I have found so many guides on how to move SMS messages from the iPhone to an Android Phone so I was wondering if there is any way to do the opposite. I have searched a lot and haven't much, the latest answer being from early 2010. Being that its the end of 2011, I wanted to know if someone developed anything for it. I currently have a Samsung Captivate and plan to switch over to an iPhone 4 and it would be a HUGE help if I could take my text messages and everything with me. I know AT&T will move contacts over but I'm not sure if they are capable of moving texts.
Any help is appreciated, Thanks.

Hello, You aren't allowed to post you email apparently and it has been removed.
Making this forum the only way for us to help you.
First of all you should ensure wether you have a MileStone (EU) or Droid (US)
You can tell by looking at your phone and checking if it says Verizon.
If it does, I can't help you any further and you should ask for help in the Droid forums. If it doesn't, I'm close to sure we can help you out
So now that you know which phone you have, you've probably done half of the work already. I can't really tell what your problem is, but I guess you have these 2 issues:
1, You have no GPS-Application. You can buy, or get one for the phone. I'm talking about softwares like Navigon and iGo, which aren't free though, but allow you to navigate without internet (for if you don't have an internet contract.)
If you don't want to pay any money and own an internet subscribtion in your contract, you can just use Google Maps to navigate! Update it through the android market and you're good to go!
2, Now for the second issue:
Unfortunately we don't have any chance of getting custom roms! Only the Motorola Droid Does! There is a way through nandroid backups, but seen the fact that you are just new to the whole thing, I'd recommend you to explore the forums and later on install MotoFrenzy, or the official update to Froyo from motorola, which they will, according to them, release by the end of 2010
Hope I helped!
Greetings, Mike
Hi.
Im using HD7. Now I'm going to hard reset it but I want to backup my SMS first. Is there any way to do that?
Thank you alot.
Nope. Hopefully they add that ability, but as of now there is no way.
That's bad. I dont know why M$ don't care about SMS backing-up or synching...

It will come in time. Windows mobile can backup their sms's into the cloud. I imagine this will come to wp7 as well.
Backing up sms on wp7?
Did you ever find a solution?
Has anyone?
it sure would be nice, this is killing me not being able to...
Thanks, and hope someone replies to the post.

Their is so no solution, dont you get it?
Well, u would think after almost a year, you would think that someone would have come up with one. I don't even know why previously software companies didn't do yet, its a cash cow. So I get it, but someone didn't get it done yet.
Folks, the myphone cloud storage that WM had will be coming to Windows Phone. Its just not there right now.

The funny thing is that HTC recommends people to search marketplace and I have caught them on this and they keep throwing out crap suggestions because they don't want to unlock the boot loader as promised by Peter Chou back in may... This whole thing is a scam and the FTC and FCC should look into..
so, this cloud development is a way for our personal data on servers.
.zune, live all begin the events of privacy invasion. So this is my guess y no one has came up with a way to be able to extract our data as Zune does a backup(full) everytime a released version firmware, including our sms's.
big bro, lil bro, sis, big sis, lil sis- hackers anonymous will all play silly putty with our lives... Hehe
Hello,
I got recommended this forum by someone from a mountain bike forum I use as apparently you guys are the authority on all things Android!
Firstly I have a Samsung Galaxy Ace running 2.2 which I got from 3, being a network they have ruined the phone with gambling Apps and other crap that it won't let me delete. I've heard that Android in its pure form (and not networked up!) is as smooth as iOS and my phone currently has a tiny bit of lag.
Also, it won't run flash (something I thought 2.2 was meant to be able to) other than on its youtube App?
Anyway, what I want to do is put the normal Android 2.2 on there free from all of 3's crap, but if I do this is there anyway 3 would know and block my handset?
One other question, Google voice search seems to be pretty good at recognising my words. In the youtube tutorial video it shows the guy saying 'send text to blah de blah I'll meet you outside this place in 40 minutes' and the phone does it. When I try it just google searches 'send text to (whoever I want to text) *message*'
Thanks guys, sorry if this is obvious.
unfortunately there isn't a section for the Samsung galaxy Ace.
But someone started a thread for it check it out.
Hope it helps

Looks like at the moment you can only root it since there aren't any custom roms, have faith
What you're looking to do is root your phone and install a custom Rom. I'm not familiar with your phone, so I can't tell you specifics. You would probably get the most info by going to the forum for your device & reading the stickies.
If you do root your phone, you have to be sure to have it unrooted & returned fully to stock before you could take it to the carrier for repairs. I know this is fairly simple for the Evo, but again - I'm not familiar with your phone so you would need to look it up.
If you have any questions or need any clarification, send me a pm. I'd be glad to help.
I ask, mostly because of texts. I am one who never deletes my old texts, so I have quite a many thousands that I want to migrate from WM6.5 to WP7. Please don't flame me. I know MS hasn't released the API stuff and Mango, but I have to ask here just in case someone has figured out a way? I tried google'ing exactly how I have it worded in the title, with no hits.
one word,solve your problem.
IMPOSSIBLE
Nope, there is still no way to do it.
Not yet...

To anyone that has the time an is smart enough to help me. I have two very questionable roommates. I have a Samsung A32. My room mates are "wanna be hackers". Well about a week ago i was on a jobsite till about 8 pm. Came home passed out. Woke up next day an they was acting shady as hell. Ever sonce that day my emails, my phone, my service.... hardly any of it works. Ive lost about 800$ from purchases made from my phone that i didnt make. Long story short ive read about phone an sim card cloning but im 45 years old an i know nothing of this..... My question.... Can anyone help me find out whats happened to my phone? Walk me through it? Cause the roomates i speak of are my girlfriends 18 an 24 old sons. And i would need to be able to prove this is happening so i dont feel horrible kicking my girls kids out. If someone could help me prove this or if someone could help me stop this from happening. All advice will be much appreciated an wont be forgotten. Thank you

Theres tons more to it then this. This is just basic. If u have any questions about any of this info ask please. This is a mess
submit error report to samsung members app > get help > error report . then title it something like "I've been hacked" or "suspected hacking"
there is a separate team that handles hacking issues at samsung. Hope you get your $ back (this part you'll have to talk to your bank and ask for help for suspected theft/hack/fraud)
Yeah, I tried that on advice from a co worker. Samsung said I was pretty much screwed on return cause it was a At&t problem. So At&t trouble shot, but did no good. Is there no way to just find out what happened an when? I appreciate you commenting. Please anymore advice will be greatly appreciated.

did you call samsung or did you report error as I suggested? calling them only gets you to Customer Service agent that works off of scripts.
Reporting error gets it to the engineers who look through the logs and analyze device events.
If it is hacking then as noted before, the team that deals with hacking will help you out... otherwise samsung engineers should be able to identify what the potential cause of this is.
Similar with AT&T, unless the engineers have the device with them or is able to look into the software to analyze the events recorded... there's not a whole lot they can do.
If you've already submitted an issue ticket and that's the reply that you got back... then I don't know what else to tell you
Go to the police? You seem to have some answers already if you suspect sim cloning...

yea... that could be one option I suppose. As long as you don't mind making the 'friend' relationship awkward a.f. by bringing in the police. If they aren't that close in the frist place and you can manage to break ties with them, then sure... I'd go for it as well.
Hey guys can someone please help me with some awesome and legit tools to unlock my Galaxy A32 5G from MetroPCS by T mobile?

unlock as in root the phone or unlock as in release the phone from being locked to Tmobile? if the latter, then you just need to pay off the phone or wait a few months (depends on the TMobile rules on unlocking the phone) and ask for the phone to be unlocked.
