[Q] Galaxy Tab 7" not deleting files. Please Help - General Questions and Answers

I hope someone can help.
My Tab (GT1000 - UK) was fine running Android 2.3.3(not rooted) until a few days ago. I started getting "force closing" on the apps but not all of them.
When I rebooted and it was starting ,it immediately "force closed" only 2 apps.
I reloaded 2.3.3 no difference. I loaded 2.2 and it was even worse. Everything force closed.
I followed most of the software guides on upgrading and rooting but nothing seems to help. I used different file managing software and this would delete it, but after a reboot IT'S BACK!
To me it seems like the internal memory(16GB) is locked. I did all the mounting/unmounting and formatting possible...when i rebooted it was back on the internal memory.
I checked the Tab files on my PC and they are all read only files and those ones on the internal drive(which cannot be deleted) are always there and those are the apps that are "force closing".
I seriously tried all I can think of...TAB recovery mode formats/deleting cache and even special drive management software on my pc...it doesn't help. Because when I reboot it's back on the internal drive...even though it showed that it was clear after a pc format. After formatting using the Tab settings option it will refresh and be there again.
Hope this makes sense to some genius out there.
Thanks in advance

Any update
I am having the same issue, was your problem ever solved?

Yes. I sent it back to Samsung. They fixed it for free

[Q] Internal Storage Related Freezing?

I've had my TF101 since it first came out, and I've run plenty or ROMs over it and had a good ol' jolly time. Recently, when I had a movie on a USB stick and tried to move it to the external storage, the system would just sit there. ES File Explorer showed a status bar that never moved.
I tried a couple other file managers - no go.
Today I took it up and tried to move over a file via USB (it's running ICS) and the progress bar didn't move.
Okay, Recovery mode >> Factory reset / Wipe cache / Wipe Dalvik >> Boot into ICS.
Now it let me copy over files!
I installed Revolution, the latest version, onto it and used the Full Wipe which does an EXT4 format. So all is well until I start performing actions related to the internal storage.
As I was re-downloading apps, I decided to grab an offline map from Google. At the same time; all apps stopped downloading and the Google Maps download failed.
At this point, it will often tell me that the Google Play Store has stopped unexpectedly. It will also not let me resume or cancel any download. Any attempt to force stop an app or clear its cache or delete its data will simply not yield a response. I can still run around the OS and click things.
I tried this while a MicroSD was plugged in and while it wasn't. It happens when the dock is connected or disconnected. It happened on my old EOS nightly and on the current Revolution. This leads me to believe it's likely a formatting or hardware problem. Any thoughts?
Also, thank you so much for taking the time to read through this.
TL;DR? Internal storage craps out after mild use, tablet remains unfrozen.
Cheers,
Sacrosaint.
UPDATE:
I've been playing around with the device some more. After the 5 reboots or so that it took to install all my apps, I managed to save ~200MB of offline maps without an issue. Only when I then tried to install Google+ did I get an "Insufficient Storage" warning and a play store crash. Maybe this means something?
Reformat again using wipe data/factory reset 3 times. Then run superwipe.zip 12 times, to make Sure it works. Also make sure your CWM is a working version.
Make sure in storage that 'other' isn't taking up alot of space as well, logs can do this.
I have the same problem. I did try the multiple data wipes, followed by multiple SuperWipes (Full) and still no dice. It is not stable beyond 5 minutes of use. It crashes various programs and processes until it is in an unusable and unbootable state.
Help? Please?

This is an interesting reoccurring problem for some..
Early on we were getting some problems with this type of things and there was a fix via edited the superwipe script to allow a bit more in
one of the system partitions..will take me a little while to find the thread..might pay to have a look and see if this fixes it..
But it does bring up the question again and the need for a deep format that actually does a full wipe of everything..i was under the impression that that mike's superwipe did this..and Nvflash would do it too..i am meaning a one time run of these should do it..?
Therefore multi runs of these programs should not be needed..

[Q] Unable to install or update "root" apps

Hi,
I have had my phone now for a week, and am a complete noob to Android.
All my other phones were windows based, and I am used to changing phones firmware etc. I am OK with a lot of the terminology, only, not with Android based products.
Now for my problem:
When I try to install an app, I am getting the "insufficient storage available".
It appears (to me, anyway), that it's only when I try to install, or update an app, that required a rooted phone to install/run, (ie. busybox, root checker, titanium backup, etc.) OR an update to one of the apps that came as "standard" with the phone (ie. ROM based).
All other apps appear to install fine.
I have Googled the error and found loads of people with this problem, and some have had it fixed by the methods below. I have tried them, but I still have the problem (as do MANY others it seems).
Does anyone know of a sure-fire way of getting the functionality back ?
I have a couple of copies of LuckyPatcher.apk, but I can't run or install either of them.
I have tried loading the <whatever>.apk file on the phone, then running it, I just get the "out of memory" error.
I have tried to just copy the <whatever>.apk into \system\apps, but it wont copy - I just get a "copy failed" message.
I have checked in \data\app for .odex files - there are none.
I have manually been through the Manage Apps details and cleared out the caches.
I have re-booted MANY times.
I did have Titanium Backup, but I have uninstalled it for now, as the pro key wont install, nor will any of the other "pro" keys I have purchased.
I hope I have presented enough information to start someones grey matter to tick over some rational fault finding techniques.
Please. Can someone help me ?
Regards,
Paul

Hi,
I think your Internal Storage is empty.
You could move apps from Internal Storage to the internal storage.
Hope it helps

Do a backup and reinstall the rom
what is your android phone model..?
is depend on phone internal memory...
Hi,
I've fixed it now.
All the questions that have been asked are answered in my first post. I thought I would try and be helpful by including everything I could find about my phone and problem. I had scoured this (an other) forums, and read the questions people asked, as well as the answers they gave, hence the amount of information I gave originally.
Asking questions that have already been answered is of little use to me, and others in the same predicament, although I realise that it increases your post count.

