Yahoo Messenger problems for 3.2 - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

I have one web development company. I use Google android os version 3.2 my problem is Yahoo Messenger atm?
Worked beautifully last night, but now this morning I'm unable to see any of my contacts' statuses, whether they're online or not, and completely unable to receive any messages.
People GET my messages, as I proved with my non-mobile Yahoo account. Tried logging out and logging back in, rebooting my EVO, uninstalling and reinstalling off the Market...nothing.
Even tried logging in via my iPad's Messenger app, but it worked flawlessly on there. Just Android seems to be having the issue currently, at least for me.
Anyone else? Plz Help
Thanks

[Q] Mail app - new emails won't download

I have my business email (@ my own server) set up in the Mail app and it's been working perfectly for months, but just yesterday it suddenly stopped downloading new emails. I redid all the incoming/outgoing settings and the app says "verifying account settings ..." and it was able to verify that they were correct. I also know they're correct because they've been working fine and I didn't change anything at all, the app just suddenly decided to stop downloading my emails. I also didn't change any of the settings on my server, and Thunderbird on my desktop still downloads my new emails just fine.
I'm using HTC Desire with the stock 2.2 rom, no backup software. This has happened once before but it was because I didn't have any internal storage left, but this time I checked and I have a lot of space, so I have no idea why it won't download them. Everything else (internet browser, gmail, etc) works fine. Am on AT&T in the US.
Anyone know why this happened? How to fix it?
edit: solved. paypal had sent me an email with some weird characters in the subject which blocked it from downloading in the app which also stopped all further emails from downloading. Deleted it through Thunderbird and now everything works. god how I hate paypal

Facebook chat in Mango Beta 2 not reciving all messages..

Does anyone know whats wrong with messenger..?
In my Omnia 7 running Mango beta 2 the facebook chat messages stoped arriving..
It all worked since I updated but know it stoped working... I can see all my contacts and they can see my but I just don't get all the messages..
If they send 6 I get 1 if any... And they don't get mine... And other times they jsut get 1 of them... Stange... :S
Did you turn "Facebook Chat" on?
I can't even get past that step, all I get is a dead page.
Mine, with Mango, doesn't show FB content. The only thing the people hub shows is Windows Live content. I have the FB account setup, too. My Focus with NoDo shows FB content, though.
Oooops...spoke too soon. It just now started showing FB content...this is the first time since flashing Mango that it has shown. lol...maybe it was waiting for the opportunity to contradict me.
In mine everything about facebook works great.. All content of all kinds... Friends, calender.. All of it..
The only thing not working well is the facebook chat.. Messenger works great... But only in facebook chat messages don't show up, or just one out of 5 sent to me show...
Facebook chat is on and I can see my online facebook friends...
I thing this is a messenger thing, because in live.com messenger same thing happens.. Any ideas...?
I tested in Messenger 2011 and same problem... Could it have something to do with the new Facebook Chat... It worked well before the change...

What you've probably noticed is that on your chat settings, when you try to enable the FB chat, it goes to a non existent web page. Here's the work around:
Go to to your live account on live.com, go to profile, and you'll see the other accounts at the bottom (FB, youtube, etc) click on facebook, make sure chat is enabled, and hit save.
You'll have to type in your FB email and password. Now when you look at your phone, under the messaging settings, you'll noticed that FB chat is enabled.
You will probably have to manually resync at the very least for it to work. Other people have reported that it just takes time for your contacts to show up, and some other people have had success simply waiting because eventually they showed up for them.
Hope this helps.

Yeah, I haven't heard of anyone else that has that problem either. That would bug me too.

