LeeDROiD SuperSensational V4.0.0... - HTC Sensation

Hi There,
I have a rooted Sensation and have bean happily running Android Revolution HD for a while now but I’ve just noticed that LeeDroiD is available for the Sensation.
As a fan of LeeDroiD in the past and I still have it on my Desire I wouldn’t mind giving it a go but i just have one question.
Does this version need a partition on the SD card like the Desire version did or not? There doesn't seem to be any mention of it on the developers page.
Cheers,
Richard.

I've never partitioned anything on my sensation so far and have used many different roms . Best thing I say is to use the super wipe beforehand to get rid of all traces of previous rom so that no conflicts occur.
Good luck with your sensation :-D

No, it's just a straight up flash I believe. I would wait a couple of revisions before fully recommending it, however. If stable is what you're after, you might want to try Sensational 3.3.0.

Thanks for your replies guys, I do like revolution but i am still getting ocasional lock ups and reboots. I might wait a while though for a bit more development of the new LeeDroiD ROM.
I will take a look at Sensational 3.3.0.
Cheers...

I've just switched to Leedroid from Android Rev HD and so far so good. I have not experienced any of the bugs reported in the thread (touch wood). Before i flashed the Leedroid v4 all i did was a superwipe.

Liking LeeDrOiD.
Me too, after using Android Revolution HD from 3.5.2 through to 3.6.5 I’ve now switched to LeeDrOiD 4.0.0.
As fast and smooth as ARHD was it still kept locking my phone occasionally and requiring a battery pull. That gets really boring after a while, so far so good for LD though.
I just wiped and flashed with no problem at all, after a backup of course...

Bluetooth...
Has anyone else noticed a problem with this ROM when playing your music through the car's bluetooth?
This has always worked fine before but since i put LD on it doesn't seem to work.
It connects to the car and says it's playing on the phone but no sound comes out...

the only time my phone freezes on ARHD 4.1.6 is when im running the camera and my screen turns off i gotta pull the battery, but despite that i prefer it over the early version of LeeDroid, dont get me wrong i love his roms but im just waiting for further development

Have you tried LD 4.0.0?
I find it incredibly stable and the battery life is nothing short of amazing...

Any ROM better performing than IC?

I just wanted to see everyone's opinion on this. I tried both Android Revolution and LeeDroid when the sensation just got s-off and they gave my phone issues (laggy, locked up, etc.). I went back to stock for a while, but I recently tried InsertCoin per a friend's recommendation and it is the best ROM I have tried on my phone! Animations are super smooth and overall decently fast. Made me think twice about possibly trading it for another T-Mo android phone.
I don't have all the time in the world to try flashing other's ROMs as soon as they are released, but I do want to know how other's ROMs perform compared to InsertCoin. What are people's opinion on some other options that are currently better/on par with IC?
IC is the best I've tried. Currently on Bosina's Senseless and liking it though.
I have lots of lag with all android revolution builds i've tried thus far... Must be TMO phones only.
I've found IC to be the best and smoothest, I just back over to AR HD though because I couldn't watch youtube videos on the latest IC release. Not digging it as much though :/
My choice
i've tested other roms (for no more than 30-40 mins) but i keep going back to bosnia's senseless rom. it runs smooth and fast.
InsertCoin is a beastly rom. Try the new coredroid though. Its pretty smooth and looks absolutely amazing.

Swyped from my HTC Sensation

Desire to Sensation. I feel like ive gone backwards.

I owned the desire for about a year, flirted with the sgs for a short while and now i have gone for the dogs b.....ks, ive had the sensation for 3 days!
W.T.F. The battery life is aweful, sense fc's randomly screen doesn't appear to be any better than the desire and scrolling lists is aweful especially in my favourite friend stream and news widgets etc. etc. ...
On my desire i ran RCMixS which had sense 2.1 with sense 3.0 lockscreen and it ran far more smoothly than my new device and when i sold it i first reverted it to stock and it was like lightening!
On my new sensation i ran stock 2.33 and played with this and was most disappointed but luckily, i thought, 2.34 is available so i s-offed, rooted and tried a few 2.34 based modded roms. Not impressed so i went to stock 2.34 which was marginally better but still terrible.
What is going on here, htc's flagship phone and it's streets behind the sgs that i owned (sgs 1 that is!)
I loved the sense ui but why have htc released it this state??
I woke up to the postman on Saturday morning excited (yes at my age!) and now i am one very p...ed off htc customer with another 2 year contract.
Presuming that you have made sure there are no rogue apps preventing your device from sleeping, here's the "solution" to your problem:

