Just wanted to say thank you to all the developers who have been working so hard on producing all the great stuff for the captivate, sgs, and nexus.
I've been using your awesome mods/roms/kernels/etc for only maybe half a year and it's been fantastic.
The captivate was my first android device and I love it mostly due to your efforts. This phone has the capability to do so many things thanks to you guys. And what's cool is that more often than not, the things that we can do allow us to be competitive with newer better spec'd phones.
I just got a Gtab 10.1 and the development over there is emaciated. It's okay cause they are growing but it's nothing like over here.
I realize now how much work you guys are doing and just wanted to say thanks,
Thanks
Hear, Hear! I agree.

I got a tab 10.1 also and I am itching to flash a new rom to it, but I dont want to mess around with my awesome battery life im getting on a stock rom otherwise I would do it in a heartbeat.
The AT&T SG2 had CM7 and MiUi roms basically on launch day I've notice roms seem to be coming slow on the skyrocket.
Is this because of the different chipsets, Dev Interest, or something else compared to SG2?
(This isn't me complaining I'm just curious , I also noticed no CM7 roms for T-Mobile SG2)
Bump Up My Post count. Also, want answer.
This device is very new. Also There is no international version. Imsure the dev support will increase but gota have patience . Its a totally different device from the sgs2. Just hope more odevs becpme intrested in it. I think once ics is released for.it the dev support will increase. Supposed to be the first at&t device to recieve it

unfortunately, this is the same problem the infuse ran into.... which is why i left...
The SGS2 had it on the international phone, so migrating it was easy. New chip will delay the ROM's on the skyrocket, so be patient

The galaxy s2 lte is the international version of the skyrocket, but the issue is it released at around the same time and is not near as popular as the original gs2.
Our phones are very similar to the tmo GS2, so once they get a cm7 port the skyrocket version shouldn't be far behind.
You should not stick with this phone if you are hoping for a ton of dev support. Frankly, we're lucky to have what we have right now (thanks guys!). This is a one off phone and as such, it's more difficult to port stuff over to it. I consider it highly unlikely that we'll see any Cyanogen or MiUi love on this phone unless portability some how gets easier with ICS.
I'm not huge on installing ROM's just to play with them. I come here more for problem solving on stock + root configs, so this isn't a big deal for me. But I can understand why it's a big turn off to some people.
The ROMS for the Infuse came fairly quickly after the phone was available. Subsequent cooked ROMs then started becoming more stable just about 3-4 months after. Of course, it all depends on the availability of dev support for the SR and hopefully they are coming onboard soon enough.
Then again, if you want *more* than a few ROMs to choose from, then the 'regular' sgs2 may be more up your alley.
I NEED MY STOCK ANDROID BACK... touch wiz is pretty but i went from g1 to n1 to skyrocket and i miss some things
A second line is coming up for upgrade (for the wife) and I have thought about getting/trying out the skyrocket as I have the original att SGS2 and love the rom and dev support. Already testing out the international versions alpha build of ice cream sandwich. But for the wife's phone I don't think I want to mess with it as much though. But it DOES boil down to dev support and roms I guess. Is it really this slow in here? I love my OG SGS2 and even though we will have lte in my area by years end I wont be giving up mine for anything. I got my OG SGS2 two days after launch and at first was excited by the lte version until it was confirmed to have the snapdragon and not the exerynos. So I was glad I stayed.
So my question is has any well known devs jumped into the skyrocket arena yet? The dev section looks kind of lonely right now. I have a month to decide whether to get her a OG SGS2 or the skyrocket so I am in no rush. I saw all the threads and have followed the skyrocket until it was moved out of our sub forum, so I have read all the debates and arguing about the differences between the OG and skyrocket. Haven't been in here for a few weeks now and it looks almost the exact same developer section wise. Other than being rooted have you guys seen any spectacular advancements as we have seen in the OG SGS2? I am NOT in here trolling but just wanted to get all your inputs as well. Are you still glad you went with the skyrocket? Are you glad you didn't just take it back and get a OG SGS2? I know with lte you guys get kick ass download speeds, and in my OG I get 8Mb download and haven't had any issues streaming anything, downloading anything, or visiting any web pages. So is it worth it in your eyes for me to get the skyrocket for the wife? PLEASE only real answers, I am not here for flaming wars or "my device is better because" replies, I am not trying to stir up the emotions I have seen between the two in the past. So again please just your honest and as possible unbiased opinions. Thanks
PS.I posted this here because I run CM7 on my OG SGS2. Not sure if I could give it up though touchwiz on our (both) att SGS's gets the job done. Plus with testing out alpha builds of ICS we are in for a WHOLE change of goodness as long as the ASOP build looks and feels. Unless samsung or att don't ruin it that is.

