[Q] Problem with Market license. - Samsung Galaxy SL i9003

Hi guys,
I am new to this world of android and have been downloading paid apps through fourshared as suggested by a friend. It worked completely fine until last week when the android market got updated.
Now every time I try to update a paid app through market or install a paid app which I have downloaded for free through fourshared, an error comes up saying I cannot do that operation since I`ve not purchased it.
On the other hand, my friend (who has the same phone) still uses fourshared to download all the paid apps for free in spite of the android market update.
can somebody please help me out of this?

What the hell is an APK repository

While looking for an old and outdated APK I stumbled across someone who mentioned repositories. I googled for them and found a list of different repositories. To use them I downloaded an app called APKtor.
So what exactly is a repository is it old non supported apps ... current apps ... or warez

mostly warez
Yeah after going through the listings I've found a few of them to be warez...I don't like dealing with warez when I can pay the 3-4 dollars to own it... But looking for older apps is cool cause I have a chance to find discontinued apps

Most of them are pirated warez, so if you don't live in a country where paid apps are not supported then u have no reason to use them

[Q] Applanet

So I see a bunch of folks around xda mentioning, even recommending applanet.
i`m certainly not opposed to free but I just cant figure out why they want permission to access to log in credentials when installing the app.
Would anyone smarter then me like to give their two cents on this?

hmmm. I don't remember it asking me for credentials....I got the apk and installed it, and it launched......maybe it used my stored credentials? hmmm. I did not give it too much thought as I have 2 google accounts. 1 for junk and another more serious. They could hack the junk one all they want.
Lemme clarify. When you install the app. The permissions page pops up telling you applanet wants (among other things) permission to access your account credentials.
Very few apps I have seen need this level of access.

Just buy apps!
Pirating will stop/stall development for the best and new apps in the android market. Support them, this will give you more pleasure with your tablet in the end.

Agreed ... baring in mind that there are apps on the Market that require really suspicious permissions as well, regardless of whether they are free or not. It's probably worse with APKTor, which is not designed towards secured downloads

I support many developers by buying apps. I didn't start this thread to be lectured by you.
I wonder why someone so opposed to pirating is even here?

You other guys aren't even reading what he's written
"The permissions page pops up telling you applanet wants (among other things) permission to access your account credentials"
As in - when you install an app from the market, it tells you what it's going to access on your phone and asks for your OK. He's asking why an app would want access to your credential information portion of the phone (as opposed to just SD Card Contents, etc). He hasn't said ANYTHING about trying to pirate apps!
BTW, I've never seen one ask for that.

By that you mean what? That people opposed to pirating apps shouldnt read threads by people that do?
Im also opposed to pirating. Yeah, if the app is free and you cant get it, then ask the dev for the apk, but knowingly taking a paid app without giving a donation or any recognition to the dev is wrong.
Just my opinion.

What I meant was. Why would someone with such high morals be on a site dedicated to circumventing software limitations imposed by others.
Having said that. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and since the awkwardness of the apPlanet apk changed my mind about installing it I don't even see a need to continue those thread.
BTW. Some apps are ridiculously expensive and I still don't see a reason to pay upwards of $20 dollars to a group of investors just to find i still can't edit word documents.

There is a big difference in "circumventing software limitations imposed by others" on a device you have bought and own and blatant pirating of apps
So, everyone on xda has no morals? Im sorry, but thats a ridiculous statement. People on here mod free apps, or they will mod paid if you have proof youve paid for the app. No roms have paid apps in them unless theyre put in by mistake and then theyre taken out.
And yeah, there are ridiculously priced apps (navigation for £40 - £80) but people do buy them.

Applanet is a warez source - this site has a very strict policy *against* warez, which is probably why the "hacking" aspect of it is tolerated.
There's one other thread on XDA concerning Applanet and it got shutdown immediately.

That still doesn't make stealing an application right though does it? Don't forget that you have 24 hours from making your Market purchases to uninstall and get a refund if it doesn't suit your needs.

I though this subject was not about pirating but more about why an app asks for some rights.
btw applanet is not only for pirating it also provides free apps unavailable on the market.
in addition it seems to not providing anything anymore the last past days....
There's supposedly a new release coming soon, and they're fixing the server end of it as well.
I think what it boils down to is if you're uncomfortable with the permissions an app is requesting, then don't install it. Better safe than sorry right?
Actually its only 15 mins to return the app. Still its better than ios

AppPlanet is a warez app.
We don't do warez here. XDA is about getting the most from your device, not about screwing people over.

[Q] Applanet offline forever?

I'm wondering if Applanet will ever be online again? It's always offline. Such a big loose.
Anyone knows something about it?
did you read the pastbin found here?
im not sure if asking about warez here on a developer site is exactly the best thing to do especially since a lot of the developers belong to this site.
to answer your question though no one really knows if it will be back online or not. 1st his post about it came every day, then every few days, then once every a week or so & now nothing about it since the pastbin the end of june.
a
does anyone know an alternative to it?
There are a ton of alternatives but this forum does not promote warez in any way so listing them could be against XDA's rules.

Applanet: developers' enemy #1
The developer of applanet finally wrote in their facebook wall after months of being inactive.

i can understand why people would go to applanet especially for people who are in country's that can't access paid apps or even for those who want to test an app out for longer then 15mins. i do want to point out that the developers are doing this for a living and trying to make a means of support off they're apps...you wouldn't skip out on a dinner bill would you? well most of you wouldn't, its really the same thing when you think about it.
Topic reported to mods. I can't believe you talk about a market full of pirated apps on XDA.
Applanet = warez = not allowed

So you're asking for a pirate copy? is this allowed in these forums? How about BUYING it? that would for sure "provide you with a stable copy"
I believe this section is called " dev and HACKING" unless you have the solution im looking for, which by the way is so far from buying it, pkease leave
i happen to know the dev. i've reviewed this app for him before. in fact im going to be doing another one soon because he sent me the latest version.
the reason it keeps crashing on you is because he has implemented the market license thingy that detects you haven't paid for it the second your device touches the internet.
I hate paying for apps too, but the ones that deserve my money, i pay for, and i have a large list of awesome apps that i have paid for because it was actually worth it.
dude, this app is worth it. it works with ics and gingerbread, it has way more customizations than any other face unlock app out there AND it is the most stable!
And i only review good, useful apps. and when they are paid apps, they better be worth it!
but as far as getting a hacked version, i wouldn't hold your breath, sorry dude.

MineCon Capes

Hi guys
Sorry for such a noobish topic in a forum where people seriously contemplate how to repair a bricked device
I play Minecraft PE and, some people know that there is a special perk called a "cape " in the game.
It was available in the game by using a redeem code in 2016 but I was unable to get it (I didn't know)
The redeem code has been expired, so even if I go back to old versions with tibu, I can't get it.
There are many modded versions of MCPE around which have capes unlocked. Could someone please teach me how to make one myself?
Thanks in advance