I've found that this is just an issue between Facebook chat and however Microsoft implements it. I've been using the Facebook chat integration in Windows Live Messenger 2011 since it first came out, and it can be sketchy at times. There are some people whom I'll appear online to, but they can't send me a message if I'm only logged in through Messenger. If I'm viewing the Facebook page, they can message me.
I also find that sometimes messages can take a long time to go through, if at all sometimes. It seems like every message will go through if you message back fairly quickly, but those that have been sitting for a while take a while to go through.
I also sometimes find that people will appear offline for no reason through Messenger, but everything works fine on the Facebook page.
I would imagine all these same problems from Messenger would also be there for the most part in Mango. It's an annoyance, but it has certainly made Messenger a lot more useful, and definitely will be a useful addition to Mango.
I stand corrected, the Facebook Chat support in Mango on my HD2 is actually working flawlessly. There hasn't been any missed messages, and only a couple have come in slightly delayed (no more than 10 seconds).
I've also been using my computer that is signed in with Windows Live 2011, and messages that come in and say the other person is offline, that isn't happening in Mango.
It's only been a couple days, but I'm impressed so far.

[Q] yahoo mail issue

I have checked everywhere i can and have found nothing else on this issue.
My wife has a shift and the only email account she has on it is yahoo. When she opens up some of her emails, she can start reading them and then about 10 - 15 seconds later the email disappears. She hits the back button and the email is still there, but when she clicks on it and pulls it up it is blank. I have deleted the account and re-installed it, I have changed the incoming and outgoing servers, and have done hard reboots with no fixes. Any suggestions?
I personally have an evo 4g with no problems.
Thanks
If your rooted, you can try deleting the account. After that boot into Recovery, Wipe Dalvik, wipe Cache, and then Reboot. When it's done rebooting and has settled down. Add the account back on. See if that resolves the issue.
Her phone is not rooted so i can't do that with hers. Thanks for the suggestion.
Could try a hard reset, as a last resort. Not sure if it will help.
My mothers phone is doing the same thing right now, and her phone is rooted.
I did notice a small fix for my mother phone and that was this. I was not able to find a fix for gmail on the mail app.
The stock settings for yahoo email shows as
htc.imap.mail.yahoo.com
ssl 993
htc.smtp.mail.yahoo.com
ssl 465
I changed it too: so all i did was cut out the "htc."
imap.mail.yahoo.com
ssl 993
smtp.mail.yahoo.com
ssl 465
me too.
Both my girlfriend and I have this same problem. We both only have one account in the stock mail app and it's Yahoo. I was hoping that rooting and moving to a different ROM would help fix this, but nope.
This happened to me unrooted as well. I am currently running x99's rooted OTA GB release so I'm wondering if it is something within the stock e-mail app. I've tried others before and prefer the integration and features of the stock app. So, if anyone comes up with something let us know.
Word of advice: STOP USING YAHOO MAIL AND SWITCH TO GMAIL.
I'm not saying this to be a troll, ****, or jerk. Yahoo mail is majorly flawed. I highly suggest to get off hotmail, windows live mail, yahoo mail, aol mail and aim.com mail ASAP.
"I'm not saying this to be a troll, ****, or jerk"
Then you won't mind educating me on how Yahoo Mail is majorly flawed. I've been using it since 1997 and have had very little to no complaints about it. Unfortunately I just realized I didn't wipe as well as I could have before flashing x99's ROM so I'm hoping a redo of that will fix my issue. Still doesn't make sense for the non-rooted stock people though.

1) Bad spam filtering - real email gets blocked while spam gets through.
2) Bad email server verification see 1
3) Bad interface
4) Lots of fake accounts, bad account security
5) Yahoo will be bankrupt soon if not bought by another company
6) You're using a Google phone, to use yahoo mail, when you could be using the native Gmail client and not have these issues in the first place, have all your contacts, calendar, and email synced and backed up in the google cloud.
So again what's the point of even bothering?
I recommend signing up for a google account and moving everything over. It's really not that hard or painful. Just connect with Outlook via POP3/IMAP, export to PST, connect to GMAIL, import PST from Yahoo, update all your online accounts until email stops coming in to your yahoo account.

