Make sure that the keyboard is compatible with the android version ur rom is based out of.
Well that would be my prob. - no .lib files - only .apk files.... where can i find keyboards that have both?
I thought I would post this to make it easier to find as it was buried in the gummy charge thread.
Basically, after you get up and running with gummy charge 1.5 or other roms, you may notice the market will be missing apps and you will have a problem downloading a few too. To check to see if your market is working correctly do a search for MLB at bat... if you can't see those apps then you need this fix. The fix is listed below. The fix edits a few lines of code in your build.prop file which gives you all apps in the market no matter what rom you are using. Its completely harmless and will fix issues you are having
1. Download fix.apk from the URL below
2. Install the fix.apk
3. Go into your app drawer and find the app called 'market fixer' and open it. Then select fix.
4. Approve root request
5. Reboot within the market fix app
You should now have all apps in the market and your market downloads should work

Find it here. I can now download mlb at bat 2011 thank goodness.

My fingerprint now shows "shadow" in it. Whatever, it works for me. Hopefully nothing else is screwed up.
THANK YOU! This was one of the main things bugging me about this phone, just got it a couple days ago
You, sir, are awesome. Thanks much!
Cool, same problem with EE4 debloated. This fixed me right up. I found if completely stock EE4 has the same problem?

MLB at bat doesn't show up for me in the market.
but Trillian does show up.
does that mean I still need this Market app fix?
just install directly
nice works great

I am running Debloated v4.2.1. I installed fix.apk, and then rebooted.
If "MLB at Bat" is supposed to indicate that my Market is fixed, I'm not "fixed" yet.

It sounds like you may not have followed my instructions in the original post.
You must install the fix. Apk
You must then immediately find the app in your app drawer called market fixer and open it
You must choose the fix button then accept root request
Then you must reboot within the market fix app

This fix doesn't work without rooting and I am not prepared to do that. Is there a fix without having to root?
I am trying to port over the Galaxy S email app from the Epic to the Nexus S.
Root Explorer to system/app and doesn't show after a reboot. tried to install apk as normal and says app not installed. Any ideas why pushed to the app folder and instal won't work? Any other ideas to get it installed?
I backed up the original as email.apk.bak so it is there to redo, but didn't remove any other email items from other folders.

did you try checking the permissions?
Go to system/app, set to r/w, and check permission.
I believe all system app should have a chmod permission set 740 -
Check all Owner, Group, and Others for 'Read'
Check only Owner for 'Write'
Do not check any for 'Execute'
I'm pretty sure you don't have to install apk files. Copy email.apk to system/app, do the following above, reboot, and Galaxy S e-mail app should work.
Changed all those and still no go. Still will not show up when rebooting. I wonder what is going on in the app.

I have recently installed the Android SDK and found that i could pull system apps form emulators! i used this to get all android apps that i thought would be cool to have and these are the ones i could get to work with no root.
Calculator
DevTools (Development)
Spare Parts
DeskClock
Email
Custom Locale
Music
Terminal Emulator(Can be found in DevTools)
The apps that I tried that DON'T work are:
Launcher
Browser
I don't know if Gallery works or not... i haven't had the chance to try.
EDIT: sorry for cutting off... accidentally hit submit then internet went out :/
EDIT: added more apps that work and linked Gallery for you guys to try out.

I'd wait for the hot spot flash file so you can use the native hotspot app built in like the s4

Sorry, I'm not familiar with Xposed framework.
Xposed framework is cited as Must Have.
Does the Sprint GS5 have Xposed framework installed?
thanx in advance...
No. Xposed framework is an add on for root users. It let's you install other mods. To get xposed framework, download the xposed installer from here:
http://repo.xposed.info/module/de.robv.android.xposed.installer
Then install the apk, open it and install xposed. It will tell you to reboot. Once you reboot, open it and go to downloads. Search for tether and you'll see the tether app. Also try out Gravity Box, Wanam xposed, they are modules, basically let's you change everything about your phone.

OK, so I followed those steps and it look s like its gonna work but then after a minute I get the notification that I am "Not subscribed to the hotspot service..."
I opened the SQL file and the value of tether_dun_required is back to 1. I tried changing it to zero, rebooting, and trying again but it doesn't work. Something keeps changing the SQL value back to 1.
Any other ideas? Does someone actually have it working this way using the native HotSpot in settings?
I don't have an Android phone any longer, switched to a Windows 8 phone just for a change of pace.
Don't know if Sprint (or Samsung) changed anything as far as the HotSpot goes on the S5.
I do know that it's much easier to do the mod on a DEodexed rom. On an odexed rom, you must first deodex the services.jar and services.odex, do the mod and then reodex the file. The method I used for reodexing required having an actual phone.
For deodexing the rom, I used Dxisda's kitchen which only runs on Linux. Unfortunately, I removed my Linux setup to recover the partition space on my hard drive. It's a chore to get that set back up, and don't plan on doing it. I'm sure someone will get a deodexed stock rom out there fairly soon, they always have in the past.
I am kind of curious if the hotspot mod will still work though and I DO still have the tools installed to deodex the services jar. If someone will send me the services.jar and services.odex from there phone, I'll take a look.
Unfortunately, what you will end up with is a deodexed services.jar that won't work unless you have a deodexed rom to run it on.
