Login to the web and somewhere in your account settings you should be able to access shopper and then set whatever you can in it as far as payment methods. It's been a long time since I messed with it, but I think they sent an email saying they had or were going to incorporate shopper and wallet together.

They explicitly said that the Google prepaid "card" would be limited to NFC purchases only, and not enabled for use via any other route.
With the latest version of Wallet they announced that Citi prepaid Mastercards could now be used online, but they did not say there has been any change with the Google "card".
If you find that you are able to use the Google $10 credit in any other way, that would be great, but I think the whole point was to limit it to NFC use from the outset.

Google Wallet will only be on Sprint Nexus at Launch?

This totally defeats the notion that buying a Nexus will get you all the latest and greatest features first. I have a T-Mobile Nexus S and I wouldn't be surprised if it takes 5 months for it to get Google Wallet, despite the technology being exactly the same. Why does Google do this? I was so excited about using NFC too.
1. NFC is a drain on the battery, so I won't be using it anytime soon.
2. I'm not really sure why Sprint Nexus S gets it first. Why does Google do stuff like this? Both of the models are NFC enabled. There shouldn't be any reason to limit it like that. I guess it's their MO.
Sprint is a official partner. MasterCard and citi are other partners. That's why. If Google wallet gains traction you'll see it elsewhere.

The GSM version of the Samsung Nexus S may receive access to the just-announced Google Wallet service, but Google will work with T-Mobile to bring the service to market for that phone, according to Google VP of Payments Osama Bedier. Mr. Bedier ruled out circumventing carriers like T-Mobile in bringing Google Wallet - and compatible phones - to market. The GSM Nexus S has the same NFC chip required for Google Wallet as the Nexus S 4G that the service is being trialled with today. Google expressed optimism that more carriers would support Google Wallet soon, and that many more phones would include the necessary NFC chip going forward.

Voice it to T-Mo if you want it to get done. It seems like Google does, they need to get T-Mobile on board though.
Why does a Telecom have tobe. Involved

T-Mobile is a member of ISIS, along with AT&T and Verizon, which is a competing mobile payment platform to Google Wallet. I would not be surprised if Google Wallet works on ALL Nexus S phones, they may just not be able to announce it on T-Mobile, either because of T-Mobile's involvement with ISIS, or because Sprint is a partner in Google Wallet. Either way, sounds more like marketing to me than a technology limit.
couldnt someone just get the app and share it with the rest of us?
im sure the tmo-Isis partnership has something to do with it. but i also bet that all nexus phones will get it eventually, but since sprint/google wallet is official, theyre not gonna announce anything else.
Odd that Google checkout was not an option to use for paying. My debt and credit card are visa

That's what the prepaid Google card is for. I suspect it will be reloadable with that Visa you have...

The interface demo'd today showed all the interface for inputting all of your CC info (Number, expiry, Name, Billing Address).
Im not really sure what role the carrier plays in the actual transmission of the data. Also, the GSM version of Nexus S is not T-Mobile branded unlike the Sprint Nexus S.

No it's not. It made a 1% difference in my battery life after leaving my Nexus S running with full brightness, screen on and an app I wrote with a full wake lock for a few hours. 1% in 4 hours, that's not battery drain.

I was losing at least 7-8% a day with it on. I already hate the battery life on Android devices in general, so I turned it off to get as much as I can.

The carrier doesn't play any role. In fact, Google Wallet payments work without any data connection at all.
Does anyone have or use Google Wallet yet? Anyone know where to get the app, and how to register for it?
I've been lurking around the NS forums for a while and I'm surprised that no one is talking about this.
This function has tipped me over into buying an NS. I should be getting it in the mail this week (i9020a) and I can't wait until I can use this feature.

Good nfc news

Pressure is added on Google to give us a way into google wallet as target, walmart and others setup thier own NFC solutions

This has been brought up time and time again. I realize retailers are getting on board and that will help but until att gets it together and gets the secure sim or whatever it is we will not having a working google wallet

Fear of competition is exactly what is needed to push AT&T & google into action.
Our conveinace doesn't have a slot in at&t's spreadsheets. Google can't really do a thing on this subject W/O AT&T agreeing and cooperating.