Maybe you nedd to do a few things to make your experience with your new phone better. I have had the opposite feelings about this phone that you mentioned. Try running this setup, its awsome on battery life and no lag!
1. Flash InsertCoin 2.3.4 v2.2.2
2. Flash the new EU radio
3. Flash the RIL .0169HMQ
4. Install Spare parts and put window transitions to "fast".
I'm running the same exact setup minus InserCoin because I wanted to run a TMOUS based 2.3.4 rom. Try it...it will help! The phone is fast as hell and stable! hope this helps!

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1202867 flash it in CWM. It will give you Max optimization for the radio. Assuming your on a 2.3.4 rom, grab the last one on the list.
If you're already using a ROM based on 1.45.401.2 and have the latest radio then you have the correct RIL already
You're out of your mind if you think sgs is better. I've used both and this is much faster. Just try the browser on a loaded website.
Gotta love these trolls.
Try ROM+Kernel associations until you find something that "fit" your phone well.
I am running Android Revolution HD with Unity v8 kernel, that's the best for me, but for some Unity v8 is very slow.
For others, InsertCoin is faster than unity whatever the kernel.
Others think Stock kernel is smoother and more reliable than custom kernels
etc
etc
etc
What I mean here is that the Sensation is weird in the way people flashing the same rom, same kernel, using the same clockwork, flashing just the same way, experience very different results! I can have 7606 CF bench points with my rom, some will have 1800 with exactly the same
Really, try again, reboot at least twice after flashing, make your opinion, try anoither kernel, if you don't like, flash another ROM
it's, in my opinion, and for the current situation, impossible to tell what rom or what kernel is the best.
Just one thing is sure for me: Sense is really not optimized, so I always remove it and use Launcher Pro instead (but some where reporting Launcher Pro as slow and other launchers fast, etc, once more it varies a lot!)

Simple, they haven't.
Either 1) you've got a duff phone (most likely) or 2) Vodafone have screwed their Sensations.
Mine on O2 is lovely, but then I've never had a slow phone from O2.
You've changed ROMs and still had issues, which suggests a hardware problem.
Flash it back to stock, take it back to Vodafone and demand a replacement/repair.

Is any one else disillusioned?

Yes, yes I know the benefits of ROM's but man there are really getting on my tits.
I am fed up of things not working, the 'phone locking up, for what some battery and performance improvements that I don't even notice in day to day use.
My DHD admittedly ran better with Lee's and Mikes ROM's, my Sensation ran better in stock and every ROM I have tried have so many issues it's unreal.
If u dnt like the roms, don't use it!!! Haha

It may take a little patience, but it is definitely worth it on some of the ROMs. I have been sticking with Mike's ROMs and couldn't be happier. His latest 3.6.1 has been running flawless for me and many others. I guess you just have to find one you enjoy and keep looking back until it is completely daily stable.
Ops post is quite painful to read an I'm not even a dev, but I guess I understand where he is coming from. But op what you don't realize is that people who post roms go through a ton of work to get to where they are. Believe it or not but I'd go as far as to say that the devs for my phone (motorola milestone v1) know more about the phone than the group of developers from motorola.
Op, I'll dumb it down a little for you, if you need a stable phone stick with what it was when you pulled it out of the box. But if you wish to go a on an epic journey filled with ups and downs of situations where you'll sit there with a huge smile across your face, stick around, thank the devs for the gift they have given you, and if at all possible learn a thing or two while you enjoy your stay.

There are a number of ROMs that are plenty stable. You just have to find the right ones. I'm on CoreDroid 2.4 which has proven to be as stable as stock for me. Don't be surprised if a ROM you run that isn't on stock kernel and runs hacked Sense 3.5 isn't stable.

