Jus got another quick question, Does anyone know why TW launcher on dlev5.0 always makes my phone restart whenever I'm messing around with the preferences, i goto hit restart launcher so the changes i made will take effect, and it freezes n reboots my phone, any ideas much appreciated.
P.S. Does anyone know why swype won't work on this rom, or how to get it to?

I never had TwLauncher make my phone reboot, but I really didn't use it either. Swype needs updating. You can uninstall it with Root Explorer. Then you register at Swype.com and follow instructions to update Swype to the newest beta. Sorry I didn't see you're post sooner.

Signal
Okay so i have the dlevrom 5.0 and after i shut my phone down and turn it back on, whenever someone calls me my phone looses its signal and drops the call. The only way to fix it is too reinstall the rom. Can anyone help me out?

Hi. I downloaded your ROM today. I restored my missing apps via Titanium. All the apps are haphazardly placed on the phone, i.e., not in alphabetical order, app pages with blank spaces. Is there any way to fix this? Thanks.
When I try out this ROM, everything looked great. Does anyone have PIN or password lock working with this ROM??? When I tried it, it didn't (as with any other custom ROMs).
Thanks,
I haven't tested the backup w TB since I use cwm to back up so I will have to check on your issue with that this afternoon...thanks foe the info.. and the pin should work...working fine on mine...what lockscreen settings areyou using?

Are you talking about Kies Air? That's available from "Samsung App" in Rogers Infuse. APK can be extracted using TB.

My Installed Apps cannot be found
Hi,
I have installed your ROM and it went smooth enough, so i installed root explorer and opera mini as my first apps, after that, I powered the phone off and then to my surprise, my new APPS + Market are grayed out and cannot be found.
Does anyone experienced this? Hoping for a reply. Thanks!
Update: I tried to re-flash everything again and it worked. The only thing now is the cam with SGS2 mod, it gets like stripes of cream at the viewfinder. I don't think that's normal.

Just installed this ROM, apparently Market will only find cached pages, if I look for something new I get the 'no connection error'. Am I doing something wrong?
No..that is a froyo kernel. You have to use a GB kernel with this rom....this is a GB rom

Imho swype works better then what comes with the phone pre-installed. You should try and see the difference yourself. I don't know if it's the themeing or what but it's a hell of a difference.

The phone came with Samsung keyboard and swype keyboard. That's what I was saying so it sought be a problem to use di the newer version (I assume that's what you're doing). I would uninstall the old version, reboot, then install the new one like a regular app.
And I agree it's better. But I've been using the 4.2 keyboard lately and really liking it.

I'm still somewhat a noob when it comes to what's touchwiz and what isn't but I have used Swype on cleanRom and Jelly beans build 5. It's the only keyboard I use, it's the first app I restore.
I'm running beans ROM and it doesn't give u the option and been using the 4.2 keyboard and I like it OK. Just been trying to get swype to work because the prediction seems a lil better. I went to the site and used the beta installer and all I'm getting is fcs. Really don't understand as I've been able to get this phone to do a lot that it shouldn't. Lol. Thanks for responses though. Agreed. The Swype beta from their site is much better than the other versions. YMMV
I have collected many zips over time to change CleanRom to work the way i wanted it to. I get a lot of requests in the CleanRom forum to send people these zips because their deep somewhere in the 2,000 pages of CleanRom. I see there are other mods pages but not ones that have all of the information in one place.
I do believe that these files will work on other 4.1.2 touchwiz roms but can't guarantee that it will. I have used everyone of these zips and currently use them all except the multi-view.

Ok now for the good stuff
BUBBLE NOTIFICATIONS
To get back your bubble notifications there is a way to delete the customer.csc file but I don't like that! It has adverse effects.
Another way- I only use root explorer. Navigate to system folder and long hold build.prop and chose to open in text editor. ADD THESE LINES TO THE END:
ril.sales_code=LOL
ro.csc.sales_code=LOL
click menu then save. I know root explorer will save a backup of the original and name it build.prop.bak so if it causes any problems you can go back. Here is the build.prop already modified. This is CleanRom 6 only. I wouldnt use this build.prop on other roms. But you can change yours and it should work.
FIX GPS
After having my phone for a while I couldn't get a lock on gps. I thought it was the rom. IT WASN'T!!!!!!!!!! I read this over and over. Finally I tried it. Take off your battery cover and tighten the screws. No crap! Now I get a lock in my house again. Call me dumb but I tried everything. This fixed mine.
STOCK KERNEL WITH BOOT ANIMATIONS ENABLED
I use this kernel to activate boot sounds and get better battery life HERE. Just flash it. Wipe cache and dalvik after. Then boot before you do anything else
BOOT ANIMATION SOUNDS
Just like it says. The power on and off sounds will work. Just flash this. DOWNLAOD HERE. Your boot animation won't change. I use CleanRom official boot animation with ACDC as the sound. After you flash the boot animation.zip To get ACDC as the sound just use this file and replace the PowerOn.ogg in system/media/audio/ui.
OR you can just flash THIS instead of flashing anything else and it will be acdc instead
REMOVE BRIGHTNESS SLIDER
santas16 already posted this HERE. I would flash this before anything else or it may undo any other system ui changes you already made.

