so trivial and easy for you.

I had a huge event to get ready for so getting back into the forums here to post has been challenging. Thank you Orange808. I was upset I couldn't get on to tell the other guy about how stealing from me hurt me, but you got to them first. I say that at the end of the day, no mater how you try to justify it, if you take something that's not yours without going through the proper channels you are a thief. I don't care what kind of Robin Hood complex you have, if you didn't compensate or do whatever else is asked of you to obtain the product, and even ideas can be products, you stole it. I am not ok with that at all. If you are ok with being a thief that's your problem, don't try to make me thank you for it. But with that all said we are way off topic. I started this thread to ask a question. It has been answered. I don't know how to close a thread on this forum, but it needs to be closed. If you want to argue about morality, START YOUR OWN THREAD! Please stop doing it on mine. Thank you.

Ok. I'm quite respectful, and will leave this thread alone as requested. Just know that I would never steal anything from anyone (which requires taking something physical away from them).

I don't have the time/patience to look up and post all of the links , but go to wikipedia and look up Intellectual property and you will see that it is protected and treated as real property with all of the same rights. That means that taking someones music, app, program or any other IP without their permission is still theft. Don't believe me ask a lawyer. As I said before. The original topic this thread was started for has been answered and this thread is closed. Start your own thread if you really want to hash this one out.

Help send Scott.hart.bti to XDA Dev-Con (Special Announcement Made!)

As all of you are well aware, Scott is a major reason why we are able to enjoy Jellybean goodness on our Infuses. Without him, who knows where we would be. He decided to take the challenge of building JB for us, and has continued to improve it so that we can now enjoy a wealth of new features.
Well Scott recently let me know that he was invited to the very first XDA Dev-Con. For those of you who don't know what that is, XDA Dev-Con is a conference by developers, for developers. It's a chance for the brightest developers across XDA to come together and meet in person to share and collaborate their ideas and help further the development on XDA. As well as attend presentations from the very best on XDA.
And as some of you probably already know as well, Scott has a little one coming along the way, and if he's like any other parent out there, he is investing a lot of money in preparation for having a baby around the house. But I know that he would very much like to go to the XDA Dev-Con.
The conference is being held August 9-11 in Miami Florida at the Conrad-Hilton Hotel. This location that was picked is "relatively inexpensive", but I can only imagine what it must cost to stay in Miami.
So this is where you come in. I am asking the Infuse community to come together and see if we can't raise enough money to help send Scott to the XDA Dev-Con in Miami. I think it would be a great way to show Scott how appreciated he is for his development on the Infuse. And his Beanstalk ROM has been slowly flooding across XDA to other devices, including much newer devices like the SGS3, and the Note 2. Yes, the SGS3 and Note 2 are running ROMs that Scott had built for the Infuse because it is that good. And if you read through those threads, they all praise how many great features are built into Beanstalk. I believe it's been ported to about 15 different devices. And I'm sure more will follow. All because of Scott's dedication to the Infuse.
I know that we can find a way to help send Scott to Miami. I'm not going to set up any kind of fund for him, but ask that you donate directly to him through his donation link found here:
Yes! I want to Donate to Scott!
We can let Scott decide how he would like to spend the money.
I know that I would love to see a post from Scott that shows a confirmation letter to XDA Dev-Con. I hope that you do as well. And even if we don't manage to raise enough to send him, I for one will know that I have donated to a great developer, and a great person. And soon, a great father.
So let's send Scott to Miami!
Infuse Rom maintainers, if you would be so kind as to post a link back to this thread I would appreciate it. *I want to get the word spread to others that may not see this thread, but I do not want to spam. *Thank you.
[Mods, I apologize if this is in the wrong section. But I posted here because I think people visit this section more than the others. Please move to the correct forum if necessary.]

Im honored that this was opened for me. I would absolutely love the chance to attend the developer conference. The invite i received list the conference in the beginning of August and will be 2 nights and 3 days. During that time, I would have a chance to meet and collaborate with many of the other well known developers and im sure that I will be able to learn a ton from them.
With a community like this, I dont think I will ever be upgrading my phone. I may be infuse for life.
And for those of you who like memes
Will be detonating 10-15 dollars when I get to my computer, it's not much but it's really all I can afford as I'm still currently unemployed, but hey every little bit helps huh?

I'll be sending you $25 right now. And more in the near future. Thank you very much Scott, for all you've done.
I have donated $10 for Scott. :good:
Donated $25! Thanks for all your hard work! I really appreciate it!
On an SGS4, but I still frequent this....
Will you jump on ATT SGS4?
Special Announcement!!!
A member has recently contacted me and requested that I make a very special announcement on his behalf. This member would like to remain anonymous for right now. He has informed me that we need to get Scott the recognition that he deserves. I was absolutely blown away by his message and i believe this is what XDA (and the infuse community especially) is all about. I could not thank him enough. So enough blabbering, here is the announcement.
This anonymous member will match any donation towards sending Scott to the XDA Dev-Con this year!
In addition, if we are short of collecting enough money, they will make sure that Scott at least breaks even!
Incredible! But to the rest of the infuse community. Let's not let this one generous member bear the weight of this. Let's keep those donations coming and show Scott and our anonymous friend that we can pull this together and give back when we have been given so much.
Infuse users, keep donating! And a huge thank you to the users that have donated so far. You guys are awesome!

