Disable crt animations? - HTC Inspire 4G

Is there a way to disable the crt animation on a rom if it still appears with screen animations off
Sent from my Inspire 4G using xda premium

Yes but you would need to edit the framework.jar file.

Most roms that include the animation (I know CM7 does) have the option to turn it on and off. CM7 is Settings > CM Settings > Display. It all depends on the rom you use.

Not exactly true about most roms, pretty much any non based CM7 rom doesn't include a setting to turn it off...good news is that some of the roms now are including or have a mod for the RCtweaks sections (or at least Bindroid and ARHD have it that I know of) which is basically a scaled down version of CM options. Hopefully the OP is fortunate enough to be running, RC, Bindroid, ARHD or a CM7 based rom so he'll have the easy option of just turning it off

That only works on roms that can change render effect though right? I think the stock rom can't do that.
Tried it on the stock rom. force closes as soon as you try and change or click anything.

If you're running an official CM7 nightly (or a kanged version as well - I'm running the fitsnugly kanged CM7 nightly) go to:
Settings > CyanogenMod Settings > Interface > Render effect
It will have all the color calibration settings there. Enjoy!

Is the debloated version deodexed? Usually only framework changes and themes work on odexed roms.

Nope, it is a fully stock rom that has been simply debloated and rooted. It has not been deodexed. So no theming.

i flashed this over the debloated eg2 with your deodexed rom. works great until i try to punch in a wifi password. it will just start bootlooping afterwards and i have to reflash with ODIN to get it to boot normally.

It is actually an issue with the rom and not the mods. I am working on fixing the deodexed rom.
I have a different problem. I get the deodexed loaded with a wipe before. When I go to install the mods in CWR I get the error the sd card can not be mounted. Odined again and still the same problem.
go to mounts and storage, unmount sd, pull your card out, reinsert card, mount sdcard.
Redownloaded rom and still same problem. cant mount sd after installing deodexed. guess ill go backto ee4.
These mods will only work on the deodexed rom, right?
Mounting method didn't work as the error kept popping up while trying to unmount then mount again...if I can't mount from sd, I don't understand how I can install this mod...QQ

[REQ] Advanced Power Menu mod

Is there an advanced power menu mod for the stock ROM available anywhere?
haven't seen any yet. i'm assuming cm7 will offer a bit in that area, soon as its out
Lee's Rom and Coredroid have great power menu mods and they also have more additions to quick settings menu, try them.

I was thinking to stick with the stock ROM for the time being, that's all.
I'm looking for the same thing for stock Rom
You can't have it on stock rom as it requires a deodexed framework. All stock roms are odexed. If you don't know what I'm talking about google it.

Notification shade

Is there a way to get the power controls added to the notification shade if using the stock GB OTA? I've looked and can't seem to find an App or mod specifically for that.
I've found threads about changing the colors and mostly it's people modding the pngs for it via the system?.apk file but I'm not sure how one would add tat, or if we could, say, take the system.apk from a rom that has it already such as Weapon g2x and just drop that on a Stock rooted OTA?
Any idea's or methods I'm just not aware of?
there's an app called "StatusBar+" in the market that has the ability to add power control widget buttons or w/e in the notification bar on non rooted phones....if thats what you're meaning?
StatusBar+ isn't working for the G2X... Any other ideas??

if that app doesnt work, then the only other way is flashing a custom rom! I think u should just root the phone if u havent already, its nearly impossible to brick the thing unless ur completely unfamiliar with it, but even then, its damn hard! There's a ton of awesome roms with the notification widgets
Yeah my phone is rooted. I'm currently using EB 2.3.3 1.07 which I believe is one of the most stable roms... I just wish there was a way to add that feature (power control bar to the notification bar) to this rom without having to flash a different rom or theme...

Could I just take the Systemui.apk file from one of the Weapon2.5 themes and replace my current Systemui.apk file?
I'm thinking it won't work because I'm on EB 2.3.3 1.07, there may be some other files missing from this rom that I might need??

EB already has that....settings --> Cyanogenmod settings -->Interface --> Notification Power Widget
from my themeing experience of weapon and vibrant roms I think its a combination of frameres and systemui. I could be wrong but if it was me id ask a dev who has it in their ROM already it could greatly ease the method to achieve the desired effect.

Well I will take your advice... I see you are the maker of the Precision theme for Weapons... It looks pretty sweet..
Will you be making this theme for Eagle Blood 2.3.3 (v1.07+)? Or better yet does this theme work with EB already?
FYI... It was your theme that I was going to try and use the systemui.apk file...
I have no idea if it will work on eb or not. Im currently working on a few things, but might be able to port it soon.

I believe he's talking about EaglesBlood 2.3.3, not 2.3.5.
The notification power widgets on gingerbread roms are in the SystemUI.apk. The problem is, unless you are really snuggly with linux, java, and the sdk, your chances of coding your own are weak.
However, if you have a rom available to you from the same android and phone versions, you have a good shot at getting it to work, as with weapons systemui on eb 2.3.3.

I have 1/3 lol. Well it's sad that this is the case. I know it is pretty hard to write apps but it seems some things should just be a given considering, Like why no app for this or even a built in option at this point? Oh Well, I'll figure something out for sure.. anyone wanna send me the systemui.apk from Weapon so I don't have to reinstall it again?

[Q] Screen off TV animation

I am currently looking for a mod that changes the animation when you turn off the screen, specifically the TV's style (like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Lv1p4TvRw4).

And P.S this should be in the Q&A section not themes and apps
Try AnimMod

One more question: If I was on aosp ROM, where could I find the mod? (flashable preferred). I tried those apps before but I like it to have it activated with power button.
I'm planning on flashing some senseless rom, sense UI doesnt suit me.