Don't get me wrong I appreciate all the work the dev's put in, I have only used Virtuous, Leedroid and Android HD but I have never had an install without some issue. Then the next version comes out and you have a different set of issues it's just so frustrating.
Witj bulletproof 1.4 (not the 3.5 version) i've had literally no issues.

No such thing as a bug free ROM, not even stock
OP, try insert coin, a 2.3.4 version (latest is 2.5.5 ver2 w/ bricked kernel) its the best ive used to date, with frequent use, i get 1 day battery life, and with average-minimal use, i get 2 days battery life. no crashes, reboots or sense reloads, 200mb free ram (unless you use a custom theme).
while i would have agreed with the op when dev first started, this is no longer the case anymore. the devs have learned A LOT about this phone, and its builds and have only gotten so much better with time.
the main reason ppl come to XDA is so they CAN flash many, many roms to see what suits them. when i had my HD2 i was a certified flashaholic, new rom every 3 days to a week
with this fone ive settled down quite a bit, but when i new rom/dev comes along, i nand backup, flash the new rom, let it settle and then try it out for a few days and actually give it a chance.
Custom ROMs are fun because there are so many out there, and you can spend time with each one to determine which one fits your needs. If you're looking for a phone that is stable, just use the one that's been working the best for you and improvise, fixing what needs to be fixed so that your phone can do what you require of it.
Using Android Revolution HD 3.6.2 and its stable for me, had more issues with stock ROM.

Ice Cream Sandwich - Insertcoin VS Android Revolution HD

The title says it all. for those of you that Have Ice Cream Sandwich on your Sensation , and you have tried both roms, which one is better?
I havn't tried ICS insertcoin since I updated to hboot to 1.20 and the latest radio.
I do think that makes a big difference to performance though, and at the moment I'm very happy with ARHD 5.02
Virtuous FTW!
ARHD - IMHO Stable and support.
i think it's RCMix Ice, 24 hour, and stable.
lots of different opinions here! I myself have Android Revolution HD but havnt tried any others.
I have InsertCoin, tried also ARHD
Chosed InsertCoin because.. I don't know
Aren't they all based on the same leaked HTC rom with a few minor personal changes?
Aren't all of these ROMs a tuned variant of the HTC Sensation Sense leak?
Aside from obvious kernel / speed mods, each should perform similarly, so when you ask which is better, are you asking what is special or better in each variant?
If I may ask, I'd like to know what percentage of each ROM is 'just right' and what percentage 'needs work' - to assist answering the question.
Is that a helpful way to ask? Which is more of a reliable 'daily driver' that you enjoy and can rely on?
I tried insertcoin, ARHD, Ultimate, RCMix and Elegancia ICS ROM. All felt the same. May be because of base leaked HTC ROM and Sense (look wise). All had problem with Exchange ActiveSync policies and Security settings FC. I am back to insertcoin GB based ROM.
Virtuous Inquisition.

it has a few sense ics problems, the most closest aosp rom available with speed and everything working
I have tried both, and BOTH have the same problems when used in my phone...
"Random reboot", about every 20 mins...
So i am off now to try yet an other rom...
ICS on my Desire HD works rock solid (but without cam), so i am a little suppriced so discover that these more complete sensation roms have those kind of issues...
Right now the phone is on insert coin, and aperrently in a bootloop... :-S
- it have worked for 15 mins up until that point...

1. GMAIL/FB tiles bug
2. scrolling to slow
3. camera

ive tried a few i like onceICS the most it has the best battery life but if your looking for something would sense i recommend InsertCoin
aren't they pretty much the same? ICS so new, I dont think ive seen the descriptions under the different roms vary much. What we need is kernel source dam HTC cawcks
I think id rather see an interest poll cause these things tend to cause too much conflict
kernel dev fights, aosp dev fights, too much drama.