That is great! I'll be sending another $25 later when I get off work.

That is great news! Do we know what is it up to now and what is the goal?
So it appears we have a problem. I was discussing this with my wife and she pointed out to me that the conference is scheduled 3 weeks or so after the date of her c section for my sons birth. She informed me that since it is a major surgery and it is shortly after the surgery, she would not feel comfortable being alone with our newly born son and it is my responsibility to take care of my family first. So with that being said, It looks like the Dev-Con trip to Miami for me is cancelled for this year due to ****ty timing.
Although I am not able to go, I would like to express how truly grateful I am to be a part of such a great community like this one. The fact that this page was created to help send me to Miami for a few days is unbelievable and shows just how awesome the XDA members are. I couldn't be happier to develop for the infuse threads. No matter what i say, it will never justify how appreciative i am for all of this. Hopefully the conference will be a success this year and will be scheduled again in the very near future and i will have the opportunity to attend again.
Now... Where do we go from here? To the members that donated and had promises of donating: Thank you very much for your support. Since i am not able to go this year, I wanted to give the members that donated a chance to be refunded if they so desire since the donation was technically to help fund the trip to Miami, which i am no longer able to attend. Please shoot me a PM and let me know if you wish to be refunded and i will do so.

Refund the money? Hell naw. (Dunno about other people)

Sad to hear it, but grateful to be a part of this community. Congratulations and blessings on the new born to you and your wife, from me and my wife. There aren't many things that I feel good to contribute to, but this community ranks among the highest. Thanks for everything so far and a toast to all the great things to come.
Buy some diapers and an outfit with my donation! Congrats and good luck on everything.
I was looking how infuse section was and came here. I dont know how to say how much happy I am seeing this. This community is the most united I've ever seen. I own a Nexus4 now but I'll aways remember and like this section. I'll aways remember my infuse and like it. You'll never see a treath section like the infuse one. On Nexus 4 section you dont see things like this one. Anyway I want to thank you Scot for all this. You aways make a great job and you deserve all this. Congratulations! And I'm happy to say that my first jB device was an infuse
Truly Amazing...
Such a Nice Community we have.
Nice saying,
I liked your last line "remember that we're not your kids"

Girlfriend cheating!

So my brother came to me today and knows i can root phones and whatnot. He thinks his girl is cheating on him. He says she has one of those apps that changes the notification icon of recieves messages from certain contacts and the messages dont show up in her normal inbox. At this point he just wants to catch them in the act. So, she has a samsung galaxy S1 and i know i can root it. He said he wants it so when she sends/recieves a text, it saves whatever is sent/recieved to a file OR saved in a database somewhere. and he wants a gps on her phone that lets him check where her phone is.
What apps/hacks can i use to do this without her knowing? He said hes even willing to pay for any apps if neccesary. But the apps cant be noticeable. Thank you guys Raidenbeats out!!

Look for any apps named like Shady SMS or whatever. It's like THE cheating app. If she has that, you don't even have to catch her.
Since she is going to know right away that her user data got all wiped when you rooted it why bother
^^^^^^^ this. Yeah really. If she's going to know since her data gets wiped. I'd recommend your brother having a good friend of his, one that she doesn't know, or at least doesn't know what he drives, have him drive your brother around and see where she goes. She won't know cuz she won't know that she's being followed. Or just have your brother's friend follow her...
And take this from someone with experience with this, women are VERY VERY good liars. Unlike us men, who are kinda good liars, but women, they are twice as sneaky as us men, TRUST ME! Anyway, if he catches her with another guy, and she lied about where she was at, and she says that they are JUST friends, she's lying! She's a freaking LIAR! And NOW is the time to KICK HER TO THE CURB! And then find the guy she's hanging with and twist his neck! Or at least curb stomp his little bitc# ass!!
Sent from my HTCONE using Tapatalk 2
Well he already knows she is cheating. He just wants to catch her. He also said he doesnt care if it wipes her user data, he will make her background the same as it was before and redownload all her apps. She already "accidentally" deleted all her contacts (because she had the other dudes number in there) so she wont notice that. + shes kind of a bimbo and would probably just chalk it up to her phone dropping. (She cracjed the screen and thinks that will mess up the software so it wouldnt be hard to convince her otherwise)
So no one has an app/hack to suggest?

Assuming you're in the US/Canada or any country in the EU this would be highly illegal and I'd advise not doing it.
Tell your brother to take her somewhere that is in public with a lot of people around, expose her for the POS that she really is, and leave her there.
Then he should throw a party to celebrate throwing out the trash.
Cheating is for selfish, pathetic, spineless and untrustworthy people.
If you don't want to be with someone, treat them like a person and be honest, just tell them.

You are strongly recommended that you should not post these kind of threat here in xda. Because they are non legal and they intrude with the policy of xda's policy if non development. So beware before posting such threats.
