Personally, out of KE3, KI3, KJ2, and KK1 I find KI3 the best. What about you guys?
EDIT: Just retried KK1 and KE3. KK1 is still dreadful, KE3 got 6.3 down oon first speedtest - sticking with KE3.
EDIT 2: Tried T959VUVKH1, fastest modem I've tried.

Its in my signature. Plus, its the first modem after KJ1 not to have the 4 hour clock moving head issue when set to auto date and time.
KI3 has been most reliable for me in San Diego, CA
From this thread I might give KK1 another flash...

I did not even notice them both haha. I'm just amazed at this modem, except for me it is eating the battery a little faster but I usually have my data turned off if I'm not using it.

The place where I live, it takes about 2% an hour in idle. I will give this modem some time to settle in and then see how the battery is faring. Signal wise, this is better. And better signal generally translates to better battery.
trying out KK1 now, will post results later
Using kk1 today at 330am at 100% battery. Used 3% in 6 hours idle, then did heavy browsing and watched 2 movies. A few FB checks, angry birds for 30 min, quick browsing throughout the day.
Its 1107 now and im at 30% battery.
S7 rom with background data off with wifi and gps on/off throughout the day.

After flashing modem, try rebooting twice, and see if that helps. Not sure why, but this seems to help. And then try to see which band you are on with *#*#0011#*#*. Could be a case where you are stuck on 1900 instead of 850.
Started off on a KI3, upgraded to a J2 and have been content ever since...anybody else recommend the KK1? Otherwise, don't see the need to fix what's def not broken...

Be warned, though, of the slightly higher battery drain on KK1 when on standby. But this would be negated by the fact that it has better signal (didn't drop even in lift and I could hear the other person crystal clear; normally it either used to drop calls or just hold on with no voice transmission) and slightly higher speeds. Plus considering we have charger at work and car and home.
T959VUVKH1 is really fast...

I don't know if this is common knowledge or not but over the past few weeks I have had HORRIBLE battery life using the Das BAMF 1.6.2 ROM and I thought it was the ROM or the Kernel.
I realized around the same time that my battery life went to crap that I had also flashed to the new leaked radio.
Tonight I flashed back to the stock radio that comes with the phone - and VOILA! Battery life is amazing again - overclocked to 1.5 ghz and using smartass governor.
So if you haven't tried this give it a shot.
tried that that hasnt worked for me. im getting about 7 hrs of use on either 3g or 4g with extended battery. tried all different kernels. same battery on stock and cm7. dont know what else to do

Amazing battery life? What do you consider amazing? I can go about 10 hours with some pandora use and a bit of texting.

Yeah with the extended battery and froyo based das bamf I was getting over 30 hours while on 4g the whole time. Using the battery sipper kernel. That was the best. On das bamf latest gingerbread now. Definitely less battery life. Also I toggled to 3g only and now no matter what I can't get 4g back. It's the first issue I've had with the 4g since I got the phone. Strange.

Yes, it's true for YOU. But what's true for you is not for everyone else.
This phone is in alpha stages. We are all beta testing this phone for HTC and Verizon.
I have great days and horrid days. This morning? 10% battery per hour with the screen off. Battery pull. I have an extended battery.
Lets all keep testing this phone and perhaps we will all have a great phone in the end.
I fixed mine too. I bought the extended battery.

its VERY possible, because of the extended battery.
i have das bamf 1.6.3 with leaked radio and the stock bamf kernel and the extended battery. juice defender and i also use super manager pro to kill tasks when i unsleep the phone. i also turned off 'Enable always-on mobile data' (settings -> wireless and networks -> mobile networks), turned off auto-sync under accounts and sync, changed all my accounts to manual sync, and turned my brightness down. I get great battery life but i dont think i could ever go back to the stock battery (even though i want to so badly because this thing is FREAKIN HUGE).
hope that helps some people

also... SetCPU is $1.00 from the app store and you can set a profile to underclock your processor when you sleep/lock the phone which would definitely save some battery life as well, haven't got around to that yet but still working on it.

i simply do not get how u guys say u get such great battery life. i guess its cuz i barely put my phone down
I went from humble 4.22 that had some signal problem to EP3HA][Stock][ODIN] EP3HA Full & Debloated Deodexed (10/9/11) and it was worse. Flashed a new radio and still just as bad. Could it be the sim card? Should I just flash back to stock and see what happens and then get one if its not better?
Could you elaborate your "can't keep signal" scenario?
If you wished to keep EP3 rom, then just flash EE4 radio, see if it fix your radio problem.
Sorry didnt get any sleep last night. Yes I cant keep a 3g/4g signal. Either drops or is slow as crap. Went back to stock and its fine so far. Didnt think about just doing the ee4 radio. Guess Ill go back to humble 4.22 as I like the theme and if I have a problem try some of the older modems.

