For some things, yes. Other things are better suited to a live medium, like general discussion, taking dumps, etc.

"Yet another server" Two is not a big deal, trust me. We're there for a good reason. There's a number of phone channels on IronDust - come on by and enjoy.

So, I am working on a new Android app and I would love some input on it.
The basic idea is that you can easily "chat" with other random users. I find this very hard to explain without showing so I will just run through the process here. You launch the app then you can write something in a text box and "shout it". The message gets uploaded and then you download a message that someone else has shouted out. You can then either download another message or reply to the message you have, effectively initiating a conversation with that person.
All comments and feedback appreciated, preferably on the Connect-UTB forums but I will check here as well
UPDATE: The app is now out on the Market.. feel free to give it a go!

Add different colors for each user and make it like a live update not to press the Grab new shout then it updates Other then that the UI is Good.

Not sure what you're thinking when it comes to the colours though? Give each user a unique colour? As in their name? Something like:

You could ask some twitter developers because they have the auto updating feature.

Its not the coding that is the problem, its just figuring out how I want it to be.
Also I'm figuring out how I shouts should be grabbed. Now it just grabs the newest (if you don't have any replies) so if lots of shouts are being posted then most of them might never be read. However I don't want users to get the same shout twice so I have some thinking to do.
Thanks for testing it though. I think it can be a fun app once it gets published on the market

Would be neat for proximity shout and preference like only want to receive from a female/certain age/or only pictures if not already implemented.
Hmm, interesting. I have been wanting to keep images and pictures of it due to the nastyness that tends to show up. However, a male/female setting would be nice.
I have set-up a irc channel for the Sensation. I set it up for a number of reasons. It allows users with issues to stop by the channel and get "instant" help from a dev or more experienced user. For Devs it gives them a place to go to get testers immediately for roms/apps they are working on. We have one for the asus transformer and all the devs come in there when they have things that need to be tested. I know it has made the dev's life easier for the TF because whenever he needs someone to test there is usually someone available. My goal is to make this channel a great resource for devs, testers and power users to come together and share ideas etc... I'm also looking for a few trustworthy people to become mods in the channel. (Established devs always get mod access)

Yup. 24/7 idling instead of 24/7 support is more like it.
And yes, I'm one of the epic idlers.
I just patrol the room every once in a while... make sure everyone is awake...

If you are talking about being banned on IRC chat its due to you using the "Webchat" interface in internet instead of download a IRC client.
Do a google search for Mirc or Xchat install any of those and setup the program .. You should not have any problems after that.,

Yea I just found a post about it a few threads down. Went ahead and gave you a thanks for the info. Since there busy with the gb kernel Ill do my part by just staying out of the way lol. Just glad it wasn't anything I did or anything personal lol.

Here is OnePlus' official statement clarifying what'll happen to the developer seeding program:
"Apologies, we weren’t as clear as we could have been. We’ve temporarily scaled back our developer program while we work out how to make it even better in the future. We’ll be updating the selection criteria and communication channels with developers in our seeding program for better co-operation. We will restart the program and select Devs based on the new criteria and will work on providing the best possible support to community development efforts for OnePlus devices." – OnePlus Spokesperson

Delete d , my girlfriend had my phone again.
As a community the best thing we can do is vote with our wallets. The pico phone seems to be slotting in where OnePlus is now leaving behind. OnePlus is off to bigger and better things now.

OnePlus has released an updated response to this statement though:
