Why dont you drown your Defy it should be water resistant up to one meter.
Motorola have to repair or replace your Defy when it breaks of water damage i would think.
But i think they will just replace some parts and not send you a completely new handset.

Boy your insane. Believe me they wont exchange ur phone for a new one. Instead they'll keep ur unit with them for a week, promising u that the problem will b resolved and then after a week they'll return u the same handset by repairing the defected part

Not to be rude or anything,
But what is the point of having a forum if each time someone finds an answer you delete it?
Instead of removing the question and just saying done, would be good to actually answer how you did it, since I dont think you are the only one who might wanna pull this off.
Maybe he thinks if Motorola reads this topic his defy's won't be repaired.
But you're right - he shouldn't delete it.
Haha what about they will change your board, but not the camera? XD

Dear community members, my Infuse is dead I don't know why. It was charging over night and I just want to check the time when I noticed it was unresponsive. I though "I'ts just a SOD" but when I pulled out the battery an pressed the power button nothing happened, three finger trick and nothing...black screen no any light whatsoever even when I connect to my PC it is not recognized. Any Ideas?
I have Dman's Zeus 6 whit Script V6 SuperCharger.
I live in El Salvador and here is no any technical support...PLEASE HELP!!!!
I think it's just passed out :'( and if you think so also, I want to know if any of you have an Infuse for sale. I really love this phone because its big screen and wonderful performance.
Check the battery........if u have multi meter u can check it with that or the best way to check ur battery, Touch the battery pins with ur tongue and see if u feel anything.

That will short circuit the battery and then it WON'T work. Also 4v isn't enough to go across your tongue and feel it.
What will short short circuit ?
Just remove the battery and touch it with ur tongue u can feel the current mate.....don't jump on conclusion without trying it.
Thank you guys! I have tested the battery and is full charged (4.14V). Any other ideas?
I really appreciate your help and concern.

No... I gave it to BestBuy.. I will get a new phone in 3 days.. I have to install GB boot loaders first..
I want to install AOKP, without GB boot loaders i am getting rainbows.. So i want GB boot loaders first..
Heimdall technique failed for me..
I dont know what i have done, mistake..
I have done this but without install GB boot loaders...if you carefully see you can read and make almost everything with the rainbows CWM screen...I did it, tested it and then back to Zeus 6 which I think is the perfect ROM for my needs.
I'm too noob to messing around with boot loaders...LOL
I hope you get your phone back soon.

Hi all,
I have a strange display issue where in I'm observing a blue tinge in my display. Kindly advice of there is anything i could do/test before taking to SSC. Many Thanks!
Please find image below. Although image is of poor quality the problem is clearly visible. Also this is clearly visible only under full brightness and when phone boots, but hardly noticeable when under normal brightness conditions and non black screen.
PS: Sorry for Poor image quality, i don't have a decent secondary phone/camera at the moment.

2. Stock 2.3.5 Yet!
Will post more updates as i hear from him/get my hands on my mobile tomorrow. Thanks all for your support! :good:

Key in *#0*# and try the LCD test for colours and sensors buddy. Check if everything is working fine. You can also try the app LCD Test. Seems like the LCD panel might have undergone some pressure. It may be like fallen, or some one pressed their weight over it, or exposed to heat(steam). Check if touch sensors are working in that spot.:fingers-crossed:

Check whether actually it's a LCD issue or it's on the software side.
- Input *#0*# in the keypad & run the different colour tests Red, Blue, Green & Black.
- If the colors seem normal then it could be a software bug but incase you still see those bluish smudges on the screen then it could be a hardware problem.
- Flash the stock ROM, clear the cache, dalvik cache & check if it resolves your problem. (do a hard reset as the last option)
- Even if the above option doesn't help then take it to a service center as it could be a hardware(LCD) problem.
Do update here if it solves the problem. Hope this helps.
Cheers !
Thanks cooleagle and selva.simple.
I tried with the inbuilt colour tests and the LCD App. Every color is rendered perfect except for black. only in black screen i could see the blue smudges. That again with brightness on the higher side it is noticeable, with brightness around 30% it is hardly seen.
I'm away from system, hence shall try flashing stock rom and hard reset at a later point.

