Anyone know how to fix Quickpic - when I tap the icon on the home screen it opens up messaging instead of the picture gallery. I tried deleting the icon and replacing it and it does the same thing. I downloaded the latest update from the market and that corrected it for a minute. I closed it and reopened it and it goes back to messaging again.
Are you running a custom rom? try reflashing it if so
Yes I am. Ill reflash and see what I get. Thanks

I have a problem. The launcher I'm using is crashing after the latest update. I mean, I can't do a single thing about it. Homebutton->force close repeat. Is there any way I can get into settings without a homelauncher? I need to force it to stop being default, uninstall it, something. Any ideas? I have quick settings pinned to long press search, but I can't find a link to the full settings app there either. My phone is completely useless right now. I can make emergency calls from the lockscreen, but that is it.
Can you get to the market?
I had a similar problem the other day and luckily, a notification popped up indicating that I had updates for aps available. I got the to the market from the notification pull down menu. Once there, I DL'd "Launcher Pro" and "Home Switcher". Once they were both installed, I launched "Home Switcher" from the pull down notification menu and switched my default launcher to "Launcher Pro".
If you can get to the market, this might work for you too.
You can use adb to install another launcher or create a cwm zip file to flash in recovery which will copy the apk. Also, as the other poster stated, getting into the market you could dl another. Not sure if using the market website on your computer would work as I haven't used the feature but it may.
Yeah, what those guys said, try going to http://market.android.com on your computer and see if you can push some other launcher to your phone. If you can't and everything else fails, and you want to try repairing your rom without losing your data, you can download the cwm flashable zip of the rom you're running and edit the update script in META-INF to not format the data partition, then reflash the rom. Pretty sure that'd work on any 2.2 based rom, not sure how well that'd go over on CM7.
Thanks for the responses. The web market would probably have worked as well. I ended up remembering I had swipe pad enabled, and just changed a box to settings. Was just coming to update the post. Wish android had a feature that would, if an app launched and closed x number of times, it would stop launching it/clear it from defaults.
Basically, I was rooted, everything worked fine, I was happy with it. Phone crashed when I restarted it once for some reason (every app force closing persistantly when I turned on the phone), so I went back to unrooted stock and stock bootloaders using the one click application.
Now, I have a battery issue. The Gallery is using up 65-85% of my battery, and "Stay awake" under Gallery is almost the entire time the phone is on. This is despite never taking a picture, or opening the gallery in any way.
Has anyone else had this bug and is there any way to fix it?
Try removing the gallery apk and see if that is indeed your problem. You can add the gallery back later once you figure out your problem.
You may also try redownloading and reflashing one click. You may have a bad download. It does happen.
Or of course the gremlin remover one click.

Edit: When I used one click I was still rooted.
Hello, just did ICS update the other day and ran into an issue. I decided to take a screenshot of a music video while using the default player. Paused video held power and clicked home button. All worked great, did a couple and returned to home screen. i have the new smaller clock widget and a bible app widget and message and mail icons on home screen. when i clicked either message or mail the google voice mail app opened. even taping in the area of the icons opened google voice. it would not let me delete the icons either and being the home screen, i couldn't remove it and clear it that way. all the other desktops worked fine. i had tried the google voice widget earlier but it would install behind the app icons and acted weird so removed it. things had worked fine up until the screen shots. i tried force closing google voice but did not fix.
restarting and removeing battery did not work either. ended up factory reseting. just wanted to share, incase there is something else i could have tried and to let others know.
sorry for bad typing, using ps3 controller to type
stock never rooted htc sensation 4g. i factory reset before and after the ics update
Very very strange deal here.
So I decided to flash a KangKat rom from Cataclysm after a full wipe and everything went smooth.
However, I noticed I was missing a shortcut in my app drawer for Camera.apk?
I checked settings to see if the actual app was installed, and it was. There just happened to not be an icon for it anywhere on the launcher.
That meant there was no way for me to get to my camera app besides launching it from the gallery.
I flashed back to KangKat and I had the same issue. Then to Cataclysm once more, and you guessed it, no Camera.apk.
Is there something I'm missing?
Hello,
So I've noticed on my S8+ that when the YouTube app is on the latest version 12.17.54 the crop to fit icon is no longer there but if I go to the Playstore app and type in YouTube and hit uninstall, it reverts back to version 11.43.54 and the fullscreen icon appears again and works fine. I've checked settings, done 3 factory restores, even set it up as a new phone on the 3rd try in case it was my Samsung account backup causing it but nothing fixes the issue. Anyone else have this problem?
Thanks
Isaac
Im not sure i understand what your saying.
Im on the neweat ver.
