Does anyone know how to get the Swype keyboard to work on any touchwiz ROM? I've tried the usual method of pushing to system/app and fixing perms. All it does is fc and won't popup. Am I missing something? Thanks n advance.

Have you tried clearing app data? What about just installing it like a normal app. Since swype came stock don't see why there would be a problem.

Imho swype works better then what comes with the phone pre-installed. You should try and see the difference yourself. I don't know if it's the themeing or what but it's a hell of a difference.

The phone came with Samsung keyboard and swype keyboard. That's what I was saying so it sought be a problem to use di the newer version (I assume that's what you're doing). I would uninstall the old version, reboot, then install the new one like a regular app.
And I agree it's better. But I've been using the 4.2 keyboard lately and really liking it.

I'm still somewhat a noob when it comes to what's touchwiz and what isn't but I have used Swype on cleanRom and Jelly beans build 5. It's the only keyboard I use, it's the first app I restore.
I'm running beans ROM and it doesn't give u the option and been using the 4.2 keyboard and I like it OK. Just been trying to get swype to work because the prediction seems a lil better. I went to the site and used the beta installer and all I'm getting is fcs. Really don't understand as I've been able to get this phone to do a lot that it shouldn't. Lol. Thanks for responses though. Just like options.

Agreed. The Swype beta from their site is much better than the other versions. YMMV

I have searched xda over and cannot find where to download a couple of apk files. I've seen people mention them in places but no where to download. So I have an idea floating around in my head and need two apks to see if I can make it work... needed are...
1. Stock touchwiz apk for android 2.3.5 that was on the skyrocket out of the box.
2. Gallery3d apk that also came stock on the 2.3.5 out of the box.
If anyone has these or knows where I can download them from either upload or send me a link.
If I can get my idea to work I will then post it and give some kudos to whoever helps with these files...

what im trying to do id get the issue with the wallpaper resizing fixed for those who dont want to install a custom rom. my idea is it worked fine on 2.3.5 so i just have to figure out what the difference is in the code and whether its a gallary problem or a touchwiz problem or a little of both. ive tried every launcher on the market so im hoping the problem is the gallary and i can take the apk from 2.3.5 and drop it in the system app root folder and it work. if that dont work ill have to start looking into the code and see if there is a difference. its all wrote in java so i know java from my computer programing days... but there has got to be a way to make it work....

Those apk's are stock, not deodexed. So if you are planning on dropping them in a custom rom, I think you will have to deodex them. Or I can upload the deodexed versions if you need them.

I'm running ucle2 and can't resize wallpaper other than cwm recovery and rooted and debloated I am stock. So do you think they need to be deodexed for stock ucle2? I'm not installing the touchwiz as a matter of fact I hope I don't need it but if I do it will just be to look at the code and see how it differs from ucle2 touchwiz if any at all. I'm hoping I can drop the apk and odex file in the root system app folder replacing the ucle2 with the 2.3.5 gallery and I'm hoping it run it and I can once again resize wallpaper and have ucle2. Kinda yea. Didn't know there was a forum for it already. My hope is that it will work without any changing code you know keep it simple until simple don't work... I noticed last night that both 2.3.5 and ucle2 both use the same touchwiz30 so maybe I'll get away with simple....

Well of course simple hasn't worked so now I'm about to check code.. oh what fun. When I drop the 2.3.5 apk in the system app folder it opens for a short few seconds and force closes. I've tried fix permissions and of course wiped cache and dalvick cache so its close to working but close just isn't good enough... but I have not gave up yet. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated....

Mokee comes with no file explorer but I'll put one in the next update as for root if your having trouble just download superiser app from play store and you'll be good

Liking the rom. Only thing Im finding is you have to install superuser. E'ffin FB has me liking supersu and it would not acquire root access. Installed superuser then give supersu #su and uninstalled superuser.
Also my initial install was missing things like status bar, settings and such. Did a F/S/D/W and reflashed the rom everything was fine.
Some menus still have Chinese kinda wish I knew how to read it.

