Over/Underclocking with setcpu? - HTC Sensation

I have a question about using setcpu with over and underclocking. Does it apply to both cores? Or is it just one?

It only works one core which is the main core

No point in using that app anyway....We have virtuous daemon, configurator , viperMod, system tuner. Setcpu has an issue with changing governors constantly that causes wakeup locks, think it's mention in some thread.

Yeah, I recently tried setCPU and it went from 85% charge to dead overnight. My phone wasn't particularly stable while using it either, even when the clock speed was only set at normal speeds.

Kernel question

I applied the 1.76mhz kernel overclocked and ubdervolted and I want to know is it safe to overclock to 1.76? And if so what should be the minimum... Also is it safe to force both cores to run with system tuner pro?

Should probably be okay but if you find your phone getting hot and rebooting then lower the clock speed. 384MHz should be ideal for a minimum.
Is there an advantage to forcing both kernels to run?

You mean both cores? IMO, not really as the second core activates when needed i.e. when playing a game so forcing the second core just wastes battery really.

What's the best Governor for battery life?
Using bricked kernel on ICS and trying to find out the best one.

gpu overclocking

is there an app or a command to run . to be able to OC the GPU . or is it true once the cpu is OC it also affects the GPU.
There's an app called Chainfire 3D in the market....it doesn't really oc but its supposed to enhance the performance of the gpu.

wow you are right , it does enhance the performance .
thanks
but my question still remains can it be possible to truly to oc the gpu .
If you are rooted you can OC using apps such as oc/uv beater or daemon controller

Those apps only affect the cpu, is there app for the GPU .
On the Desire Hd fourm a someone wasn't able to overclock the gpu to 245 MHz but it would reset to 145 MHz after a few minutes. He has closed the tread but is working on the kernal and may take a while since it is a big project. As of now it is unknown whether s/he has abandoned or working on it since his last post was December of 2011.

try current widget
What's that?please explain alittle bit.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA
Don't use current widget, it does not at all what you want. Use setCPU from the market or system tuner

Is it true that you can use CPU set for free if you are registered with xda.com?

It's always free, just not the pro version

Huh? There is no pro version of SetCPU.
Also OP how many question threads did you make? More than half the Q&A threads on the front page are your questions alone!
Sorry indeed, was confused with system tuner

Remove the no frills app.Buy Setcpu off the market (or find it for free on here using search) install it and choose a lower frequency then set on boot,Also check what governor you are using as "performance" or "on demand" are performance biased.I'd use lagfree or conservative
Hey how do you get set CPU free of here?how does that work and thanks for the info and yes I uninstalled no-frills a week ago.

Simple Google search: http://lmgtfy.com/?q=SetCPU
4th link down.
The UI pretty self explanatory. Move the slider up or down to change the speeds.

Isn't cheating any company or anything out of money against the rules of this forum? ( in this case whoever made setcpu app)

Nothing when it's the dev that's making it available for xda members.

Please reference this post.
test system tunner ...
available in market
I wasn't saying use google to get "Warez" simply that MHuang made it free to XDA users in the G1 forums years ago and as far as im aware he still does!
To the OP,
You are obviously quite new to the device,I suggest trolling the forums for the sensation (Q&A,General) and read the posts. It'll take a while but ALL the info you will ever need has probably been asked before
Don't ask the same things over and over please op
