Notice that on my notification bar some text and other icons are like washed out? This also happens when i switch between apps and some part of the text / icons are carried onto the next screen. Though you have to really take a good look, because it cant be noticed right away. Anyone having the same issue?

Low res/ bad textures is your problem here, not a bad thing, they just need some spray 'n' wipe ;-).

Is this sense theme related or something?

I guess you can never tell that from screenshot since it's a hardware issue. That is unless you use real camera to take a picture of your screen while it is happening you won't be able to show your issue to others.
It's called screen burn. Mine has it too. Mostly I can live with it since it seems to come and go. I always get it when I use the phone (i.e. screen on) for 20-30+ mins. Clearly visible in low lighting condition with screen brightness set to high.
If you're not happy with it you should turn in your phone for warranty service and stuff, see what they will come up with it.

Search google for desire s screen burn. You'll see you are not alone in this. What is weird is that mostly this is the issue suffered by many amoled displays. (I never had phone with amoled myself. But that's what I found on google.) How on earth are we seeing the screen burn on desire s which is s-lcd is too rocket science for me. I can only say that I have it too. Many people also have it. Some may have it without noticing that they do. Amoled users also have it.
Sent from my HTC Desire S using XDA App

I have that too. I've not even had the phone a month and it bugs the crap out of me. I was actually going to send it to be repaired. I thought my phone was broken.
Sent from my HTC Desire S using XDA App

I have same problem, it started when i updated to sense 3.0 ans android 2.3.5. Oficial update.
Sent from my HTC Desire S using XDA Premium App

Is there a way to fix it without sending it back? Would there be any point getting it fixed or would it just happen again? It's becoming worse and far more distracting.
Sent from my HTC Desire S using XDA App

Dudin, if you flash another ROM does your problem still occur ?
This is not a screen burn. It looks like 16bit instead of 32bit.
I experience screen burns very often but the screen goes back to normal after some hours.

Taking a guess now you were talking about the beloved "Screen Burn" effect. I have experienced this for a long time on the HTC Desire S, no real issue. When I did first notice it I got rather concerned that this would permanently burn into the screen, but after months of use, it always seems to disappear when the LCD screen completely powers down (locked for about a minute or so, or when rebooting).
TL;DR - Don't stress, she'll be right.

MT4G w/ "Superior" Screen Vs. Iphone 4

This is a shot of my replacement MT4G with the "Superior" screen compared to my wife's iPhone 4. Colors on the iPhone Retina still look better but at least my MT4G is in the ballpark as my "inferior" screen before this one displayed the same picture in a salmon color.

I did get my replacement, and compared it to my co workers iphone 4, and I can confirm it is up to par or slightly better in some cases than the iphone 4, as far as picture sharpness... I think the Mytouch has the edge, coz you can adjust brightness, saturation, contrast, sharpness and other more photo tweaks before even taking it.

You could but I'm not sure if they recognize this as a actual problem yet. You could add another more serious random problem, and the screen as another issue.
re:You could but I'm not sure if they recognize this as a actual problem yet. You could add another more serious random problem, and the screen as another issue.
This is true, I had mine for about 2 weeks, every day looking at my girlfriends good screen pissed me off. So i unrooted mine and called t mobile. Was one the phone for about 30 mins and he said it was not a common issue yet. He did day I was his second caller calling about the screen issue. I also had a spot on the screen that was flawed, it would not let ee touch the " compose message" spot when texting on anything else. Anyways they are going to overnight one with no shipping. Also I took a survey and they told me for doing so, I get one free month of service. I guess getting a "bad" screen was a good thing.

[Q] I noticed the demo Sensations running a different rom

I'm not sure if anyone has noticed this before but I was playing around with the demo model of the Sensation in my local phone shop. Typically it runs a demo video and disables any buttons but I forced a reboot and noticed that before the video started again it was running a sense-less rom. The locks creen and home screen were completely stock android. Anyone else notice this?

Even if it is a different ROM, you won't be getting it, you get what HTC give you and thats that, until of course you unlock and flash custom roms to your hearts content.

I went into Best Buy today, and played around with THEIR Senstion, or at least tried to.
The bootanimation is the one from the Android SDK, with the "android" logo. However, once you get to the launcher, it's the stock one from Gingerbread, though the notification bar is still the one from Sense.
However, this is were things get interesting, I booted up into the bootloader and snapped some pics from the Sensation I am returning.

What we have is a future build of Hboot. We also have some strange options like System Info and MFG Kernel.
I went into System Info and I see "touch panel-fail" but I think thats because HTC disabled it to so that you wouldn't be able to get out of the demo app.
Anyways, I'm sure this is all meaningless now that we have CM7, but it's still cool.

Starting this thread is somewhat pointless and you should edit the name because its just a front and back photo of the box....also you should have covered the imei because now someone can call tmobile and get the device blocked from their database.
T-Mobile just got their stock yesterday in my area and u can walk in now and test the device if a employee has it in hand but they won't be on sale till wed/thurs.
By time u decide to do a actual review other people will have the phone.
Thanks anyway......FOR NOTHING.

From the pic he is clearly sitting in a T-Mobile [email protected] the store on the customer side....but that may mean nothing. Just wanted to point that out. A worker could have just been showing him the device and he snapped photos.
The only people that have this device is the workers and possible bloggers and they aren't dumb enough to post the imei before release or even after.
The only tmo device that leaked before actual selling date is the Amaze.

I think that is the Sense launcher app restarting. I have had it happen twice... both times I was using the web browser. The first time was right after I installed the latest Flash update, so it is possible that it has something to do with a recent update. I have also never gotten the updated Market app, but I've played with it on my wife's G2 and honestly I don't like it as much so I am not complaining.
Well that update is on tablets but some devs just extracted it out and gave it to the general public. But you should try a custom theme. When i was on stock rom, I would get the same problem but when I got a custom theme it would reduce its refresh rate.
Sent from my TripNMiUI Pyramid using XDA App
My girls sensation is having the same problem. They offered to exchange it with a g2x but why? T-Mobile said it is a known issue and the only thing that they can do is just send another sensation that will do the same thing until HTC resolves the issue but I think it is BS to pay for a phone that is having software issues. Gay!
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
What the op is seeing is normal Android behaviour. When the system runs low on RAM it kills the biggest RAM hogs running in the background.
Sense is the biggest, so it often gets the boot. There are Tweaks you can do on a rooted phone to avoid this, but if you go far enough to root, then you can install a custom ROM and avoid the memory hogging bloatware altogether.

hi. nice hardware mod...or better tuning on your one s. I use this method with all metallic htc's phone. Especially with htc sensation. Now I thouk the same things but, this phone you know has a problem about paint. In fact thanks to warrantly it is possible to send the phone to htc centre, so they can resolve the problem.
now with this mod....the do this again???