wp7 messenger chat shows no one is online

Hello,
After long time I have again started using messenger chat in my wp7, earlier it use to work perfectly but from the last 2 days when I logged into messenger chat it shows no one is online even my status is shown offline to other messenger users whereas when I login to desktop live messenger app it shows online users and everything works expected, this means there is some issue with my phone and not live messenger.
I had recently upgraded to outlook.com but switched but to hotmail thinking this might be causing issue but still it shows no one is online.
I also realized I am unable to update apps too, Ball Maze, Translator & Whatsapp I have updates for these apps but it is not getting updated.
Somebody please help

Ensure that
1) Your FB chat is set to ON in messaging settings.
2) Your WiFi/ Data connection is working fine. (Open any website IE to confirm it).
Yes, FB chat is broken for me too. Nothing wrong with your phone.
I dont use fb chat, I am talking about Windows Live Messenger chat it shows no user online even when my few friends are online likewise it shows I am Signed in(available) but to my friends I am shown offline, I face this issue only on my phone but not on PC messenger application. Also I am unable to update apps from last 2 days or so.

Latest Chrome Update breaks Stock Email Reply Function

Try to reply to an email and "Mail has stopped working"
Uninstall Chrome updates and you can magically reply again
Based on my mere seconds of Googling it appears a bug have been reintroduced with Android System Webview (which is now integrated into Chrome and is no longer a standalone app)
Great work Google you f***in retards
Go to Playstore. Uninstall both Gmail and Chrome browser. Reinstall both again. I hope this works.
Sigh...

Reported to HTC.
Now wait and see what happens
I've hit the same issue. Funny how it works, just when I'm traveling overseas and really need it more than usual. I'm trying to fix but not certain how to uninstall the Chrome update. Info I have basically seems to need to back out all upgrades.
Can we assume they will put out a fix for this?
Thanks for the info greatly received as my HTC U11 just packed up on emails. Did as you advised and back up and running, why do they mess with something that was working and never test it properly before releasing updates?
I have the same problem. I uninstalled Chrome updates and now HTC mail works again. However now Amazon Shopping and Underground doesn't work, requires update to System Webview which is now embedded in Chrome. So how can I revert Chrome to its previous update, since removing updates reverts it to HTC stock version?
HTC mail working well here, and Gmail too.
I don't have problems with Google Chrome! Is working well! Anyway, i don't use Chrome,. I'm using Samsung Internet Browser app with Adblock Plus for Samsung Internet Browse Safe on my HTC U11, because it's much, much faster than Chrome! My second browser is Firefox with sync Windows 10 bookmarks.
I had the same problem the other day on my u11 removed the latest chrome update. Worked fine for a day now I can't send and email or reply
I ran into the same issue. I uninstalled the Chrome update and am able to use the stock email app.
HTC reported it back to Google.
And Google likely will fix it in the next Chrome update
Android mail crashes with March 2018 Chrome release
After a week or two of not being able to reply or forward I uninstalled Chrome updates and low an behold mail worked.
Next day it stopped again so I disabled automatic updates and re-uninstalled Chrome updates and yes mail worked again.
Shame I cannot figure out what chrome version this is or even release date.
Looks like it is broken again? Cannot forward or reply to emails, but composing fresh to the same address results in a successful send. Otherwise it just errors out and says "unable to send messages"
Seriously FCUK HTC I am so tired of their bullish
HTC Official Support Position......... wait for patch and use another email client in the meantime................ FCUK this company!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's seems to work fine here.
What Chrome and HTC Mail version do you have? I have 66.0.3359.126 and 10.70.1031252.

Yes these are the versions I have as well. Noticed Android Webview is still at 61.x.x.x with Chrome installed, discovered I can disable chrome and enter the Beta program to get to Webview 66.x.x.x and the problem still exists. Replied and forwarded emails fail immediately, and will not send, but composing a new email works fine. Also tried setting up the gmail app to send/receive my POP3 emails and it had the exact same problem.... Sent and replied emails showed Failed when attempting to send

There is a HTC Mail 10.70.1035099 now. Might be worth testing.
This problem was fixed with the HTC Mail update
