Q: Voicemail on CM7 - Nexus S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys, so whenever I install any of the CM7 roms I can't access my sprint voicemail. Does anyone else get this problem?

The Nexus S 4g handles the voicemail different than other Sprint phones. It hasnt been figured out how to use classic Sprint VVM yet. Maybe google voice?

I'm trying to help a friend. How do I do this? The only option I have is to use the default *86 "Default Voice Mail Handler".

Problem answering calls NS4G

Every time I receive a call, the sprint operator says the name of the contact calling or unknown caller and says press 1 to answer or 2 for voicemail. Has anyone else had this problem????I talked to sprint about this and they said they had to update my caller id and voicemail and that it would take 72 hrs to update. It has now been 1 week and same ole ****! I have updated prl and profile and still the same. When I press 1, I can answer the call like normal but I have to go through this process every call I get. Please help.
Welcome to awesomeness that is Google voice intergration. Check you Google voice settings, you probably have call screening turned on.

Yes this through me off to. However, go to your Google account through your computer and switch off the call screening. It is on by default.

Why not just dial your cell phone number, enter voicemail passcode and listen to your VM's?
Or, have them forwarded to Google Voice?

1) Do what I do... uninstall an reinstall google voice.
2) SKIP the sprint integration
3) Follow the normal google voice setup
It now acts like VVM and doesn't display texts

SAme carrier, but different provisioning. You might have to treat google voice as if you changed carriers...
Have you tried getting it from the Market?

I wonder if it is possible for this to work on other Samsung phones (e.g. Galaxy Note) on AT&T if you have your voicemail number set to the correct number. I know when I switched from iPhone 4 to any other phone not purchased from AT&T, I would continue to get the AT&T iPHone voicemail notifications (which come through as a text message when you're not on the iPhone) until I changed the voicemail access number manually, or put in a call to have it changed.
Someone please look at their Skyrocket settings and provide the voicemail number listed there? Thanks!
You can't just plug in any number, it has to be the local "pilot" number for voicemail. Here is a list:

Call your voicemail?
I've had an issue once where my voicemail was bugged. Calling it would bring me to nothing (no tone, nada) and the notification would randomly popup even after I dismissed it. Calling back my voicemail at some point and deleting the message fixed it somehow.

Don't know how your voicemail works, but mine I have to call my phone number to get to it. Holding the 1 key to call voicemail gave me a similar error.

If you go to settings, then call settings, what is your voicemail service set to? Carrier or Google Voice? If it's the first one, in voicemail settings you can change the voicemail number to the one you should be using.
I have changed the number and still receive that notification that I have voicemails :/

Have you been able to get into your voicemail though? As I said earlier, my notification would popup randomly as long as I didn't listen to the message in my voicemail.

That's probably the source of your problem. I'd call your carrier to inquire about what's going on.
ya....now that I think about it I had that error before I rooted my phone....calling sprint!

Not sure if you've resolved this yet or not, but I was having the same problem. I just went into call settings and changed the voicemail number from "*86" to my personal number and everything fire right back up. Hope this helps.

Voicemail Notification

Hi guys,
I got one of those beauties just recently and absolutely love it.
Only one thing that I couldn't work out:
The phone doesn't send me voicemail notification. So when someone calls and leaves a voicemail, it does not send a message to my phone, saying that I have new voicemail. Do I need an app for that?
Thanks for help!
I would suggest calling att or whichever carrier you have if the issue came out of the box. They likely didn't provision the account properly.

Visual Voicemail doesn't seem to be compatible with HTC One X...
Call att tell them to provision you for visual voicemail then install the app from the play store. It works just fine.

Are you able to call into your voice mail? If so does it let you set it up or access it like normal? In any case att needs to reset your voice mail, if none of these things resolve the issue you should be escalated to their tech support so they can look into detailed settings from your voice mail.
