Can I use polish for the screen? - Nexus S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I want to remove little scratches on the screen and I've seen an special polish for touchscreen.
But I have a friend that have a polish for regular screens. It could be dangerous for the screen? Why is special the touchscreen polish?
Enviado desde mi Nexus S usando Tapatalk

i wouldnt take the risk. Seems like you get different information on the web. Some users are even complaining about blind spots on their touchscreen after polishing.

Did he say polish or Polish

+1 I thought the same thing

ouh xD now my brain gets it, too

I've also used a polish ... (not a human being and not one specific for touch screens but the one for the cars) ... It worked quite well... but don't exagerate and be careful.

Better u tried on glass.. if it goes well then u can tried on yours..

Don't do it unless you want to remove/wear away the oleophobic coating.

Custom Skins, pics now up!

Needed to start my own thread so I can update it and what not
These are controltac, I use them to wrap vehicles at work it is high grade stuff. The skins wrap the phone to give it clean lines and prevent something catching it, see pics. Unlike other skins out there these actually fit the way controltac is supposed to and they have cutouts for the front camera and sensors. I am a graphic artist and I work with the stuff all the time.
Buy from me I own the phone and know it fits since I use it too.
A controltac skin will help protect your phone without adding bulk and you can give it your own personal touch.
I can design and put anything you want on them, just throw me some images or an idea and I will make it happen.

Yeah, thanks for editing my original design. You made it look a lot better. If you stuck with my design it would look so boring. But then again I wouldn't have your design to compare it to. So thanks.
I'm wondering what the other skins look like applied. Post some pics, guys.
Here are some pics people have sent me
can u remove the skin and then put them on again or its just for one time?

I could, but I would need the phone to test it out on. When I build a template I use a skin from another company to start with and none of them fit right they aren't actual wraps like mine they are basically glorified stickers so I wouldn't wanna just build one off of one without testing first because I don't like putting out garbage lol.
I was thinking that I could open a contract, skin the phone, and then bring it back within the 30 day period but it's gonna be a few weeks before I can test that out

Here's a recent one I did
Thats my phone! Thanks again Mr Andrews!

Mobile phobia ( need Help )

well i am having a mobile phobia thats why i am keep changing my mobile phone like after a week the phobia i am having is .. when there is a minor or even unoticable scratch fade aur even a dot on the mobile i get frustrated and then i want to buy a new phone ... i am tired of these things but my phobia wont let me stop .. what do i do ??
This is an expensive phobia...
So even if you've got a case or screen protector on there?
You're using one of the most technologically advanced device ever created in the 200,000 years of human existence. And you're bothered by a scratch or a dot?
Get over yourself.
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA
I get pissed because of a little scratch or dot too, justbdont have enough money to keep buying new ones.

Look at yourself in the mirror. See the imperfections? You live with them so do the same with your G2X.
If money is not a problem for you, then enjoy the phobia. I am the same way when comes to car. So I feel your pain man.
G2x 2.3.4 root March baseband
I wouldn't say phobia... this is more along the lines of OCD.
You'd just have to force yourself to deal with minor imperfections. No one can help, it's all up to you to force yourself to ignore the faults and try to force rational thinking as to why you want to keep the phone...

I remember someone saying that was point. That they wanted to represent a more mature version of Android and break away from any ties of being associated with Google's Mascot.
Granted, the old Andy will be missed and he was perfect, but they needed to differentiate themselves

That demented scribble they're calling a mascot is hideous.
The boot animation itself was pretty good.

Oddly. ...I don't really care.
Just my opinion, no offence intended.
they had to remove andy for legal issues.
I think this CID thing looks a bit evil, llike the removed soul of a evil cat.
Anyways, if anyone has anything better, submit it to them.
There's nothing stopping you from using the old andy.
@Cyanogen just doesnt want to distribute it in their builds for legal issues.
i like it as it was before
I prefer Cid with his eyes completely open.
I don't care for the mischievous "angry" eyes, but overall I do enjoy him and the new boot animation.
..
..
I will be happy when I will have a black screen boot animation with just a little progression bar...
....
This stuff is orrible

Was cheap, and not so good..
Don't forget to thanks for the review
I made a lil review about how to apply and how the cheap ones look. Also it block the sensors.
I'll make a review of the atFolix ones that are arriving soon, those don't ''glitter'' .. i hope..

BTW, I've tested the 3M screen protector, and it did not cover the whole front bezel... very disappointed.
I know I applied it wrong, I know it was meant to be dry application but I prefer to do it like this cause I can still move it.. I'm more used to it like this...

To move a dry screen protector, apply it using two 'handles' made of tape. Lift it and move it to your heart's content. Or use the hinge method.
I'm not saying the protector you got is any good, we might never know. But your review is kind of pointless. It's like painting a car with a paint roller because you're used to painting ceilings, then saying the paint sucks because your car looks like **** now.

But it really doesn't point out why you shouldn't buy it. We don't even know that it's crappy since your conclusion is based on improper use.

'You're doing it wrong' isn't very harsh. OP doesn't help the situation when he says 'I know I'm doing it wrong, that's why this thing sucks.' Definitely the wrong foot all around.

It was not because I applied it wrong that it sucks right? What's the matter with me applying it in a other way? It didn't **** up the screen protector nor made it worse -.-