I would certainly love to see CM7 support for this device. i think it would be tremendous oversight for it to get swept under the table and miss out on CM7.1 + CM9.
I do not see it happening .. i believe it will show up sooner or later.
Patiently holding out on purchasing "ics device." just to "have an ics ROM."
people the phone came out a month ago! i was on the SGSII forum, and we didn't have CM support immediately, it took time patience and DONTATIONS! if no one is donating, please quit crying!! You can always return the device. It is not a good look for those of in the community (irc.irondust.net; #skyrocket) that are either attempting to be a part of the solution. Da_G is looking into a port now. Furthermore, Samsung was sent an email re the release of the source code.
We will see.

We have to DEMONSTRATE DEMAND. Nothing in life is given, or assumed. At least not in the business world folks!
Instead of a HUGE thread on how to run a TMO ROM on our devices, we could request support instead on the Cyanogenmod thread for OUR device? Just a thought... not a flame
Any Dev will tell you the facts.. if he knows this device, he knows there are more than enough similarities BTW sgh-i727 and tmo sgs II for cyanogenmod to run a simple port. You guys must've not read up much .. this would be cake for those fellas.
If you want it, tell them politely and we will see it!

The Skyrocket will be worth it in the long run, I know we might not have much dev support at the moment but eventually when ICS comes to this phone officially it will grow. I'm running this phone stock at the moment and I LOVE it no lag at all, and mostly I'm loving my 55mbps download speeds down here in Texas (;
Soon hopefully soon i miss me some miui!!

Guys this phone is awesome..it just came out 3 weeks ago.. it already has some nice mods for it .. give it a chance.. Its like a new model car that comes out.. it takes some time for the vendors to R&D .. make a jig.. testing.. etc... to get the performance parts out.. .. I forsee great things with this phone in the very near future..
Have patience!
As the title says - is it a leap forward or backwords?
Especially I would like to ask you owners if there are enough ROMs and Kernels and development for this phone.
The only way to know if to buy a phone nowadays is to ask if it has a good community of DEV in XDA
I love MIUI - so I want to also know if MIUI is supported
THANK YOU ALL
I think it's a step forward and we have 3 miu roms and I think there is an icecream sandwich miui build. Not sure.
Don't forget to tell us what ur decision is.

Definitely a leap forward!
Development on our beloved G2x has come to a snail pace, but we've got weekly updated MIUI builds along with CM7, so what else could you need?
Definetly a leap forward, G2x ****s all over that other phone, only reason development has slowed down is cuz all the best roms have already been made available with what is to work with atm.

I wouldn't say the G2x sh*ts all over the Vibrant, but its definitely an upgrade.
Ok so I just got my G2x two hours ago. And WOW !!! The performance (and I am talking about daily usual stuff - browsing, email, scrolling, multi-tasking) is absolutely amazing!
Mind you - all stock, and it's super-fast! I love it.
It came with a screen protector and I was kind of disappointed from the screen, but when I took off that shi#y screen protector, the screen POPPED to life! So that's something to remember as well - some SP are horrible!
I am just starting to learn it now, and going over the forums.
If I may add a question here: does the MIUI we have for the G2x takes full advantage of this hardware? In other words, I would hate to sacrifice the speed, the performance of this device. Or is this not a concern?
Thanks all !!!!

Well, gingerbread in general is not optimized for dual core processors. Regardless, you'll still have a wonderful MIUI experience. I'd suggest you head on over to rootzwiki to get @Whitehawkx's MIUI builds, more up to date and I just trust his work more
Hi all.
I've just jumped ship from my nexus s which died on me =(
I decided to get away from stock android and pick up a Sensation XE. It's a real smooth phone which looks amazing. Cant wait to see what happens on the development side and hopefully it aint as dead as the Nexus S.

We are all hoping that its not dead but honestly, dont hold your hopes up! Seems to be getting quieter.Alot of the devs seem to be going to other devices
Good choice! There's plenty of action & cool roms by the chefs in the Development section!! Happy Flashing!!!
Hmm, even though many devs are switching to phones like the Galaxy Nexus etc, you'll manage to have a good time flashing. Just wait till we get ICS, you'll be happier then
The nexus S development had CM and a few asop. But that was it. I was quite disapointed being it was a developer phone. We got sence 2.1 but it changed people IMEI.
I'm still running stock ATM and I'm really enjoying it. I'm not that bothered with ICS. I had a play around with it and it was good. But I'm looking forward to see what HTC can do with it.
The power off this phone amazing compaired to the nexus S heck it kicks the hell out off my acer a500 . I can see myself happy with this phone for a while.

