How to manually boot into CWM with buttons? - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm stuck on the splash screen....need help please.

Push and hold both the VOl Down plus the Power button till you see
some wordings at the top left corner, immediately push the Vol Up button within 5 sec.

with the TF-101 powered off:
-power the TF-101 on; while holding the down volume rocker
-you will then see a message at the top of the screen..
-push the up volume rocker
= you are now boooted into CWM

I'm having an issue also. I cannot boot into recovery. When I hold the power button and the Up Volume it vibrates 3 times then the orange LED turns on and I am left with a blank screen til I pull the battery.
do you guys have a pd98img.zip file on your sd cards? if so, remove it and try again.

That worked, put me in HBoot then I just chose recovery.
That's correct, choose recovery for CWM.

[Q] No Recovery after Root

I just used the Universal Root v4 Live CD for my TF, but I do not have any recovery abilities. If i hold up and power when I turn it on, it just turns the screen black. Nothing else happens. I do have root. I have checked it with many different programs. Any Advice? Thanks in advance

In the 1st post of the thread there'a a FAQ:
[Q] How can I reboot in APX/recovery mode?
[A] Do as follows:
VOL UP + POWER BUTTON for ~5sec = boot in APX mode. The screen will stay black as if it is turned off. This mode is used only when you use nvflash to flash boot/recovery/data partition (this is the first step in my script).
VOL DOWN + POWER BUTTON ~5sec = will appear a screen where it says to press vol down again to wipe all data (obviously you don't want to do it now), or press up to enter RCK (recovery mode). If you installed CWM you will see the main menu navigable with vol up / vol down / power button.
If you have the stock recovery you will see a green android with a esclamation mark on a yellow triangle.
[Q] Help! I can't reboot in recovery mode!
[A] I think the main problem here is that it is a bit tricky to get into CWM recovery, once you see the small text come up don't try to read anything, just hit volume up.
Hold volume down plus power until the text in upper left shows,if you let go too early it just boots up and you never see the text. If you wait too long you don't get the option to boot into recovery. Hope that helps..

can you reboot the device? if yes does it stuck on reboot without pressing buttons?
if you cant turn of the device with the power button just press power + vol up at the same time for 3 sec
now it should turn off
this may help you
Here is how I was able to get into different booting modes.
1. Power down
2. Power up and wait for the M sign to show up
3. Press volume down, nvFlash will display, press volume down again, RSD mode will display, press volume down again, fastboot mode will display.
4. Press volume up to select fastboot
5. Go ahead and flash the kernel that you like to restore
can you change the booting mode by pressing vol down?

thanks for your quick response..
yes,i can reboot/powerr off by power+vol UP.
but if only press power button to turn off ,nothing happens.
EDIT:-try this method and no success.
I don't know if I got something wrong up there, but since you didn't flash anything and were just playing around with vol up/down, you should not have to flash anything...
What happens if you just reset your xoom by holding vol up + power for 3 seconds and after that just wait? Imo your xoom should just boot back into android and everything should be fine...
he donĀ“t has to flash something
i am not sure if he wasnt able to turn of the device... and reboot it or something else...
the points for flashing r optional - if he wants to change the kernel or something

Try holding Vol up + PWR for 3 seconds and release, you should see the Motorola logo.
Can you tell us what happened before the xoom went off, or if you have loaded a custom ROM some time ago.

Let the battery go all the way down. Then put it on charge and try to boot-up.
Can you get into fastboot mode? If so, you should be able to reboot into your OS.

How to get into recovery in CM9

After flashing the CM9 ROM Revolver was released and I want to move over to it. I can't get into recovery using any of the methods I know about, I tried reboot recovery in TE, I tried the button combo, I tried using the reboot recovery in ROM Manager...Starting to get a little pissed off.
Any suggestions to keep me from losing my mind?
What happens with the button combo?
I found that the best button combo is to first hold the down volume only, then press power for 2 seconds and let go, then when you see the text hit the up button.
I used to start with both down and power but the text disappeared too fast.

Same thing happened to me ... where the text disappeared quickly what I did was I would try the button combo again immediately after and it would shut down and allow me to boot into recovery
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk
use your ADB
Code:
adb reboot recovery
That should boot you into recovery.
power off - hold volume and down - hit up then you should be in cmw/recovery
or try installing a new rom with rom manager and see if it works

TWRP

I did a restore and now it just hangs at ASUS. On my SG3 I can hold a few buttons to force it back into TWRP. How do I do this on the TF300T?????
Hold the power button and down volume while re booting. You should get a screen with 4 options. RCK should be highlighted Give it 5 seconds and hit the up volume button. If you have TWRP on your tablet. it should load.