Superuser is a known issue idk why the one built in the ssettings doesn't work but ill look into it. As for the Chinese ill decompile the settings and try n translate the chinese.
for cm people I would back up ur efs to the desktop just in case and still do efs backup flashable

Wipe data flash .zip. Working fine so far.
You don't need to do the efs-backup if you have the .tar on your sdcard
And I concur with Erik, having your efs-backup.tar and the md5 saved to your comp is a very good idea
The steps I took to make sure I didn't have any probs was from recovery (already on mtd) factory/ data reset, format system, flash efs-restore.zip, flash ROM, reboot and let cook/ bake...

If I remember right then kernel needs to have ext enabled within.

I tested almost 2 days and everything was working. (data, wifi, BT,GPS,calls). The ROM does have root access, I installed Root Explorer and follow directions to set permissions for the app. Drove me nuts for a few minutes thinking I screwed something up. Any app that requires root access will ask to set permissions. Highly customizable ROM. CAM works same as CM9 from TFQ. Give it a go and let me know what you think

If you use Titanium Backup, be patient with it. You have to answer a million questions about giving root access. It eventually grants acess.
I also tested music player and its amazing. Volume controls were working correctly. Good luck and enjoy

miui just release their patch rom source they didn't release full source in english so except for official builds everythign is ported from somewhere actually even some officials are ported from a similar phone like i9000 builds are ported from Nexus S.

Really like this rom! I miss miui from when I had the vibrant...I can't find anything wrong with this rom except for the buttons not lighting up issue & I tried to use a theme n it didn't work. But all in all I'm enjoying it! Thanks flyer!

Beautiful rom, MIUI was my rom of choice when I had my ATT SGS2. Having run into any issues yet, except I can't apply themes. Also, when I've used MIUI in the past, I was able to swipe the notification bar a certain way and open up the app drawer. I think there was a zip or something to make that doable,but it's been a while so I can't remember. Is there something like that available for this rom? Is there, or will there be a fix for the theme issue?

2.8.10 is the last ICS Miui build after that they went JB .... a quick google search would of answered that.

Attached is a flashplayer apk that will work on JB. Should be able to install with an apk installer....if not move to /system/app and reboot.... I take no credit for this as I just found it and figured I would post for all to benefit from

Yeah you're right. It should work with all. It works with my default and I would expect it to work for chrome. Older versions of dolphin browser works too. Comes that support flash

It may be the browser. I'm using stock cm10 tho so it should be fine. I'll try it when I get home in chrome cuz I'm at school right now. I'll let you know later.

Chrome rejects flash for some reason. Were gonna need a custom chrome apk to get it working. It may just be flash games that don't go full screen but that's still a problemo. I'll test Firefox when I can.

it opened it up last night to see where it came from..its the same exact one adobe has on their site. So this is good for all devices running JB or GB
Well I love Beans latest ROM. But I wanna try out other TW and other AOSP ROMs but the only thing holding me back is the emoji keyboard which I use a lot. I tried to back up the iWnn files from the ROM using Titanium Backup n restoring them on another TW ROM but when I bring the keyboard up, it just force closes. Does anyone know how to get it to work on other ROMs?

Same here this is something I've been wondering too, I really love AOSP but without emoji keyboard I can't see myself making the transition between Bean's ROM and a AOSP ROM
I'm pretty sure it's just like 3 files that need to be placed in system/app and system/lib. After that, boom, there's the emoji keyboard.

Copy the two .apk's in the app folder to /system/app. Then copy the file in the lib folder to /system/lib. Change the permissions to rw-r--r-- and then reboot. Credit to whoever I got this .zip from as it was a long time ago. Hope this is the keyboard you wanted.

Tried it on the Illusion ROM kept force closing on me, Thanks though, I'm actually enjoying Bean's new build
