[Q] Problems with Installing Razorclaw - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have Transforner B80, 8.6.5.19. I have now tried to install Razorclaw about 20 times. I copied the APK to the external SD and try to run it but every time I get 'Out of Space' error message. I am also getting the same problem when I try to install Adobe Flash Player. Also I get the same error when trying to update apps that are already installed but I can install other apps from the Market. I have over 11GB of internal storage free. Does anyone have a suggestion ?. You can email me [email protected].
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Hey, thanks so much. I think I am already on the latest version v1.0.1. At first I thought the file may be corrupt or something so I downloaded it again but still no joy, same error 'out of space'. I have tried installing from both external and intermal memory. As for Adobe Flash, I am lost but when the Market update was refused, again 'out of space' error I uninstalled the older version thinking that was the problem but no, now I am stuck with no flash at all.
Help anyone ??.
Cheers.

Hmmm no problem here with 3 diferent Asus B70 B80 and B90
Try updating your android first with asus get it to 8.6.6.19... That might be the problem... i had it too with the B90 has to be last OTA update.

Thanks buddy.
How do I get the 8.6.6.19 update ?. My machine is telling me I have the latest update at HTK75.WW_epad-8.6.5.19-2011107 ?. And I thought the 8.6.6.19 update was only for the 'G' model. Mine is not a 'g', it is WiFi only, no 3G. I am in Indonesia.
Again guys, help is really appreciated. I will donate to charity or whatever for some good help on this.

hmmm last option...
Have you tried to hard reset your machine?
The only thing i can think about is hard reset it and maybe ur not getting the right apk and try putting it in internal SD not external that should work.
Here is link to the correct apk --> http://androidroot.mobi/download/Razorclaw_1.0.1.apk
I cant think of anything else sorry if i cant help you in anything.. pls let me know if u need some kind of dump of system... i can send it.

Out of Space Problems
Thanks again. I am away from home right now on business and I do not have the Asus with me, I will get back late Saturday and try it ASAP after that and let you know. BTW, I see you are in Ibiza. I lived in Majorca for 13 years, wonderful place. Best time of my life.

Please help. My Transformer Wi-Fi says its rooted when i click razorclaw app but superuser force closes all the time and wont give root access to any apps. Is there something i can do?
I have Android 3.2.1 Asus version 8.6.5.19. I did have root access for titanium backup when I first rooted with the app but after a few minutes it stopped working.

Try updating SU app to the latest.

the su app is up to date to the latest version on the market, I also tried using the su app fixer but it could not get root access.

[Q] System firmware update problem.

Hi Guys,
Running the latest stock firmware here, but when I click on the system firmware update option, check update is greyed out and I'm told "There is a system firmware update for your device. Please check notifications."
Well there is no notification and I am running the latest firmware..... Is this a bug? Anyone else have this?
Ta
Paul
Hmm I assume by the lack of replies it's just me. I've tried plugging into my dock to see if that was the issue, but alas the same problem persists.
The notification is a little triangle in the status bar. It's not the most obvious icon.
Lastly, if you can download the update, you can rename it to update.zip and maybe flash it through recovery.

That's the file responsible for firmware update. If u are rooted, u can use titanium backup to freeze the file to stop the system from checking for and notifying of updates

Ta mate, I understand now.
Thanks for this --- had to Google to find this thread because a lot of people don't seem to mention it, so it must be a problem that isn't very widely spread.
I was wondering why I hadn't gotten an update since September! Finally, abnormal battery drain solved! Wooo
Clearing the data for the DMClient when the system says an update is available but has no actual notification to hit, should be added to the troubleshooting thread as a fix.
Many thanks for this tip !!!

Are you using any custom rom?..
connect the tablet to the computer and see how much free space the computer see..
try to download an app from the web and install by file manager hd or another similar app..
No custom rom.
I have the stock rom, but I dont want to.
I wiped the user data so now the market works, but I cant use root...
Superuser wont install binary...
The TF wont stay in APX mode either...
Any ideas?
No way to reinstall root user? Please help!
Any error messages?
The only error I get at the moment is when I try to update the SuperUser binary. On check it says Binary=legacy.
It says: Update failed. Try again? (in Swedish ).
The recovery wont even install. Plz, a little help is wanted...
Anything?

Use Su Update fixer apk for helping to fix problem with SU apk.
And if you've got barcode scanner apk (or another) use it for update SU
Well thanks, but did not help. The updater says "Fix failed. Try downloading and flash an update.zip...".
Problem is then, I have no Idea how to do that, besides, I cant use a single app in root, it doesn't find "root"...
Root checker basic doesnt. The only app that finds it is razorclaw... Im a bit confused...
More ideas?
This is the last version SU 3.0.6 for HC - Try it.

There's instructions on how to get su binary working manually.
If you do this it should work...
First do a hard reset on the TF.
There is to ways 1 pressing Vol - and Start button
Or Setting - Privacy - restore data
And then is so easy you just follow this thread and do what they say....

If you dont want a custom room back up your TF and then reaload it. The market problem will disapear...
Several problems.
1. Wiping data and installing razorclaw again does NOT help. The binary problem still remains.
2. Nothing what so ever happens when pushing "Flash recovery" with the app RecoveryInstaller.apk.
3. No recovery app when Vol- and Power is pushed down. Only ASUS Wipe data and cold booting options.
How do I flash the binary manually?
Please, Im sick of this unrooted TF

When installing razorclaw, it still says legacy binary and root is not functioning...?
It seems my TF is NOT rooted even if razorclaw thinks so. Cant get out of here...

