can somebody tell me how to enable alphanumeric passwords on my windows phone 7.5. I only find the possibility to use numeric passcodes. With the mango update the use of alphanumeric passcodes are possible. Is this only possible for use in an enterprise (via policy) or is there even a registry key (which I suppose)?
if yes, please name the reg key!

Dear XDA Developers,
At last the company where I am working decided to use mobile email. All my colleagues with different brands of PPC are able to synchronize except me. I tried to synchronize my email from the another PPC then the PPC pops out with xchange server xxx.xxxxxxx.xxx must enforce security policies on your device to continue synchronizing. Do you want to continue? then I click OK and I am able to synchronize. But, with my P535 it is not poping out anything, it only pops out error code 85010004. I tried everything but no use. Since we are a global company, it is not allowed to make any setting changes in the exhange server because I am the only one having this problem.
Thanks alot in advance,
OmaricO
This is a warning that to use the facilities on Exchange you need security policies on your device enforced.
What this means in English is that you are forced to have PIN code protection on your device - ie enter a password/PIN number to be able to use your device.
I use a simple PIN and once this is set, you should be able to sync with exchange ok.
Hope this helps.
I tried doing that. The problem that my ASUS P535 is not giving me the prompt xchange server xxx.xxxxxxx.xxx must enforce security policies on your device to continue synchronizing. Do you want to continue? it giving me the error code 85010004. But when I try to synchronize with my JAMIN (Prophet), it pops with the prompt and I click OK and I am able to synchronize. Both PPC are running WM5.
Thanks for your replies in advance
I managed to solve the problem by upgrading to WM6. Thanks alot.
hi, everybody!
dears, I have asus p750 and the same problem persists on wm6, wm6.1...
so, if somebody could solve the problem, it would be great.
maybe, there is some possibilty to export registry keys from
525 asus to 750? they have similar roms
thanks!
Heres my delima....
provxml defines registry keys for WAP settings in connections. However my carrier requires a username and password, both of which are defined in provxml under the CM_Networks and whatnot. The problem is, setting the username based on the Phone info pulled out of the registry. I can use mortscript and get the phone ID, but how do I add it to the provxml so that when the cab runs, it does the correct username based on the phone#?
I'm trying this as a cab and OEM so either way would be fine.
Any new help today?
I need to run RDP on WM6 without a login prompt. Currently when you select to use remote desktop on WM6 it prompts for domain/userid/password to login.
Is there a registry hack, configuration, or maybe a command line type param to get around this?
Anyone, this is a show stopper for me!!!

You need to login first to access a computer. When you startup your computer it asks you to login right: username, password (may be blank), and domain (local - you don't write it).
Do you want to hack some PCs without knowing the username and password?
Shortly: You cannot get around this.
Sorry for poor explaination
I really don't mind if user id and pwd are required, I just would like to be able to pass it from command line or something so this can be more automatted, that was all.
Maybe you could create the .rdp file on your desktop and copy it over?
hi guys .as new to winmo (td2) could you please propose a password manager that would synchronize also with a desktop applications.free preferably.

Try KeePass:
PC version is at: http://keepass.info/
PPC version is at: http://keepasssd.sourceforge.net/
Using keepass as well. Great app.
Ditto for Keepass, have been using it daily for years.
Just installed the PPC version, loaded my Keepass database flawlessly.
Had to change the key, though... 24 characters was too much for such a small keyboard
How to auto pass username & password
I familiar with the concept of desktop versions of password managers whereby they can invoke a web page and with a click run a macro that automatically fills in web fields such as username and password and passes ENTER key to proceed.
I can do this with Keepass for desktop but the mobile version I cant seem to figure out how this can be achieved. I can get as far as invoking the web page from the database but as far as pressing a Special button to automatically fill in web fields it seems a copy/paste function is the only choice.
This is somewhat cumbersome as the browser takes up the whole screen and to switch between that and Keepass each time you pass username then password is exhausting.
Am I missing something or is this typical "mobile experience"?
I am trying to connect and perform FTP/SSH from my WM (custom ROM) to iPod (jailbroken).
The tools I use is PocketPutty (for SSH) and Resco FTP (add in to the Explorer). The other tool is MobileFTPClient. When SSH connected, it prompted that the certificate is not recognized and requires user to accept. Once accepted, it works ok.
When using Resco, it says secure connection is not established. My guess is that certificate issue. However, it has no option to add the cert. Same with MobileFTPClient, it just give cert error too.
Question: how do I add this iPod's cert into the WM so that the FTP using Resco can work? I have the hex value.
