[ADVICE] AN awkward thing with hTC battery and an advice - HTC Desire S

I saw an awkward thing with my phone . it doesnt matter which rom radio hboot I use .it just happened many times with me and my phone.the thing is whenever say I have my phone plugged in and the phone has say 75%+ charge , if I restart the phone then after restart the phone battery is somehow miscalibrated and shows 100% :O . it just turned off and restarted is it possible to even charge to 100% in this short time? after that I will face terrible battery drain as the battery is actually somewhat 75% which is shown to be 100%.... so try not to ever do it guys cause then you have to recalibrate with the long process of my previous guide of battery longing. terrible thing to do always .. and when you restart or reboot with adb try to pull it out as soon as the code is executed . yes I faced this with adb too. when I wrote "adb reboot recovery" it resarted to recovery but after the startup my battery of 72% became 100% . you can do this or else have your battery to 100% when using that . Hope it helped! and people with desire s please see if this happens with you I know I wrote this so you dont do it but please do it once to see if it happens all you have to do is have your phone plugged to charger having 75% battery restart your phone and see if your battery reads 100% later follow this

enter recovery.delete battery stats.done.

Yeah this happened to me had to run battery calibration again

I too face this issue as well. I don't often charge/use my phone at the same time though, so it isn't much of a big problem for me

It seemed to affect me on all roms. Do you think it is hardware or software related? Could it be related to the hboot version?

random reboots, battery pulls due to freezing, terrible battery life.
just wait till gingerbread is out then get the phone.
the only problem I've had with my phone is just the gps taking a long time to lock.. Other than I've been problem free and great battery life
My first one was crashing all the time. I just got a new one and it hasn't crashed yet, but the backlight is too intense and bleeds through. Wait for the S2.

[Q] Gingerbread power on/off "tv style" screen collapse effect

I just got a Sensation from Telstra in Australia...
Great phone, but as usual, heaps of their bloatware on there.
One thing I know Gingerbread does, which I had on my custom rom for the HTC Desire, was the power on/off "tv style" screen collapse effect.
Does anyone have this on the Sensation ? Not sure if it should be there and telstra stuffed it up, or HTC has removed it.
Anyway to get it to happen before the phone is rooted?
Warmly, Marty
Nope... I don't have it on mine (Swiss Carrier). I like that effect but seems like it has been removed by HTC. Correct me if I'm wrong

I just sent a tech support email to HTC to ask where the setting is to turn this on...(ie: It's a feature of Gingerbread, HTC Sensation runs Gingerbread so how do I do it?....) if everyone else does the same...
Marty
PS. and this is WHY they should not lock the bloody bootloader - I would just put on a custom sense3 rom that had it added back...

I have actually taken the framework-res.apk and decompiled it or whatever with apk manager and I have added the necessary fix, but this being my first time messing with that, it failed couldn't get it to build again :/ I read that it was an issue with sense, blur and so on Roms but I tried :/ maybe someone more talented than I can do it

Adusting the framework.apk - that would not work until you have s-off or root anyway would it?
They removed the affect that you get when you reach the bottom of a menu. Not sure why they did that.
We have temp root already which let's us change the system files until next reboot. So I was thinking it might work, don't know until I'd be able to finish compiling that thing :/
Idk I'm just a noob when it comes to that lol

New HTC Battery Widget

Just downloaded the new HTC Battery widget.
Nothing fancy, it's just a battery icon that sits on your home screen displaying how much battery power is left as a percentage.
When clicked on basic info opens in a new window such as health, voltage and temperature.
Just thought I'd pass it on just in case anyone is interested.
Lol its not new bro, its been around since I was using Android on my HD2. But yes I noticed it wasnt available for the sensation when I first looked on hub so I just ripped the .apk from my desire hd

[QUESTION] ICS on OLDER PHONE LIKE US

hello we all own a DS but as the following link says that even we get ICS then ,
"What'll happen on phones that do have physical
buttons, then? Will Ice Cream Sandwich work on
those types of devices?
Yep -- only instead of getting the on-screen
navigation buttons, you'll use your phone's physical
buttons in the same way you do now. The menu key
will load any contextual on-screen menus, and long-
pressing the home key will load the multitasking tool,
just like it has in past Android releases."
reference:http://blogs.computerworld.com/19133/android_ice_cream_sandwich_faq
I'd seen superkids ICS but there I see those on screen keys present.
someone make it go ...

i know it will work but as we already have capacitive buttons so the on screen buttons seem obsolete taking up space of our screen without any freaking need . so devs should make it go away somehow . dont look at me I am not a developer i just dont wanna loose my pixels over those obsolete onscreen button for us ...

They're sdk ports. Also the files have to be changed for our devices because they're all based on the galaxy nexus
Sent from my HTC Desire S using xda premium
Superkid will remove these once the whole lot is working I should assume. No need to worry! We are not running on old phones, so there is a slight possibility we will get an OTA update
i personally think htc will update the desire s to ICS since they did upgrade the ds to sense 3 and they said they won't. Also sony ericson is promising ics on every phone with a 1ghz processor released in 2011, and if they deliver htc will be under fire for not giving ics to both the desire s and incredible s. Also htc will lose the excuse of saying the hardware is too old/slow to support ics since the current list only consists of dual core phones.
I've tested Superkid Alpha ICS but it won't stop crashing! We'll get ICS but wait for it a bit longer... ^^
It crashes because of wallpaper, and i deleted the phisical bottons already, check last page in my post
I'll calm down and looking forward to have that ROM to wear on my DS. I'm sure all DS owners are looking at this thread and do a following up information how an ics goes far...
I hope to test it soon or one days
May I add one more question , Ive read somewhere that the nexus prime is capable of Portable mass storage (external harddisk) is this coz of ics or is it hardware related? If software will it mean that if we get our ics update we will also have the same thing? That would be neat!

To my understanding that's a hardware thing so even if we do get ics it wont be there as you need usb host support to be able to use portable hdd, gamepad etc.

Just to keep you informed, i've tested 2.3.1 of SuperIce from Superkid and it's really really good but it lacks hardware accelaration!
I gives a greap overview of what could be ICS on our desire s
I will wait for official release because I didn't find anything that works...

Capacitive buttons not too responsive !

Hey guys , so i bought an HTC One S (S4) , and i realized that the capacitive buttons are a bit laggy , i don't know how to explain this .. but when i for example click back or home the action itself is done after like half a second .. i had the S3 version , and i didn't notice this on that one !! is it that a normal thing ? is it Sense ?? or is there something wrong with the device ?
P.S Running stock ROM !
Mine is and always has been instantly responsive from the capacitive buttons on stock and custom roms. It's the s4 as well. Not sure what would cause that.

I also bought One S a little time ago and it was lagging as hell (buttons and whole system too). Factory reset didn't helpen at all. But when I installed different RUU it become smuth as butter.