Paul

please help!!! unfortunately, the process.android.media has stopped

unfortunately, the process.android.media has stopped.
im also rooted fine using a1 rooter zip in CWM
i get that error on bootup once i hit the homescreen, with ICS custom rom 4.04 on the lenova tablet ideapad A1-07
i cannot get USB connection to computer, it only displays the debugging mode?
maybe i have to MOUNT sd card or something during CWM?
also it won't detect my microSD card, only AFTER i take it back out and put it back in it will detect it
but not on initial startup/bootup
thanks if anyone can help me figure this out!
bump! anyone
how to fix "android.process.media has stopped"
After upgrading to ICS, this error message pops up 1-3 times over the first few minutes after each boot, and periodically afterwards.
After some research I found there is 1, possibly 2 apps/services responsible for this error. I disabled both of them and the error has not returned. I've noticed no impact to disabling these services, though they are easy to re-enable if side effects appear.
The services are "Media Storage" and "DRM Protected Content Storage".
In ICS, you can disable them (or any other app/service) by:
1. Go to System-Apps-All
2. Scroll to the app in the list, click "Disable"
If you have Titanium Backup and are rooted, you can use Titanium Backup to freeze them.
Then cold restart the tablet. The errors no longer appear. Again, if you try this and it breaks something, you can easily re-enable these services.
managed to fix that android.process,media. error but i still CANNOT get my computer and idealpad to connect via USB:crying:
Clear their data
Dont disable them...Try to clear the data of media storage and reboot ..
Try formatting your sd card using another phone.
I too had the same problem.. i used my sd from other phone it worked but not the one in my phone.so i tried formatting my sd card using other phone.
It worked for me.
Thanks very much!! Solved my problem!!
[I used Link2SD to freeze the two applications and WHAM! I'm back in bizzness! Thanks Thanks Thanks!
Plz help me fix unfortunately android media process has stop. It keeps pooping up repeatedly. I already reset my device but still. Doesn't work. Can't even disable media storage and DRM content storage on apps manager... And now I cannot open all my apps . also popping unfortunately (apps name) has stopped.. Plz help me..

[Resolved] Issues updating CM10.0 to 10.1 (T-Mobile GS3)

So I have had CM10 on my phone for probably 8 months now (almost since I got the phone) and have had no issues with the ROM whatsoever.
I got a notification about an updated version of CM10 today and went ahead and downloaded and installed it, but when I finished the update, I had no personal data left on the phone, could not set up accounts to recover the data, could not (and still can't) recover backups through ROM Manager, and cannot recover backups through CWM. I get an error message which I can't remember at the moment and leads to a bricked phone upon reboot until I do a fresh install of CM10.0.
I read after I started having the issues that I wasn't supposed to directly upgrade from the CM Updater with an S3, but it was already too late. Supposedly the issue is something along the lines of an emulated version of my phone's internal storage? If that makes sense. So whenever it's pulling a piece of information it's looking in the spot it should be in, but on a non-physically-existent SD card, essentially. That's what I gathered anyways.
I have a 32gb external SD Card that is also in use with my S3. I have tried moving my ROM Backups to there and recovering from the External SD Card, but the same error message occurred, although ROM Manager was at least able to find the backups after they were moved (I also had to change the setting and request that it prefer to look through an external SD Card).
So I have a usable ROM as far as the software itself, but I no longer can use any accounts or information that is stored with them or any of the same widgets (not a game-breaker) as I was able to previously. Is there a way to fix this? I've never just been completely stuck before >.<

Just to be clear, you're saying to try and flash CM10.0 and then do not update when prompted from the notification? The other part was clear enough lol.
Edit: Tried the above and did not fix the problem, but I didn't use fastboot specifically because I have a Samsung phone.
The error I'm getting is "unable to mount /system" when I try and restore a backup.
Bump. Still haven't figured this out.
Problem solved.
Re-flashed CM10.1; doing full data, cache, and dalvik wipes before and after the flash; and the problem was corrected.

Why do I get, 'Application Is Not Installed On Your Phone' when I try to open apps?

I have a Sprint Galaxy Note 5 on 6.0.1(not rooted). Recently I tried to open an app on my home screen and received the message,'Application Is Not Installed On Your Phone '. I didn't think anything of it and just reinstalled the app. I received this error before on a S4. The problem I had there was that my external SD card was corrupt. But my Note 5 doesn't have external SD card support and it keeps happening now with different apps. I've read that a factory reset will probably fix the issue.. But before I do that, I was hoping that someone might know of a solution for me? I've also cleared all app cache and data in all apps(including Play Store) and nothing seems to help.
?
Anyone have any ideas?
You probably took ota update and data partition isn't quite right. Save everything off of sd and do a factory reset in stock recovery so it can wipe everything fresh.