[Q] Google Wallet in Canada

Is there a way to get Google wallet in Canada?
I know Rogers is partnering with CIBC and Bell with RBC. But is there a app like Google wallet which does the same thing but in Canada??
There is no way to get google wallet in Canada at the moment (play store won't let it be downloaded out side if the US)
What would happen if next time you were in the States and you picked up a prepaid Visa gift card, could you then download the wallet app and activate the card for payment while still In the USA. And the bigger question would it still work once you get back to Canada
What about those who have dual citizenship? Can they get use of the Wallet app, say, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday?
Americans don't try to steal your universal healthcare, so don't steal their exclusive Wallet app j/k
Well i tried it on my GPE HTC one with android 4.4 at metro the other day. It did not work. I got a message telling me international transactions are not supported. The app however was easy to setup. I just added my US based google account and it let me download the wallet app off of the play store. I added my canadian CC with a us billing address.

NFC Payments ISIS or Google Wallet

I have Google Wallet all setup on my N5 with my American Express card. It works fine for all GW transactions except Tap and Pay (NFC). I get a message that the transaction has been declined by card issuer. When I swipe the card at the same terminal it goes through no problem.
I contacted American Express to find out why the charges are declined. Amex initially said they see no declined transactions on their end. After further investigation with Amex tech support I was told the Amex does not support GW Tap and Pay so the NFC transactions never even gets to them. He suggested I try ISIS Mobile Wallet which they fully support.
When I try to install ISIS from the Play store there are 3 options. ATT, Verizon and T-Mobile. I am on Straight Talk using an AT&T SIM so I tried that one. When try to install it's grayed out with "No eligible devices for app install". I also tried the other two options with the same result.
So I started looking for the ISIS apk to manually load the app and found post about needing a special SIM and carrier restrictions. Also saw that it does not work on rooted phones.
My questions are:
1. Has anyone been able to an Amex card to work with Google Wallet Tap and Pay (NFC)?
2. Is there any way to get ISIS loaded and working onto a stock rooted Nexus 5 using a Straight Talk plan?
Go buy urself visa gift cards with our amex card then use those gift cards on Google wallet. That's what I do...

You could still match them up to your phone. Google Wallet keeps track of everything just as it'd appear on your credit card statement. Your individual transactions would just appear on your phone, and not your paper statement. I only have my visa card on google wallet since that's my main card, but when I go to costco or buy gas, I use my american express card and swipe it instead of tapping.

I use my official Amex Corporate statement for expense reimbursement. Otherwise I need to keep individual receipts. I'd rather just swipe the card then go through all that.
Quick question, u are using Google wallet as a credit transaction right? It will not work as a debit. I did this at first till I actually read Google wallets instructions.
And can u use american express as payment through Google play store? If so then theoretically it'll work with wallet. Sorry u mentioned that u could.
On my visa card it shows Google Merchant not McDonald's. Doubt this will work in ur case for expenses reimbursement without individual receipts.

My Amex used to work with GW tap and pay, but I switched over to another primary card and it's probably been more than 6 months since I've used it. If I have the opportunity, I'll test it. Given their involvement with ISIS though, it wouldn't surprise me if GW was no longer supported.

my amex works fine on google wallet tap and pay. i used it at mcdonalds about a week ago.
ive had the same problem since the wallet 2.0 upgrade, it used to work fine with tap n pay until i upgraded to wallet 2.0....i tried upgrading OS to 4.3 still declined and then 4.4 kitkat and still declined, my visa card works fine, i can even make a play store purchase. Strange that i get declined when using tap n pay

[Q] soft card is being purchased by Google?

Anyone here of this? I've got tmobile note 3 and have yet to find a tap and pay option other than Softcard.
"We are pleased to let you know that Google has acquired technology from Softcard to power the next generation of mobile wallets.
What does that mean for you? As of 3/31 your Softcard app will no longer work. You can continue to use the Softcard app until 3/31. After that your Account will be closed.
To keep using a digital wallet app download Google Wallet now.
Sincerely,
The Softcard Team"
Google Wallet > all
well that sucks. i actually like it way more than google wallet. I was able to get my tax refund directly deposited into it.
