[Q] Kernel modules for Atheros AR9271 based usb wifi dongles

Hi i found this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=39485148#post39485148 and i already need to add this to my tablet mtech atab7t tablet with 4.0.4 android(rooted) and 3.0.8+ kernel [email protected]
I followed the post but dont working on my device.please help

Lets say a kernal version is 4.4 can the android version be 4.4.2 or does the kernal have to match the android version?

Thanks for using XDA Assist Both versions should match each other , but yes for custom rom development we can patch kernel source such that it works on higher Android version but task is not easy and requires lot of knowledge.

[Completed] How to port a 2.6 to 3.0 linux kernel

I'm trying to build a lollipop rom but I noticed that since 4.2.2, android needs 3.0 kernel or newer so this is why I'm trying to port a 2.6 kernel into a 3.0 kernel since I don't have idea how to do...

[Completed] [Q] Which MTK series is right for my device? MT6582? MT6572?

Hi all I have an Alcatel One touch POP D3 running some weird internal specifications. I have my phone rooted and working fine, but I need to know the series in which to go looking to get my custom rom. Here are my phone's statistics:
Model: ALCATEL ONETOUCH 4037R (SOUL4NA_US)
Manufacturer: TCL
Hardware: mt6581
Android Version: 4.4.2
Bootloader: unknown
Kernel Architecture: armv71
Kernel Version: 3.4.67 (vD2M-0)
As you can see I am running Android KitKat 4.4.2 and have 3.4.67 as my kernel version. The problem arises where I can't find the right MTK series to get my custom rom from, I have the MT6581 which is not the MT6582. All comments and suggestions are welcome and appreciated. Please help me out here!

Old tablet with RK2938 chip needs upgrade...

Hi, someone gave me an unused old tablet 10.4" TabTop , with Android 4.0.4, which i want to use as an ip camera screen , and i'm looking some way to upgrade it with a custom rom .
The tablet is rooted but i cant find propper twrp version and custom rom for this
Tablet model : TabTop 10.4 MGPT 05
Android 4.0.4
Kernel 3.0.8+
Version number RK2918_ANDROID 4.0.3- SDK_V2.11_20120306
rk29sdk-eng 4.0.4 IMM76D eng.root.2012027.162008 test keys
Obviously it has a Rockchip inside
Any suggestions?