Did u update like i told you? first update your TF to latest Asus update... Until you dont update you will get errors!!!!
Well, I tried to do as you said. But it didnt help. What is the latest update? I have 8.6.5.19, is there a later one?
Thanks.

[Q] How to Install Downloaded Update

A week ago I was notified that there is an update for the HOX firmware (I think version 1.85). I downloaded the package (~65MB). When the package finished downloading it did not install.
How do I install the downloaded file? I guess I have to do it manually somehow.
I tried to unzip the compressed file I found using Astro and restarting the device, but nothing happened.
Any tips?
Thanks
Same thing here. Even tried going into recovery and tell it to install the update...just reboots, no install. I called tech support and they told me to download the Zune software to manually install it via PC/USB?? I don't have one handy si haven't tried that yet but sounds crazy to me.
delete zip. problem solved.
read through the first couple of pages you'll find all you need to know.
fuhgetabout the stupid ota from da man.
root ! UNlOck ! DESTROY!
use the ruu just delete that stipd zip
go to your app drawer and click on every single anything that says att.
hit "disable". you wont be able to do the att2go or something.
lol.
no more ota.
I would first and foremost root your phone.
review the first few pages you will find all you need to know about "the update"...
hope that helps
why?
why do i need to root my phone in order to install an official software?
Did you root ur device before the update

A better question would be "Why are you on xda if you don't want to root your phone?"
Not trying to be a **** but this is a developers forum. If you are looking for basic android support, there are other forums better suited to your needs. That said, I highly recommend you root and ROM and all that good stuff. Best way to get the most out of your HOX.
i can accept that answer
Once the file downloaded did you accidentally hit postpone? Have you tried deleting it and checking for updates again?
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
yes I did.
it seems that the "check for update" button in the settings/at&t software update is stuck and doesn't respond.
Move your clock ahead 2 days, reboot and try again.
thanks alot!
do you know what this update fixes by any chance?

You don't need to re-install stock. You probably don't have the binary installed properly and that's why it's giving you trouble.
Simply flash either SuperSU and SuperUser and that should be fine.
You can get either one from here:

I wouldn't know, it would be better for you to ask in the Strawberry thread.
A lot of problems can be fixed simply by reflashing either the rom or the kernel. You could try reflashing Strawberry without wiping anything and also after that fixing permissions. Good luck.

Firmware Upgrade?

Hello, I am just wondering if any of you guys received a firmware upgrade recently.
I upgraded to this firmware which I believe was built early this month and it seems like it can't be rooted and my Google play keeps on crashing.
I did some searches and there seems to be no results regarding tf700 and this build. Anyone?

Looks like they are doing a new release for the TF700 which is not unexpected seeing as they just did one for the TF300 and ME301 as well. The same problem exists on those two devices. Asus have closed the root loophole motochopper has been using. As of now there is no known root method other than unlocking.
What waste of their time...instead of fixing things like the lag, on screen keyboard output and browser compatability they get all paranoid about someone fixing it for them...

So, does anyone have a changelog for this or know if it's possible to keep root with Voodoo OTA and this update?
On the other hand, I may be sending my tablet to ASUS for repairs. If they update to this firmware, does factory reset revert to an older version I can root without unlocking?
Thanks!

I have sent mine in for digitizer repairs...so I'm sitting here worried about the same thing...I hope they don't flash my stuff..as of this moment, I don't think there is a way back.
Motorola did this to me with a Photon 4G phone right before they said they wouldn't be updating the OS beyond 2.3 they OTA'd my phone so I can't put a ROM on it. Guess what, no mo moto for this dude and now there won't be any more Asus either, pretty soon I won't be buying anything but I'll have a lot of money!

And I was soooo happy to see that I had gotten and OTA and my build was now 10.6.1.14.10, up from 10.6.1.14.8. Ah well.. just have to wait for another motochopper. Anyway, thanks again. :highfive:

Bad update
Hi to all,
I´ve just update my TF700T to the latest firmware JOP40D.US_epad-10.6.1.14.10-20130801 but all goes wrong.
First, every app I´ve installed has been stopped, no one works. Every time that i want to launch an app, appears the message "sorry, the XXXX app has stopped...", the same with a lot of processes: "sorry, the process XXXX has stopped"
Second, I try to fixit rebooting the pad, but evrery time I reboot it, or shut off and then power on it, is the same: "android is updating/upgrading: optimizing nn applications of mm"
What should I do, i´m desperate my TF700T is unusable.
I´m root, not unlocked. I activate the survival mode in the SuperSu app to try to mantain the root.
Thank you very much in advanced.
update:
I made a cold reset, wipe data and nothing works. Now I can´t enter on the system, because when I need to configure my google account, i receive a message the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped.
I also try made a RCK, but i got the android with the red triangle with the exclamation inside.

I got this error when mine upgrade to 10.6.1.14.10, too...
I managed to fix this by following "Alternative Firmware update Method" in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28374043&postcount=1
You may download 10.6.1.14.8 from Asus web site, downgrade the device, root it if you want to, and then apply OTA upgrade again.