no reboots?? on what rom version?
stock.
there is no "best" rom ever. opinion varies. don't be lazy. Download and try them yourself.
Currently running this with stock kernel, remember to remove CRT animation, they cause reboots sometimes: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1327641
Not a single reboot, been running it for a week.
I have to say, what works for me is InsertCoin 3.4.2 (based on ruu 2.08, GB 2.3.5, Sense 3.5, Stock HTC Kernel). Simply amazing! Unparalleled performance, unshakabley stable, great add-ons, and power consumption is super. I have tried MOST Roms and this one, in my opinion, is in its own league!
But, u should try out a few to see what works for you.
Cheers
There is no "best" ROM.
In the end it's all down to experience and personal preference.
Try a few out and use what you like the best.
Personally i like ARHD because of the frequent updates and good support when you have a problem. Plus it's stable and fits all my needs.
My favorites to date have been InsertCoin 3.4.6 and 2.5.5-2, ARHD 3.6.7 and Virtuous Sensation 2.2.0. All stable, with great performance.
But seriously, you're doing yourself a disservice by not just messing around flashing a couple of roms and kernels yourself.
I'm happy with my ARHD 3.6.X.X... smooth on daily use....
I would recommend Insert Coins 2.5.5-2, really stable, absolutely nothing wrong with it. Give it a try, I'm still using it.
CM7 has been rock solid for me with the Faux kernel. No random reboots ever.
I like Roms with a lot of Sense stuff removed. I currently run Hyper NonSense 2.0 which is a ICS 4.0.3 Rom and I love it. Some will not care for the camera or for the fact that it has been removed of sense but I like it that way. Like many have said just make a nandroid of what you currently have and just start flashing new roms and see what meets YOUR needs.
I am looking for a stable rom as well. The problem with flashing and trying many roms is that for me the process takes way to long to get back operational.
My main goal is to eliminate the screenshot issue with the sensation.
With insert coin 4.06 the issue has gone away but I am experiencing more closes and app problems than ics is worth.
I would appreciate any tips to flashing more efficiently and a stable rom without the screenshot issue.
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio Z715e using XDA App
after going through every rom, 95% have had the odd reboot, every rom is great, and respect to the hard working devs, but two I have used, have had great battery, and no reboots, 1.... Android Revolution HD and 2... Supersensation by the god LeeDroid
Insetcoin ,ARHD,MIUI ,all great for me but there more I haven't tried more than 4 from different devs so far I am using ARHD .6.0.2 Now which is ICS based and is great performer (battery life speed) I had 2 random reboots when I first installed the ROM but after that everything was smooooooth!!!
As for the reboots on cooked ROMs in general is hard to avoid since the devs tweak stuff all the time to make ROMs better and that might cause some conflicts from time to time plus they add other things from deifferent versions of ROMs out there, the main idea is to pick a ROM with very good support and updates
Funny thing though I wa getting occasional reboots on my HTC desire before root
Worth doing some research and experimentation your self .

I'll start with my current personal favorite - energy rom has been working great for me, lasts at least 15-20 hours with moderate use and no issues at all. I've come to the conclusion that the original TmoUS radio works best for me, so rom's the recommend another radio I tend to stay away from, and I haven't bothered with ICS yet as it seems way to buggy currently.
For the above post, how are you currently flashing and restoring things? I generally download current ROM's into a folder on my home computer and keep them organized so I can go back to older versions easily if I want. For me, flashing and setting up a new rom is only about a 30 min. process at the longest. I generally do the following:
1. I try to make sure my phone has a full charge first, but not needed.
2. I transfer rom onto sd card
3. unplug phone
4. make sure Titanium Backup is current - if not I back up all apps that have been changed first
5. boot into recovery - full wipe/reset/etc - flash rom
6. reboot, let rom start and settle
7. sign into my google account and set up wifi
8. use titanium to fully restore my apps
9. enjoy my new rom
ARHD 3.6.12 works wonders for me. No reboots and it is snappy, bug free, and everything works.
For me, ARHD worked like a charm as well. Battery life almost doubled compared to stock ROM, and the phone is much faster, sense is much smoother.
I'm currently using insertcoin 3.4.6 and SebastianFM's edited stock kernel. It runs completely without fault, ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING still works, and works at speed. I'm toying with the idea of going over to ics, but don't know if it's stable yet or not. Bottom line is I don't have the time to frequently flash ROMs and reinstall everything every time I find issue with a ROM and want to change again, and at the end of the day it's my phone, I need everything to work.
Currently using InsertCoin 4.2.1.. extremily smooth
