I'm having an issue also. I cannot boot into recovery. When I hold the power button and the Up Volume it vibrates 3 times then the orange LED turns on and I am left with a blank screen til I pull the battery.
do you guys have a pd98img.zip file on your sd cards? if so, remove it and try again.

That worked, put me in HBoot then I just chose recovery.
That's correct, choose recovery for CWM.

Alright so I believe I bricked my 3D - I was messing around.. Long story short, when I boot up, it loops at the CM7 logo over and over. I have to take my battery out to power off. Now I can't seem to find a way to boot into recovery mode or anything. As soon as I put the battery in, the phone turns on without me touching anything. I don't know what to do... Help please!

Are you sure? I Held the Volume down button, then the 3D button, and then power. The LG Logo came up, then the phone turned off...
Okay thanks got it now - When I go to restore, it says MD5 mismatch..?
I never needed the 3D button to enter Recovery.
I just hold down Vol Down and Power, wait for the Screen to turn on (LG logo) and then release the Power Button but keep the Vol Down pressed.
That always works for me unless the AC adapter is connected. Then I can't boot into recovery that way.

In Recovery mode go to Advanced -> Show Log. There you can see what files are giving you the md5 mismatch.
Then:
a) If some of your backup files has a name with spaces, change them to "_" and try again,
b) If the md5 problem is only with file android_secure.vfat.tar, edit the file nandroid.md5 in your PC with a text editor (notepad) and delete that filename (android_secure.vfat.tar) AND its checksum from nandroid.md5. Save nandroid.md5 and replace it in your SDcard. Try to restore again in Recovery.
Good luck,

can you reboot the device? if yes does it stuck on reboot without pressing buttons?
if you cant turn of the device with the power button just press power + vol up at the same time for 3 sec
now it should turn off
this may help you
Here is how I was able to get into different booting modes.
1. Power down
2. Power up and wait for the M sign to show up
3. Press volume down, nvFlash will display, press volume down again, RSD mode will display, press volume down again, fastboot mode will display.
4. Press volume up to select fastboot
5. Go ahead and flash the kernel that you like to restore
can you change the booting mode by pressing vol down?

thanks for your quick response..
yes,i can reboot/powerr off by power+vol UP.
but if only press power button to turn off ,nothing happens.
EDIT:-try this method and no success.
I don't know if I got something wrong up there, but since you didn't flash anything and were just playing around with vol up/down, you should not have to flash anything...
What happens if you just reset your xoom by holding vol up + power for 3 seconds and after that just wait? Imo your xoom should just boot back into android and everything should be fine...
he donĀ“t has to flash something
i am not sure if he wasnt able to turn of the device... and reboot it or something else...
the points for flashing r optional - if he wants to change the kernel or something

Try holding Vol up + PWR for 3 seconds and release, you should see the Motorola logo.
Can you tell us what happened before the xoom went off, or if you have loaded a custom ROM some time ago.

Let the battery go all the way down. Then put it on charge and try to boot-up.
Can you get into fastboot mode? If so, you should be able to reboot into your OS.

How to boot into recovery to load a ROM?
My phone started acting funny last night so I turned it off. Now when I try to reboot I'm stuck on the nexus logo. I am currently using the Eclipse Rom.
I can't enter download or recovery mode using vol. down, home, and power or vol. up, home, and power.
Any suggestions?

try home, vol up, then power.
once the phone vibrates release the power button but keep holding home and vol up and it should get you into recovery.
hope that helps. i ran into that problem the other day on a different rom and thought i would just let go of them all once i vibrated and it never worked.

Thanks I got into recovery, but my phone chooses stuff in recovery without me touching anything. I think something is wrong with my power button
Is there any way to power down or boot to recovery or download mode when stuck in bootloop?
Holding home, down vol and power only reboot the device and back to boot loop. :crying:
Is letting it battery die the only way?
Thanks
hold vol down + power... wait for a reboot, like 10 seconds or so. Imminently press vol up + home + power, but do it before the screen shows the note 5 logo... it should then boot to recovery.

Holding the power, home and volume down the entire time should take you to bootloader, the same but volume up should take you to recovery, not sure why it's not for you. Not knowing what has happened I would go to download and Odin recovery or stock. If somehow ADB recognizes it you can try that as well. Good luck.
