I noticed that the file sizes for these two is half, or less than half the size of most of the Infuse ROMs.
How does this affect, performance, battery life, or other phone performance issues?
Or does it at all?
Less bloatware and no gapps. File size means nothing in terms of performance

Droid Overclock is an app I ran across on the Market today with all sorts of nice features.
It may have been out for awile, I just didnt see it.
It costs $1.50. Very Nice App
Looks like it does alot more then setcpu
Oh yeah, I bought this app when I had my d2. Wasn't sure if it supported the incredible though and I just use the built in overclocking in CM.
Its a sweet app though and jrummy did a nice job with the interface.

Makes your processor operate at a faster speed, speeding up your phone. It kills your battery faster though.

Actually (What effects screen brightness and OC CPU have on battery) speeding up your cpu doesn't effect that battery as much as you think its very minimal. So overclock all you want
Does it harm your phone in any way?
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA App
This actually looks a lot better than SetCPU. I like it.
If you overclock too high, to a incompatible setting, the phone will just go into a loop mode. The setting won't be stable.. it errors itself and can't correct it. So you need to scale it back down. Sorry if I don't know all the terms and such.. dinc's are fast just to begin with. I oc'd so I could try and get better benchmark scores. It worked and the phone was stable to where i could use it all the time problem free. I managed to get scores I could be.. once that happened I stopped clocking up, and started scaling back. Undervolting the system with a different kernel / governer setting will yield you the best battery life..

My phone has been getting slower lately..... Can anyone recommend any nice apps thatll possibly boost the speed of my phone and possibly my internet??? also my boot and shutdown times too. Once again, thanks in advance! . yey for xda.
P.s if it matters at all, i use opera mini and miren browser. And for my launcher, i use either openhome6 or launcherpro plus. Thanks once again!
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA Premium App
Delete one of the launchers cause they always run in the background. And use task killer mainly to free up ram space which affects your speed. And dont use too many widgets cause thats alot ram space. And use setcpu set it to 100-1000 ondemand. Hope this helps man

what rom are you on? do you have the icbinb init.d folder? the kh1 fugu tweaks? are you overclocking? are you setting your accounts to update less frequently or manually? have you fixed permissions? deleted unnecessary apps and bloatware?
i went back to frost for a while and it is nothing but speed, especially with the init.d and fugu tweaks. ocing at 1.4 and it is great so far. battery is crazy as well.
You should try changing your launchers too. I realized that my launchers perform differently from ROM to ROM. I'm using ADW and LauncherPro. Also, some launchers have the option of adjusting the opening speed of the menu and the scrolling speed, which gives a better illusion of speed.
As for internet speeds, try switching up your modems.
that phone comes with the kb5 modem which is the newest one right?

KB5 is stock. It's out of box.
KB5 > KC1 > KD1 > KF1 > KF2 > KG4 > KG6 > KH1
K means 2011. The second letter represents the month. The number represents the revision number.
Im currently using KF2. if that changes anything.....

What battery saving apps do any of you recommend. I don't think I'm getting as good a battery life as I'm hearing others get. My battery usage stats say android system is using way too much......about 40 percent sometimes.

This tweak has made a big difference on my phone. It could also be the combination between imo's .9 kernel and this tweak, but my phone is running really smooth and I didnt get passed 75% all day yesterday on my battery. Also when playing NOVA 3, I noticed it was smoother. Check it out and try for yourself, heres the forum link

Interesting, how did you install it? The flammable file or manual install?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Ok got it installed manually, download the zip, extract it and move it to the according folder, and delete the recommended file. Gonna take some time to see the diffrefences.

I noticed the difference throughout the day. Less lag in some apps plus amazing battery life.

What roms are u all using??
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Installed this mod.. not sure if it's really working or not.. I ran a sunspider bench which tests rendering speed of the browser and I got a 1450ms speed on CM10.. seems like it's def faster? I'm not sure though.. I want to say I used to get a 1600ish score beforehand.
ROM/Kernel combination?
I am on Paranandroid's Hybrid CM10 based ROM with Imosyen's Lean Kernel. Has someone tried this tweak with this (or any other CM10 LK combo)? Also, does this have any improvement on HDMI/MHL connectivity? If i play vids using MHL, the video kinda flickers and frames overlap.
I asked this in the main thread but figured I'd pop it here as well. I'm on a T999v GS3 (rooted), and the flash file failed in recovery and my phone doesn't have a system directory to manually put the ecg folder in. What do I do next?
Just curious.
How is this any different than selecting this in developer options?

I have the same question as WolfePack. Would enabling gpu acceleration in developer settings do just about the same thing?
The guy states...
"On ICS and JB I don't think this tweak is really necessary, GB never had it as an option, I guess that's why it feels more effective on GB roms. It's almost as if it's already rendering for UI with GPU on ICS and JB, correct me if I'm wrong it just seems that way to me. "
"Yeah I noticed that, doesn't make much of a difference on ICS for me. If you can try GB you may see a big difference."
"On ICS I can't really notice a difference, but on GB the difference is very well noticeable."
and
"debug.sf.hw=1 does that, which is very default in most build.prop I think you don't have to mess with egl.cfg if you have debug.sf.hw=1"
and on the SGS3 default is debug.sf.hw=1 already so.....
so.. are you sure your really seeing anything? I think this is bunk for us given the above points.
installed... makes ZERO difference, in feel or scores of bench marks.
but it does install just fine
Well either it's imo's .9 kernel or this mod because I'm getting 14 hours at 48%. Your benchmark scores should be lower. At least the 3d ones. But I'm not sure what the difference is for the option in the dev options

Download any CM ROM and don't install GAPPs.
You must try different ROMs and choose the one that suits you.
For Most RAM free, I think SlimBean is your best choice. Just see the attached screenshot.

I imagine you would only notice a difference if you're zipping in and out of multiple apps. And the little differences in amounts of RAM used would have little real world usage differences.