So run the boot animations stuff by me. I already have a custom animation, all I want is to add sound and I have a poweron.ogg file with the sound I want. Do I have to go through flashing all those files? I tried just copying my sound file toboth the system/etc and system/media/audio/ui folders with no luck.
Flash the stock kernel then boot. Then flash the boot animation signed.zip . Your animation won't change. Have your system ui volume turned up so you can hear the boot sounds.

I just flashed CleanROM on my S3, and now I have no signal, and when I do I cant make or receive calls or anything.
I flashed it on my brothers phone before doing it to mine a day before, and his works wonderfully. Should I just give the phone a day? If so, and it doesn't work by tomorrow should I simply flash a new radio or reflash CleanROM?
Check under settings> more settings> mobile networks. You should be set to global setting. If it already is set that way, switch to gsm of CDMA and the switch back to global. That should do it. And obviously make sure your not in airplane mode, sync is on, mobile data enabled, ect.

Of course not. Go figure. I backed up the phone I did it on originally, and didn't need to. Way ahead of you. Got it backed up with 4.0.4. Thanks for your help and patience man. You get a thanks from me.
Also, I think it should be noted for everyone else that after flashing back to stock 4.0.4, you can save yourself a lot of drama by using that code. Also, you do get stuck into a boot loop when reverting back(I and many others did that I read), simply boot into recovery(yes stock recovery) and do a full wipe. This is probably mentioned somewhere though.

You're in download mode. Pull the battery. Reboot the phone. Open super user. It should ask to update. Do that.
Go to this site and read this page. Click the download button.

Then click galaxy s3 (Verizon). Click clean ROM 7. Then towards the top right of the page click download.
DO ALL OF THAT FROM YOUR PHONE SO ITS EASIER
then turn ur phone off. Then hold down volume up+home button+ power button to reboot into recovery. Do a back up. Then wipe your phone. Then install your ROM. follow the on screen instructions and then you're good to go.

THIS. please do plenty of reading before attempting to flash roms, or even root for that matter. why would you root, unlock, and install a custom recovery if you have no idea what the recovery screen looks like ?
SIR. there are plenty of videos on youtube, threads on this site, and information in other places on this subject. read up . that is the only reason any of us know how to answer your questions.
without reading, i am sure as soon as you flash whatever rom you decide on, you will be right back here with more questions. if not BEFORE you even accomplish it. search youtube, and find a video on "how to flash roms using TWRP" there are plenty of videos. watch a couple.
there are also videos on almost every ROM that we have available, so you could check it out before you flash it.
the biggest thing i and others will say is READ READ READ.

THIS. please do plenty of reading before attempting to flash roms, or even root for that matter. why would you root, unlock, and install a custom recovery if you have no idea what the recovery screen looks like ?
SIR. there are plenty of videos on youtube, threads on this site, and information in other places on this subject. read up . that is the only reason any of us know how to answer your questions.
without reading, i am sure as soon as you flash whatever rom you decide on, you will be right back here with more questions. if not BEFORE you even accomplish it. search youtube, and find a video on "how to flash roms using TWRP" there are plenty of videos. watch a couple.
there are also videos on almost every ROM that we have available, so you could check it out before you flash it.
the biggest thing i and others will say is READ READ READ.
good luck!

initial boot will take about as long as it did when you first turned it on out of the box. 2-5 minutes tops. 5 would be strange though. end up getting this figured out?
I actually just wiped data and cache and it booted up within 3 minutes
Thank You

I just want to say thank you for offering the best advice we can give to noobs( I am a noob and I'm not ashamed). I had never even heard of rooting before I got my galaxy s3 and I had no idea what I was doing when I rooted it. But, I got lucky. I found CASUAL and rooted my phone in literally 3 minutes. And the first time I saw the twrp screen I panicked, got lucky again when I chose reboot system, then I got sooooooo lucky when I accepted the OTA and lost my root but didn't have any serious problems. That was over a month ago and I have not rooted phone again because now, after all the reading I've done I can see very clearly how lucky I was. My point is, rooting and modifying our phones is serious business and we should understand what we're doing before we do it. And we should exercise some caution when offering advice.
Good luck to everyone in your endeavors and take care of your lovely little phones!
