[Q] Problem with Touch Screen Buttons on Samsung Galaxy S2 - General Questions and Answers

Hi Guys!!!
I recently bought myself Samsung Galaxy S2 from online store. It's almost about 3 weeks old now. I loved evrything aspect of it..to such an extent that I named my SGS2 'Andriod Monster' but this monster of mine soon showed signs of deprication
These are the problems I am facing.
-The two touch screen button are not lighting up. They are working fine but the light on them doesn't show. I have restarted my monster quite a lot times but that didn't help. Couple of times it glows for a mere 5 secs and then again the light on the touch screen button goes off.
-Also my internet has stopped working on the phone. It does not show the 'E' symbol on the top. One more thing I've noticed is that everytime I restart the monster, the 'Data Network Mode' is always shown deactivated. Even after I activate the 'data network mode' after restarting it doesn't help and my internet( the 'E' symbol) doesn't work/show.
Can anyone help me with this please.
Is this a software issue or hardware issue?
I haven't tried factory reset yet.
Also to note after I replaced mysim with my friends sim, the internet started working but the Touchscreen buttons still had the same problem.
HELP!!!!

[Q] Unresponsive touch screen?

I got nexus s (i9020T) recently and found the touch screen unresponsive sometimes. I've already tried several launchers(adw, lancherpro, go launcher ex), and it seems not launcher's problem. I've also tried to flash different ROMs, including CM-7rc2 and stock 2.3.3, and the problem remains.
Later I tried to bind Multi-touch Visualizer 2 to long pressing home button, and found the when screen is unresponsive, it can still detect press near edges very well, but not the center. While I press at the edge and drap across the center, it keeps tracking my finger correctly. In addition, Locking and unlocking the screen can solve the problem temporally.
I'm confused by the strange behavior, anyone experienced similar issue?
more info from test,
I connect my phone with adb, and tried to "cat /dev/input/event0"
The behavior confirms what I see in Multitouch Visualizor 2: the when the center of screen is unresponsive, nothing can be read from the device node.
I read the mxt224 touch screen controller doc, and it seems the chip features self-calibration, and thus I believe the "lock & unlock" will trigger the chip to tune it self in some way. I don't know kernel very well, so I cannot find the source code Any help please?
FYI. we are not alone.

I got this problem too whenever my phone is in my pocket facing inward.
I have tried to open the calculator to see which part of the screen having problem. Mine is usually the "8" and "5" location unresponsive if my phone stayed in my pocket facing inwards for a certain period of time.
The problem will goes off after couple of mins when i can feel that the phone is cooler than my body temp.
I knew this happens to the Dell Streak as well.

[Q] Samsung Galaxy s Plus, screen got blank after drop

Hello,
Last week my Samsung Galaxy S Plus fell on the ground from about 1,5 m and the result was that on the screen some cracks appeared, and it didn't work. When I tried to switch the phone on I could hear the welcome ringtone, the sensor buttons worked, and even the shortcut for screenshot (home key + back sensor button) also worked, but the screen was blank.
So I bought a brand new screen and replaced the broken one, but the result was the same - the phone switches on, but the screen is blank.
Do you have any ideas where the problem could be?
Thsnks.

Galaxy S6 - Various hardware and software issues

Hello everyone, I am using a Galaxy S6 32GB smartphone. I bought it a month ago which is really a small amount of time, but in that time the phone has gotten a wef problems. First of all the TouchWiz is really buggy and slow, when I tipe the pin on the lock screen the number keyboard gets unresponsive and slow. It can take a few seconds between clicking the unlock or home button and turning on the display. 2 times the display didn't even want to turn on, the finger sensor under the camera would start flashing red, and when the screen would turn on it would give me "TouchWiz has stopped working" error, and it started working normally when I restarted, but that didn't solve the slowness problem, even now when I'm typing this the keyboard is slow. I wiped the cache in recovery but id didnt help. The next problem which I wound on google that is normal for Galaxy phones is crazy shaking camera when I turn it on, which is not a big deal since the camera takes really beautiful shots. And the last but not least are the purple dots on the front-facing camera. While I don't really care for the camera issues I am looking for a way to fix the software issues, or I should just go to T-Mobile and ask for a new phone?
Best regards and please respond.