Just check wether you have tick/untick Auto adjust screen power option. try doing the opposite thing and then check if every thing is working fine.
This is the issue when running with black screen. All other colors are reproduced fine. Vipul, i tried that makes no difference to the issue.

Phone to SSC
UPDATE: Submitted my Phone to SSC, he was trying to convince me that it isn't a big problem. I have conveyed i have no interest in carrying forward a fault in phone to Out of Warranty period and then pay for the same. He told he shall call back to confirm if display needs to be replaced (Also specified a 4 days ETA)
SSC Updates
Hi All,
After one full week, SSC people called me up today, they said they haven't got any confirmation of replacement LCD shipment from Noida. Hence requested an ETA of 2 days. After that, if they don't get an confirmation on spare availability, they'll proceed with a replacement or refund!
Also, on my request, they agreed to let me use the phone till a decision is made or spare becomes available.
Request you guys to assist me on taking further steps if refund option is suggested by them. Thanks in advance.

It's upto you mate. As ICS is finally here for our handset you can weigh your options. If you're willing to spend more money than what you'd payed for SGR then you can ask for a refund but if the budget stays the same i.e around 21k then there's very little competition to SGR even now.
BTW do ask them & tell us here how much they'll give you back incase of a refund so that everyone could have a ball park figure in their mind incase they also are given this option.
Cheers !

Yes. But its applicable only if a spare hardware or spare device is available. Only if both are not available, they can go for refund. Till a single piece of required hardware of another handset is available, you can deny the refund. I believe u r in Chennai buddy. Which area are you and where u have given it for service.

And people like you are the reason the bootloader was locked.
I don't understand how this is even possible. Why would you think it was okay to Install a ROM over top carrier specific phone.
At the very least you could have asked to someone on the forum or created a thread if it could be done before you flashed it

His way isn't a USB dongle. We see this at least 5 times a week in every section for this phone. People flash the wrong ROM (usually international) and they get no life out of it. The only way people have gotten it back was having it JTAGGED.

Instructions:
1. Turn off your phone and pull out the battery for about 10-15 seconds.
2. Just put the battery back and don’t turn it on.
3. Plug the USB Jig into the micro USB port on the phone.
4. After about 2-3 seconds, you can see the yellow download mode logo on the screen.
5. Unplug the USB Jig.
6. Connect your phone with USB cable to computer and then flash your phone via the program “odin”.
I'd try taking your battery out, holding the power button for a few seconds. Then leaving the battery out for 30 min first, before buying one.. I doubt it will work, but I have came out of bricks that way (blew my mind). Still prolly should do that when using the dongle.. MOST EVERY THING can have a dongle put into it, it's what the developers use to foce hardware into manufacturing mode, developer mode, customer mode, clear mem, maint. mode.

I just woke up and my screen started shacking , everything is moving up and down randomly by 0.3 mm ( like in movies when a computer gets attacked by an alien virus )
It seems it happens more often when I touch the screen , but its also shacking on its own just les often.
I have 32 GB Nexus 5 everything is stock

You can add dots/spaces between the url of the image to post!
something like : h t tp s: // www example. com/nexus5 .jpg
Rippling/shaking effect on screen means a hardware failure... However, just to be sure, we would like to look at it...
Last resort might be to factory reset it.. but I doubt if it's going to help.

This happens only in Google Now or everywhere? If yes, then it looks like a screen failure. RMA it asap.
However, I would suggest a factory reset first and see to confirm it.

Since your fully stock, there's no question of uninstalling Xposed framework or anything of that sort.
Backup your data and factory reset it. If that doesn't help, then it's obviously a hardware fault and the only thing you can do is send it to Google/LG! Good luck :good:
