Just spoke to LG UK and they said this:
As far as we are aware the 2.3 Gingerbread update for the LG Optimus 3D will be available from the 5th December 2011 for open models in the UK.
So thats only for open model, mines from Orange so will be even longer.
Soon they will say that the update is delayed for January and then will be delayed again in January to February and then...
It's always the same story with LG and to be honest I really don't care anymore about the GB update, it's too late.
ICS is around the corner already and I don't see it coming to the O3D.
What happened to it being November?
I like their phones but not the way they give a firm date, finally, then change it. I get my updates about a month after release so at this rate will still have froyo in february.

Well, I can't get my phone until friday due to some problem with att. For those of you who know fridays October first and unless samsung either comes out with a 2.2 update or an official release date by then as they previously stated they would im going to be joining the iphone crew. Cant stand this lack of support. At least with apple you know they support your device for 2-3 years. Or maybe ill just wait it out either to see what samsung does or for the white iphone.
ahh screw it
Wow... Lol.... Stfu!
I wouldn't hold your breath.
Anyway, I'd want them to figure out what the hell went wrong with the "minor" OTA that was bricking stock phones before pushing out a major update like Froyo.

You better buy that iPhone then.
Sasmsung announced 2.2 in September for the international Galaxy S NOT the captivate or any other US variant. They have clarified this a few times. Last week, they have announced that the 2.2 update for International Galaxy S is delayed until October.
I don't think they care about your ultimatum, but you should have the facts straight before making the threat.
Another useless thread.

So says 9to5Google via a Youtube leak.
I wonder if this means it'll start pushing out to NS owners during that date...
i hope :crossesfingers:

Highly unlikely.
There isn't a lot of history here, but for what it's worth: The Nexus S was announced on Dec 6th running Gingerbread. The SDK was available on Dec 6th. The Nexus S became available in the US on Dec 16th. Gingerbread started being pushed into AOSP on Dec 17th. The Nexus One didn't get the OTA to Gingerbread until Feb. Apparently the OTA was rather buggy from the few threads I read (I had sold my N1 in Dec). Maybe this was the cause of the delay.
Froyo was announced May 20th, the SDK was available on May 20th. Froyo OTA'd to the Nexus One on June 23rd (that felt like a LOOONG wait) and subsequently pushed into AOSP.
We'll see what the timetables are this time around, but I wouldn't expect it for several weeks at the earliest. After the "official" unveiling of ICS if it's anything like past announcements you'll see the SDK/NDK first, followed by the push into AOSP in a few weeks, then some time after that you'll start to see OTA's to older.
Google may change it up this time and OTA to the Nexus S sooner, but I wouldn't get my hopes up.
we wont get icecream till after prime release
My guess would be a month or two after
I hope Google surprises us all with OTAs to many devices concurrently. But that is even more unlikely than us getting in a few weeks.
Sent from my Nexus S using xda premium
im pretty sure google wants the prime owners to enjoy ics first. its a selling point right now.
on a side note, (i don't remember the history) were there any custom roms running froyo or gb before the official OTA was sent out?
If only they'd release ICS for Nexus S just to sorta promote it lol
Nexus S

SDK *might* come out on the 12th, but not ICS itself.

Why would they give it to another device when the Prime is supposed to be the flagship ICS device?

You understand they postponed the product announcement. I doubt they are delaying the launch of things (especially on the hardware side).
"Samsung and Google decide to postpone the new product announcement at CTIA Fall. We agree that it is just not the right time to announce a new product. New date and venue will be shortly announced."
The delay sucks.
Here are leaked photos and videos of the Prime running ICS: http://www.engadget.com/2011/10/07/samsung-galaxy-nexus-spotted-in-the-wild-video/
Why the heck was this thread moved?
Ice Cream Sandwich relates to Nexus S, even if there is conversation about Nexus Prime thrown in.
The heck?
Yeah, they aren't delaying any launch. In fact, they will probably just move the announcement to later in the week. It will not affect any dates other than maybe they move the SDK release back two or three days.
Woohoo!
Bring it on!
I hear it's in 29th October
I wish ICS on my Captivate
Gah, first no SGSII on Verizon, now a delay in the announcement for ICS and the Prime? God, why are you punishing me!?
Does this mean that 3.0 + is going to be available for mobiles also ?
Time to wait and see.

Let's hope it will be worth waiting ...
Yes, if you had any doubt about Motorola going backwards on timely updates under Motorola, we do not worry!
Apparently, it stands confirmed now that the G4 Plus is in line to receive the 7.0 before this year's end.

Now, Q4 isn't too quick, but we are okay with this, right?
And how many Galaxy sets you think will get before G4 Plus. Well, not many, they are still busy replacing units, and changing batteries.
Q4 begins in four days. We'll be seeing people complain on saturday
It means that is or Q4?
even though this is retbr thus comes fast ...??
Can't wait to taste the Nougat!
I hope you come soon ....
Sorry to stick out like a sore thumb, but as per http://www.lenovo.com/ww/lenovo/results.html
and given Motorola Mobility having formally fully acquired by Lenovo, LNVGY's fiscal ends March 31. So unless the good folks at Lenovo meant Q4 of the current calendar year, it may take slightly longer than expected/desired.
The quote was "Android 7.0 Nougat update before the end of Q4 this year."
Didn't say "fiscal year"... Nor "beginning of Q4"... It can be as late as 31 December as far as I can tell.
Come on the Hype Train!!! I can't wait for Nougat!
Although, I did root my phone, so I'm gonna need that firmware when it comes out... Oops.
I've had the red magic 3 since it came out. I bought it when it first came out and it already feels like it's been abandoned by its company ?
True.
Someone make a petition lol
I couldn't believe an update was released with August security update. Can't seem to upload a screenshot. But build number 1.18.
I got the system software update yesterday afternoon.
Android 10
Android Security Patch Level: April 1, 2020
Software Version: V600AM10h
This is the first update since I got my phone on April 1st, and it shipped with the February 2020 Security Patch.
Just an FYI for folks on the fence for whatever reason. A surprisingly timely update.
I hear T-Mo users got a similar update as well.
Edit - I can't seem to upload an image of my Settings screen.
Adding proof via screen shot.
I couldn't figure out how to edit an attachment into the original post.
Apologies for the double-post.
New update on AT&T just hit.
Still on the April 1, 2020 security patch, but the software version number jumped from V600AM10h to V600AM10p.
No idea what's new, yet.
Is there a way to turn off auto updates? I was in the middle of a video chat when it decided to install this update and reboot my device.
Update info from AT&T support page
Support page says it adds Dynamic Spectrum Sharing
Will not show as available for me on mine.
My LG phones NEVER update. AT&T tech says: "We'll push one out. It will come in 4 hours" but it never happens. They replaced my V30 and G8 over that. I've had my V60 since the week it was launched. No updates.