Xiaomi Mi4- Screen Glitch Showed Random Colors, Now Phone Doesn't Work

HELP ME PLEASE!! Phone doesnt work at all, I'm so frustrated dont know what to do =(
Hello! I'm Nicolas, from Chile. And i own a Xiaomi Mi4 Since March2015.The thing goes like this, since May the screen had a fringe/bar where the touch sensor stopped working, this was NEVER a problem, because it was an area that we never use. But 2 days ago, i pressed the power button to turn on the screen and put my password, but the screen went mad and showed just fringes with lots of colors, then it barely showed the password screen, then colors again and etc, sometimes it worked fine for like 10 seconds, and it crashed again. The phone started working awfully slow, i mean, with like 4 seconds delay for EVERYTHING, i couldnt use it!!. Sometimes it worked just fine then the screen went mad again, with fringes and dots and black or blank screens. I never did hit the phone in the process, not any kick, nothing, the screen just stopped working, all black. The next day i changed the screen (because i thought there was a problem with the screen cause it was previously with an issue, and i thought the ultra laggy system was a problem with the screen or something, that the incredible lag/delay was because the screen). And the thing is when i changed the screen, a brand new one, the exact same thing happened, nothing works, it is alive because i can screencast the phone on my laptop, but it keeps running incredibly slow, it is too slow i cant even open whatsapp without waiting 2 minutes... I cant even put my password smoothly, because it is so laggy and delayed, that if i press the number "1" it shows up on the screen like 4 seconds later... And i mean it shows up << on the laptop screen>> (not to forget the brand new screen doesnt work neither)... So it is a problem with the processor? the ram? the adreno 330? what? Please i need help, i cant afford a new phone =(.
Plus info: Everything seems to be connected alright, i did the replacement myself watching lots of videos, and everything is simple and i think well done, the phone is still alive, but controlling it by the laptop, screen doesnt work, wifi doesnt work (its like there is no adapter anymore...), 3g signal doesnt work, it does not even recognize my phone company it says no service, I controled it by the laptop and now is playing music at full volume...
I didnt know where to post this, sorry if misplaced.
HELP ME PLEASE!! I would be so thankful! =(

Black screen and dead for few minutes

The first day allready 2 times black screen out of no where and afther that no reaction on any buttons.
The first time i waited 10 min or more then the S7 reacted normal again.
The second time i pushed the buttons....
The only reaction is when i press the same time: powerbutton, homebutton & volume button down.
Has anyone the same problem?
I had that issue once with the home button. I had to schedule a reboot through the craptastical built in scheduler that is says it is supposed to optimize the device. Search for restart in the settings.
I have the same sort of problems. All in all the s7e seems very buggy to me. Random crashes (especially in oculus app), sd card is sometimes not recognised and after most reboots I get two error messages (one about touchwiz and one about system proc). I'm not sure what is going on.
My wife's is a black too. I had a similar issues with my s6 last year it was the brightness had been swiped to low in my pocket, I was able to barely see the screen in a dark room and turn it up. No such luck with her s7. Hope someone can offer an idea, I'm headed to Verizon later if I can't fix it myself.
S7 black screen
Verizon did a reset for my wife's S7 to fix it hold down volume down, right side button, and the button on the face of the phone together for 15 seconds. The phone came right back on with all apps and stuff intact. Hope this helps, they said this wasn't the first S7 to come back like this they think it's a software glitch.
Im having the same problem....
any one having dead galaxy s7 edge not broken

Try turning off the App Power saving mode!! This fixed the black screen problem on my phone.
I've got the same issue (sometimes 4 times in an hour, sometimes it doesn't happen for 2 days..!!).
I've tried fixing by doing a factory reset and turning app power saving mode off.
Unfortunately this did not fix the problem. Yesterday I got an unresponsive blackscreen again :crying:
Any ideas how to fix this problem?
This happened two days ago with my wife's S7 Edge. She was using it to text me about dinner plans after work, her screen shut off, and it wouldn't work for several hours. The thing was getting very hot. When she was home and charging the phone the screen started working again for a little while, but with several green stripes down the right edge snd aa flashing horizontal band of grey near the top overlaying the screen image. Then when I tried plugging it into my computer to use Samsung's Smart Switch to roll back from the update she had accepted while at work the screen died again. It has not come on since, not even the stripes, and blue or red LED lights once in a wwhile at random. I managed to use Smart Switch to wipe the phone's memory. Then the program took several hours to download something very slowly and install that - a whole new OS update? That completed, and now the charging LED works correctly and the green stripes and grey band are back, flashing rapidly when powering on. Otherwise no screen function. She is shopping for a new non-Samsung phone now. Ridiculous.
