Movie tab not showing in Market 3.3.11 nor 3.3.12 - HTC Inspire 4G

I have a non rooted Inspire 4G running Gingerbread, it has the Google music showing now but not the movie tab? My wife's Captivate running Fryo has both though? I uninstalled 3.3.11 update and then found the 3.3.12 update apk, also no fix? Any ideas on how to fix, I looked and didn't see any other post, but apparently movies were out with 3.1 update and I've never had it this whole time.

mine doesn't show movies either

ive the same problem with the market as well, its the most recent one too

I believe the Movies tab is region specific.
Maybe try to allow google to see your location or something.

I'm in the US and it's on my wife's Samsung Captivate.

Apparently Google support says this phone is not supported with video? My buddies Evo has it and I think the Sensation also. Wth

No DesireHD/Inspire whether rooted or not rooted has the movies tab in the market. Has nothing to do with being rooted or not or because of what region you are in. It is simply because you have a Desire HD/Inspire. Google or HTC never said why.

Here's my answer from Google .......
Hello Marcus,
Thanks for contacting me today. As it turns out, the HTC Desire is currently not compatible with movies on Android Market at this time, which is why you had trouble seeing the videos section.
Since you will not be able to watch rentals on this device, we encourage you to watch movies from market.android.com through a browser on your personal computer instead.
We appreciate your enthusiasm for Android Market Movies, and look forward to providing a stellar movie rental experience to you in the future.

Working Dexter app

Showtime recently released a new app for Dexter, has it worked for anyone? The app runs on my phone using only half the screen and force closes almost immediately after being launched. I'm a huge dex fan, any help would be much appreciated

I am also a huge Dexter fan. I will try this app on my Sensation, G2X, Nexus One and Nexus S to see how it acts on each one. Ill let you know what happens. By the way, I have been going through withdrawal and will be going through it until season 6 starts. This app would be a great way to calm my cravings.
Seriously though, Dexter is the best show ever made. Usually a series starts to get bad after its 3rd season but Dexter is still going strong.

Force closes on mine as well. I'm addicted to HBO Go now.

Even with custom roms I've had no success running the app
Possibly due to the resolution?

That's right, I was messing around in the market and I stumbled on it, I'm not sure how many of you know, but the my touch 4g now has official netflix app, it runs pretty smoothly, go check it out.

What ROM are you running. The MyTouch4G/Glacier isn't on their officially supported list.
wooo hoooo finally!
version number? a lot of us have been running 1.3 for a while...
I just got the phone this past week and am still using an unrooted 2.3.4 MT4G. I got the app this past weekend, so it is supported.
Lmao. The mytouch 4g slide has official support. Not the regular my touch. If u are using unity or daddys port u will have show in the, market. But it still works non the less.

correct, some of the ROM builders have inputted a coding that makes the market think it's a officially supported phone.
Exactly...

I have 2.3.4, I just got the phone so its just the update from tmobile, but yeah, I downloaded netflix from the market and used it. Its version 1.3
So how did I get it? I wish I am that good, but I am not ;-) anyhow I have a brand new one, not rooted yet, and no plans on modding this phone until I read about the different rom's.

found that some ROM's seem to make the app dissapear on the market, however if you log in to your Netflix and go to streaming you can choose Android and it will take you to the app on your PC which will then DL to your MT4G...that's what I did. Works great.
Big applause for Netflix streaming on my phone
Did not know that that. Thanks for the heads up.

But not on cellular network and not in that nice black theme. I'll give it a go.
Edit: works great ! Dropped it in system/app and it auto installed. Looks great in black theme and hd world over cellular network.

What will happen if i install and then there's an update available from the play store, will the update destroy the HD over cellular function?

Then there's no point in installing this unless the op from the other thread is going to update/patch each new update for us, IMO. Otherwise i think this is awesome.

I have an option in settings to always show videos in HD even on cellular network. So what's the point of this app?

I think YouTube has a higher quality setting tucked away nicely that is only on wifi. The differences between high quality ("HD" on mobile) and real "HD" are very small and also dependent on what video you are watching. It is nice however to have the option now that we have blazing fast LTE.

Bookmark the thread, and simply.. don't update unless it's a substantial update which I doubt will happen.. and if it does.. check your bookmarked page

It's an old feature to save on data and ease stress on bogged down networks.

I guess I'll install it and subscribe to the original thread for updates. Cheers

I use Hulu plus on my pc and my tv so its a plus having it on my phone too. I refuse to pay the insane price for cable so I use Hulu and netfix. And having it on the phone is a nice bonus.

Why can't I access Google movies on my Inspire 4G?

I have been wondering for awhile as to why I don't have access to Google movies, Why is that? Is there a way that I can install it on my phone. I would love to rent movies from time to time.

They may support our devices soon but I haven't found a legit way to trick the play store. I've been looking too.
Originally it was only available for non rooted inspire 4G's