Don't have precise numbers, but this modem seems to retain all the benefits of UCLB1 ( at least in my experience ) but battery life has been quite noticeably better. My phone ran very warm on LB1 and consumed quite a bit of juice on cell standby. Not so on this one. Experiencing no problems with data or service in the three days since I've flashed it.
@OP: Thanks mate for keeping the naming convention in lines with the modems in modems thread.
Well ok after all that have posted it seems we have the sod winner. The new uclb3 modem seem to have a serious bug on the wake feature.
If it helps i have run Zeus ,revelation , aeon with no SOD using
Go launcher and the uckl2 modem.

As Dman said it's a wake issue (he didn't go into detail) but the 1 guy using Re3elation said his wifi would drop a lot and would lose connection at work, yet complained having an Sod. I can only come to think UCLB3 modem is borked and I'm sure Samsung is stupid enough not to have found an issue with dropped wifi, data connections, less range, and horrid battery life from wake issues and frequent disconnects. UCKL2 modem ftw.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using xda premium
It may be a combination of several things.
While I was using R3V I did not encounter SOD.
Neither Zeus 6 or Aeon.
I've been on Vag the longest using UCLB3 base and modem, dropping in and out of wifi, sleep etc...I did not encounter problems either.
Good battery and connection.
idk...
There may be a combination of things that brings it on...
A good test for modem itself may be running zeus 5.2 and uclb3 modem.
But I don't think you can blame the modem alone
All three have worked great for me, and I hammer my phone, thinking its a combination of things installed. No waking issues at all on any of my phones

First, sorry for the new thread & odd spot. I looked for 30 minutes to see if I was duplicating a question, but the search function on this app seems to do absolutely nothing. I also can't post in dev, yet; so I hope The Collective checks this forum.
R3velation works great, and looks even better; I'm very happy I gave it a look.
That said, I have 2 issues:
1. The battery drains FAST. Sitting idle with WiFi & Bluetooth turned off, I lose 50% of the charge in 6 hours. I'm still researching how to operate things like the voltage app that came with the ROM, but if anyone has tips I'd love to hear them.
2. The main reason for this post; sometimes when the screen is off, it just won't come back on. The only thing I can find that works is to remove the battery. Any ideas what this might be!?
Thanks to The Collective for this awesome ROM!
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using xda premium
Question 2 is a sod which they are working figuring out what is causing it. add for battery drain there is an app on the forums called better battery stats you may have to search for it on a computer to find it because i agree the search on this xda app sucks. But that app will help find the cause of the battery drain

I can send text messages but any other app that requires a data connection does not work (no network connection). Does this sound like a modem flash error? X- I downloaded the ROM from your sig.

Yes, I had tried re-flashing the original ROM I had downloaded for Experiments signature. That file might have been faulty? idk. Last night after posting about my issue and not wanting to wait another moment to enjoy this awesome ROM I did some research on XDA and found a post where Nun had a link to download R3V v2 but the file had the letter "F" at the end so I figured it to be a different file. Long story short, a little late for that huh? IT WORKED!! Thanks to the Collective, especially Experiment for this splendid ROM.
I know, right? This ROM is the nicest I've seen for Android, yet. Run R3velation OTA, and look at some of the further mods you can get for it. Under "Themes", there's one called "Mongo Toggles (blue)" by X and Mongo41. It looks VERY sweet. The light amounts of blue mixed with the beautiful toggles for the quick panel are awesome. I need to get in touch with them and ask them to make one that has purple in place of the blue. I'd never need another theme if I had that, heh.
Glad you were able to get up and running.
Did you battery life ever smooth out? There is a typically a period of three days or so where you need to wait for a rom to, "settle" before the battery will calm down. Then it should start acting much better.
The SOD issue is one that has been driven to the point of extinction. I ran R3V for a long time, and had no issues. I am now running another rom, and I am having issues. It's all what your phone likes and doesn't like I think. Good luck figuring it out man.

Thanks for the heads up. I just put the KL2 on the phone, we'll see how that does me.
Maybe it's my imagination, but this modem seems awesome. Battery life seems to have tripled, and I'm not dropping calls at the dead spots in town. What all does the modem cover, just phone & AT&T data? It doesn't handle Bluetooth or WiFi, does it?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using xda premium
As far as I understand, a modem is only responsible for pulling the voice and data connections from your provider. The best explanation I've found on it is from this thread here:http://http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22913686&postcount=1
That's what I thought (I had originally misunderstood, and thought there was a modem for voice, for data, for WiFi, for Bluetooth...found out a couple weeks ago that was wrong).
Anyway, that KL2 modem is great. I've only lost 13% of my battery in the last 9 hours with WiFi, Data, GPS, and auto-rotation all turned on. This is as opposed to 50% in 8 hours with WiFi only turned on. (Idling both times, as I was asleep.) It also seems to not be affected by the same dead spots the other modem had, as I didn't drop calls while driving past them like I used to.
