Virtuous doesn't have it since its sense based but most aokp/cm9 rom have this ...

ive been using ViperS 1.1.0 for about a month in my Sensation 4G.
the ROM is OK, the battery life is OK, the performance is OK
credit to Venom team for developing this awesome ROM.
the animation isnt included in the ROM though.
but you will get 'Sweep2Wake' a feature from Bricked kernel which coming with this ROM.

It's available only on AOSP ROMs. HTC modified their frameworks that break the animation on ics based ROMs. It's not possible to get it running.

I second this recommendation. You can set it to activate with a lobg press of the search key to save your buttons and put tge phone to sleep.
And its got a variety of animations to choose from, including crt off.

It's under 'Display' in the Settings app.
The last sense rom to have crt animations was gingerbread, no one has got it to work since then

i am not rooted so this one worked for me..
its just an app..
"screen off and lock"
get it in market militia or search the full version in google to get it free..
there is an old tv style effects there like the one you're describing

OK. I definitely understand keeping it stock. Believe me I appreciate it just as much. I'll test your ROM today and see what's up. I'll also test the locations pack and see if it causes any conflict. Its the least I can do to help bro. I like the features being put into it....ALOT lol. If locations work with no issues I'll PM you the zip and let you decide whether you want to implement it into the next update or leave it as an add on.

Unity V3 has worked great for me running Virtuous build. V4 should be better. I know it differs ROM to ROM but I suspect it'll do fine. Hows it running on your end so far?

Hey, Thanks for your enthusiasm so far! So far from what I see the rom runs better the longer I leave it on (Which is common for Android roms) so I guess it is a good choice for a main kernel! 25 more minutes for anyone who is waiting.

This is ONLY for the official stock 2.3.4 LG ROM that introduced the new March 2012 baseband!!
I repeat, DO NOT FLASH ON ANYTHING ELSE.
Ok so since my real first porting of a theme (which was a little of a disaster in my opinion...) I've gotten a lot better/smarter.
This port is probably going to be the final. There's honestly nothing wrong with it so far that I can tell.
I might change the drop down menu background to something else maybe. For some reason, even if you use a transparent image... it still isn't transparent for me.
I just kind of grabbed some random image for the background and used it... it was supposed to repeat itself and just kind of scaled... and doesn't look too bad in my opinion.
How to install:
Download the attachment to SD card
Boot into CWM
(Optional) Create a backup in case of boot loop
Flash the zip
Reboot device
There is no need to wipe cache or dalvik or any of that nonsense. I NEVER do, but you can if you're paranoid enough.
Known Issues:
None.
Notes:
I disabled the overscroll glow. I just personally do not like it and it tends to make the device lag when it appears.
I didn't do any .xml changes so no colors should be ugly on certain other windows/frames.
The font in my screenshots will NOT be applied to your phone; that is the font I use and it is not included in the theme.
SOLUTION IF YOUR PHONE BOOT LOOPS
If your phone bootloops it means you dirty flashed 2.3.4 onto your device which means you were on 2.3.3, then you upgraded to 2.3.4 via LG Update tool, and then tried to flash this theme.
So what you have to do (and SHOULD do anyway) is download the rooted 2.3.4 stock ROM (thanks to kwes) and do a fresh install of it (wipe data/factory reset and format /system) then this theme will work 100%.

I don't know what could have gone wrong. Nothing is wrong with my .zip. No one else is having problems nor getting any bootloops.
It's possible you got a bad download of the file. Try re-downloading it again and flashing.

OP has been updated with 2 different batteries: the circular battery by request, and the CM7 battery with the number and little bar on the right side of it.

Thank you and yeah I know what you mean.
I've stated before that I'm not a developer, nor am I a themer; I just simply port over stuff.
I would love to have the screen off animation, and quick toggles as seen in weapon and bionix, but I don't even know the beginning stuff. I'd have to do a lot, lot of reading and experimenting... which I may do one day but work keeps me pretty busy.
By the time I learn anything worthwhile I'm sure a developer would have already made a custom ROM out of this and did all that stuff .
Believe me, I want all that neat stuff too.
Yeeeeah, I've stopped using ics roms because of little things like that, I love when the rom works smooth and fast, it would be awesome if any developer did the crt on and off animation work here, I'm missing the toggles too

HTC broke the animation for all ICS ROMs. The fiddled about with/removed key files for it to work properly. It'll never work on a sense ROM. Only AOSP ROMs. There's a "dirty crt" mod about, but it leaves artifacts on your screen. It is advised to NOT flash it as it messes with your gpu drivers, potentially breaking them and your phone.

I can't tell you which is the best. It's all down to personal preference. I've never used an AOSP ROM before.
I also can't tell you when jelly bean will be up and working for the sensation. It's down to the devs. It'll be ready when its ready.

Hi, I'm an HTC Vivid user, and have been trying to work on a CRT-On/OFF mod for the Vivid and am getting no where fast. I've heard people say they think they have heard similar to what you state above, but you seem to be the most concrete about it.
Do you know WHAT files were tinkered with or removed? Or why it wouldn't be possible to move those missing files over from either GB or AOSP ICS?
Also, can you point to this "dirty mod" you speak of? So far, I haven't seen ANYTHING work on a sense rom. I'd be grateful for any leg up on this issue.

Hello Friends and welcome to this very unique ROM thread.

Lewa OS + CM9 isnt what some think it is.. Its a CM9 rom contraption with Lewa elements a real Mash up so to say! .
Some most likely know that Lewa OS isnt updated to ICS so I wanted to "mash" lewa in to CM9!
Also I wanted to try and play with ICS after toying with GB for so long
And I will keep adding moar lewa till im actually satisfied with it
Now for the issues:
- Same OL' ICS/CM9 Issues
- Within the pullup launcher drawer, when you go thru the apps the screen flickers for a fraction of a second. It happens every so often, but a way to fix it is installing Moar apps!
- when trying to install wallpapers from pressing the menu button, it will say *failed* so a workaround is to go to settings and tap System and change wallpaper from there
- The theme icon on the home screen doesnt work because its for Lewa and all the themes are made for GB, but cm9 themes should work
- The launcher drawer does not alphabetize the apps so it may throw people off a bit lol

i can try i havent tried miui yet.
ALSO: in network settings DO NOT mess with 4G settings. it could reboot your phone and will FC.

a few minutes? been 20 minutes and it says i have no data connection
4g settings only fcd on me nothing more

any way to get my data back?
got it after two restarts and selecting network operators-select automatically 3x it turned on
In network settings try searching for network. I played with it a few times and it kicked in but status bar showed it greyed out