Hello there! Hope you enjoy your Sensation and our forum
After a life spent in the modding and after finding out (even with this wonderful forum) every flaw and every advantage of this lousy device but at the same terrific time is right time for goodbyes. I'll never forget the first Carbon Rom with the majestic KitKat then move from AOSP and CyanogenMod. The immense joy in seeing turn on this Android device 5.1.1 and then the emotion to see with my own eyes (albeit in beta) Marshamallow on the same display. Needless to say, I grew up with this device: has grown the experience and the ability to understand what to ask and what not to ask this smartphone. This device has made me realize that with good will, nothing is impossible. And maybe one day I will find the same page concerning this waiting for a nice nougat! Needless to say that mine is not a choice dictated by boredom but a necessity. In the last moments of his life Janice demonstrated how a little carelessness can condemn me years and years of hard work and sweat (for whom I had not realized is dropped from the LCD of the ground):crying:. Never stop to thank one by one every single member of Xda able to give me a hand or an update: @hastalafiesta, @PolishVodka, @Epirex, @frapeti (Team canjica), @Alberto97 and many others who have contributed their commitment to keep alive, young and strong S Advance. Of course I'm available for any problems that might have already passed when my Janice was still alive. Thank you all ... and good modding! Oh and please hold your loved smartphone firmly in hand.
I apologize to the moderators if this thread I broke some rules, but I hope I will be able to understand my state of mind at this time.:highfive:

OH man . what a loss /. anyhow every good part in life comes to end someday to start a new one.
Thanks for the support @DaksAnkit. But I can not stop. You would have some smartphone advise me on the 200 €? I think the Meizu m3note ... me recommended or have better suggestions? Thanks again to everyone!
sry,for ur loss buddy,in my opinion redmi note 3 (snapdragon version) would be a nice upgrade, save for the amoled screen(it has ips display).it has the sd650 chipset, which is quite snappy according to reviews quite competive at 250$ for 3gb ram version..most importantly it has xda support..im considering getting one myself, as soon as i land some cash
thank you very much @wingryder for helping! Now I just have to decide if the Meizu M3note or Xiaomi redmi Notes 3. In which of the two devices, there will probably be a greater support of the Xda community? Also this would be really important ...
if u ask me go for redmi note 3,it has cortex a72(even superior to a57 found in prev gen. flagship) performance cpu cores as opposed to a53 in meizu..added to that qualcomm is more devloper friendly than mediatek as far as i know.best of all there is already forum available on our xda for sd650 variant complete with rooting procedure and quite a handful of nearly stable roms.even the power cores are clocked higher leading to better performance as seen in benchmarks.also the gaming performance should be better with superior gpu(adreno 510)...as a plus u get ir blaster,fm in addition
update: got mi max few days back, which has the same chipset as redmi note 3,im very pleased with the performace.virtually no lag at all great feat considering the price.i would say go for it if anyone is still wondering
TATA BYE BYE .. S ADVANCE my first phone with the help of which i learned ABC of ROOTING >. :highfive::highfive:
Ok i guess its about time to change the device although i have my s advance intact and full working condition thanks to the janice team and all the other LEGEN.... wait for it.. wait for it ...... DARY DEVELOPERS . But due to the hardware limitations i had to change the device ( i will keep checking for new developments though) .
I had bought SAMSUNG GALAXY A5 last month :good: and well i won`t be rooting it anytime soon i had to loose it to my cousin for few months :silly: let us just say i wan`t happy with the device , :fingers-crossed: now i have bought VIVO V3 MAX for use. and well its an amazing device.
IN THE END I WILL TAKE YOUR LEAVE ..
GOODBYE PEOPLE

oh man , even my s advance has been acting weird i doubt its battery problem , it shuts down aneven at 80% battery and won`t turn on unless i pull out and re-insert the battery in . But well i have already bought a new one .. VIVO V3 MAX , and its fukin A , one of the wise decision i made . it has its own launcher FUNTOUCH and its pretty smooth i`ll say i don`t know about LeEco , but well samsung has always been there go out for a different brand but a reliable one. GOOD LUCK with your dilemma .
When i had doubts about phone i usually visit - SMARTPRIX-DOT-COM .. its neat .
@DaksAnkit Thanks for your advice, dude.I recently planned to buy a J1 (2016) bcuz of its RAM 1gb and 8gb rom..I don't play games so much and I guess it's a nice decision.I also has alternative idea with buy a Vivo Y15..even though JellyBean but it's upgradeable to Kitkat which is nice..wish me luck haha

Samsung j1 seems good , congrats on new phone , and vivo company has got some new phones nice of you to buy one , and well even my v3 max is operating on LP, based Funtouch OS from vivo but due to its software updates and all i don`t miss using a MM based ROM i think i like the cozy rom. GOOD LUCK
